I don't understand Yelp reviews. I left a review back in 2015 but they won't recommend my review…read morefor some reason. I will try again. I have been dealing with Absher-Arnold Dodge-Chrysler since I bought my 2012 Dodge Jouney new back in 2012. Even though I bought it from another dealer, Absher Motors has been doing all my service work on my Journey. I have never had any problems getting a service appointment nor have had any problems with this business. My 22 year old son just recently wanted to trade his 2006 Cadillac for a car with better gas mileage. Absher Motors was where we took him. They gave him a good deal on a 2016 Dodge Dart. I would have never taken him there if I had ever had a bad experience with them. They have done all my oil changes and service on my Journey. I priced around for tires and they were in the same price ball park as WalMart and other tire dealers so I bought my new tires from them about 3 years ago. After the first of the year I will be buying another set from them and having my engine tuned up. I'm 66 years old and have been around the block a few times. I know there are auto repair places I would never go to a second time, but Absher Motors has always treated me right. They know my vehicle and I would not take it anywhere else unless I had no other choice. We moved to this town back in 2006 and I know it's hard to find reputable auto repair places. The business I used until I bought my Journey had switched hands so we went looking for a new vehicle. I would recommend Absher-Arnold for anyone looking for repair work or purchasing a car.

I purchased my Jeep here in 2017 and have always taken it to them for all of my servicing needs…read more Last time I went in for my oil change, the new service guy tells me that I have a leak in the front, thinks it's my power steering, but I really need to get an all points inspection. I call back a couple of days later and set that up. when I picked my Jeep up, they had found nothing wrong. Oddly, my paperwork stated that I had complained about the powersteering, which was untrue..HE told me it was possibly leaking fluid. I then, approximately a month later, was experiencing a grinding noise in the front area of the vehicle. Took it to Absher. They called me that afternoon, with a list of what was wrong, which included my front calipers. My total was right at $2000. Then told me they'd have to order the parts I needed, so if I wanted to come pick it up until then, they'd get it ready. I asked, won't driving it make things worse? Is it safe to drive? No, it's fine to drive, and no, it won't make things worse. Went to pick it up after work and asked him, shouldn't the all points inspection I just had done, have picked up on something going bad? He said no, and that his oil guy isn't a mechanic. I said so, the oil guy did the inspection, but he's not qualified to do inspections? Reminded him that he's the one who said I needed the inspection, at first he tried to deny, then remembered it was him and said, that's something we say and then some mumbling. He got extremely flustered, stated he needed to make copies, and as he was walking off, blurted out Jesus Christ. Needless to say, I will not step foot in there again. I will not buy from them, I won't recommend people to buy from them, I won't use or recommend their service dept. Which is sad, because as stated bought and serviced from them since 2017. Someone really needs to speak to this guy. Customer service is not his thing.

It wasn't perfect, but it worked out in the end! We had an…read moreemergency repair in Marion when the starter on my Jeep went out in the last leg of a 6 week, 6,000 western road trip. We had to be towed because the jeep would not start, and we didn't know the area so we relied on the tow truck driver for advice. He told us Hale's was a reliable family owned facility. The jeep was dropped off about 8:00 at night, and the tow driver took us to a nearby hotel. Hale's called early the next morning and we discussed the issue we were having. They took a few hours to check things over, and called with an estimate of cost and time. They said they would get on it right away because we were traveling through. The jeep was ready to go the following morning. However- less than 2 months later the starter went out again! My local repair shop fixed it (for about the same price and timing as we paid at Hale's.) I contacted Hale's about their warranty, and shipped the bad starter to them on a Friday morning. The following Tuesday I received a call from Hale's confirming that they would reimburse me for the total amount of the second repair, plus the parts and shipping cost to return the old starter. While I would have preferred not to have had two starter replacements in 2 months, Hale's lived up to their claim of "The Best Warranty in Marion!"

This place took two weeks to initially fix my car, messed up my radio, charged $129 for a single…read morerear light bulb replacement, and couldn't even install a windshield wiper properly the first time. In total, they overcharged me by about $435 in phony labor costs, including: 0.8 hours, or 48 minutes, just for a rear light bulb replacement, 1 hour for an oil change that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, 1 hour for spark plugs that shouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes to replace, 1 hour for a transmission drain and fill on a v4 that shouldn't take more than 45 minutes, etc. I had to take the car back to reprogram a Tire Pressure Monitor System unit that they didn't program properly the first time and to attempt to reflash a radio that they screwed up when replacing the Body Control Module. The fixed the TPMS unit but not the radio. Then I had to take back the car again to fix a slapping windshield wiper. Then I had to take back the car a third time to replace a rear light bulb that they never caught on a full inspection, and I was charged $129 for. I thought that perhaps a socket was corroded or there was wiring work needed, but no, it was .8 hours of labor work (48 minutes) for labor that probably took 5 minutes. (Even worse, I specifically stated to Taylor that if a bulb was burned out on the left side of the vehicle that Hale's should replace the right side too to save on labor costs. Then when I called to pick up the car, they didn't tell me the price over the phone and Taylor stated that she "believed" that bulbs on both sides were replaced. When I brought up the discrepancy in person, she said that I would need another labor charge just go fix their error that they already charged me $129 for.) If all that wasn't enough, I actually had to call them twice for a pickup the first time they fixed the car because the driver didn't show up after 45 minutes. This review wouldn't post on Google reviews (which is constantly censored now), so I'm posting it here.
