As always, we are blown away by the architecture and cozy seating. Our server was pleasant but it seemed she had tables in other sections of this vast dining room. It was hard, if not impossible to get her attention. There was one bus person who visited our table only once during a one and a half hour meal. The food was presented well and delicious. My friend loved the pirri pirri sauce on the Cornish hen and I loved the selection of veggies! The salmon was perfectly cooked. It is a lovely establishment but customer service could be improved.

I loved the historical charm of this place, especially during the holiday season, with all the Christmas decorations and a diferently adorned Christmas tree in almost every corner, room, and floor of the venue. One section of the hotel (with the large half-spiral wooden staircase) reminded me of a section of a castle from the Medieval era. There were many rooms for events, weddings, and various functions. The lobby itself was decked out with festive holiday décor. The afternoon tea reservations are hard to come by (especially the themed one - Winter Wonderland), so we were glad to snag one of the last few remaining spots (even though we booked early, weeks before the reservation date). Everyone got called by reservation name and escorted to an assigned table by a personal server, who explained the historical significance of the afternoon tea tradition at the Old Mill. I thought that was a nice touch. When arriving at the assigned table, the menu was already personalized based on whether you had the regular, vegetarian, or vegan menu. We opted for vegan menu (had to call in and request it at least 48 hours in advance). The server then took our tea selection, and shortly came back with the pots of tea and our afternoon tea tower (savoury sandwiches, scones, and desserts). The vegan Winter Wonderland Afternoon Tea menu consisted of: SANDWICHES - Cucumber & Vegan Cream Cheese Sandwiches (delicate finger sandwiches with sliced cucumber and herbed vegan cream cheese) - Grilled Vegetables Sandwiches (grilled zucchini, bell peppers, asparagus, and red onion, tossed in herbs - served on rosemary focaccia bread) - Field Mushrooms with Pesto Sandwiches (field mushroom duxelles with pesto, vegan cream cheese, and mustard - served in brown bread) - Roasted Golden Beets & Vegan Pesto Goat Cheese Sandwiches (roasted and pickled golden beets, vegan pesto goat cheese, and arugula - served in dark rye bread) SCONES - Caramelized Leeks & Vegan Cheddar Scones - Eggnog, Dry Cherry, and White Chocolate Scones DESSERTS - Pomegranate & Dark Chocolate Yule Logs - Coconut & Raspberry Travel Cake - Chestnut & Vanilla Snowflake Chocolate Verrine - Peppermint Macarons All of the savoury were delicious and quite filling. My favourites were the Grilled Vegetablese and Field Mushrooms sandwiches. I found the scones were too dry (not a big fan of scones in general), and the desserts were pretty but too sweet for me. The server came by our table a few times to refill the pot of tea with hot water, and asked how we were doing. The room was nicely decorated with all things Christmas, and I liked the comics / historical mini posters on some of the walls. Overall it was a great afternoon tea experience at a historical inn in Toronto.

I was staying at the hotel that this restaurant is located in, so it only made sense to trybit out. I'm really glad I did! On the menu, it's called the Reef and Beef. 8oz ribeye cooked beautifully. But clean and rooms appear to have had a "facelift". Didn't try out the onsite restaurant and bar, "Driftwood". Full size Starbucks in the lobby is a great touch. The "Pantry" on the 14th is a smaller room with drinks, snacks and some breakfast items. Other larger Delta properties have more full blown staffed Marriott Concierge Lounge or M-Club, this does not. As others have stated the parking garage is small, but close nearby and have tight turns if you have a big truck. Costs are $15 CAD/night. There are 3 spots right by the front door for checkin, with signage for them. Don't believe there is any upgraded room layouts available, as the best available is on the 14th floor "pantry" room with a non blocked view of the Marilyn Monroe towers and Square One mall :-) In our room there don't appear to be any outlets in the bathroom oddly enough. All in all, not bad for the location and price with the right expectations.

As far as the hotel itself is concerned, it's a basic, no fancy style. The staff is really nice and the amenities are minimal (maybe it's the Marriott thing). The breakfast buffet is mediocre in variety. I asked for an egg white omelette which was extremely greasy and had yolks. They charged me $4.49 for my coffee on day 1, $3.50 on day 2 and $1.53 for day 3. For-the-exact-same-coffee. I think it was a little nuts. I called the front desk to ask about this strange coffee pricing anomaly and they didn't seem to get it.

Truly a pet friendly hotel -- though there was a pet fee, it was a very reasonable flat $20 fee. Unfortunately this was a very quick trip in and out to take one of our dogs to the local Ontario Veterinary College for an MRI. I hope to return sometime for a longer stay to enjoy the hotel's amenities and relaxing atmosphere. We had a room with two queen beds that was larger than the typical hotel room. There was a small refrigerator and a very long desk. There was a cordless phone and an alarm clock that not only showed you the time on the front but also displayed the time on each side so you could see it as you were lying in bed. We were surprised to find a nice note from the manager welcoming us as a Marriott Rewards member. We were using a certificate for 1 night's free stay and as a thank you for choosing their hotel we had a delicious plate of fresh berries and exquisite chocolate as a welcoming gift. The bathroom area was separated by a pocket door so that the toilet and the shower tub combination are separate from the sink and two very large mirrors which were great for putting on makeup and having counter space for your Essentials. I don't think the hotel was very full on a Sunday night, I found the rooms to be very quiet and relaxing. All of the staff welcomed our three dogs and seemed very happy to have them there even sharing photos with us of their own dogs. Why not 5 stars vs. 4? Sorry, I'm spoiled by hotels that always have coffee/tea available in the lobby and complimentary breakfast. I'm not ready to pay $15.95 for a buffet breakfast. The hotel's location is also very convenient as it is literally adjacent to the University of Guelph campus, 5 minutes to the Ontario Veterinary College, in less than 10 minutes to the downtown retail/restaurant area.

The same applies if you're flying to/from Terminal 1. The train between the terminals is easily accessible from the hotel and there's no need to walk out at all. This is far more convenient than taking an airport shuttle. This was a godsend for my family while we were traveling to the Caribbean in November. No need to lug the winter jackets around, as we just left them in the car. Parking is a little confusing, as it's on the 5th (highest) level of the Terminal 3. You'll eventually get there, but might need to follow the signage closely and involves making many turns in a narrow parking lot. Once you're on the 5th floor, there was plentiful parking close to hotel entrance. It's $38 a day with no in-out access. So if you're planning to visit or drive out more than once, maybe pick a different hotel. The amenities seem nice at the Sheraton and it seems like it's undergone a recent renovation as everything looked very new and up-to-date. The lobby is open concept and spacious with lot of seating areas. It's well lit and inviting. The restaurant and bar space seem modern and easily accessible. We opted for lounge access, but did not fully utilize it as we arrived late in the day. However, it was still nice to pick up some fruit and drinks to the room before bed. The less busy lounge space for breakfast was also a nice touch. It's also very nice that breakfast is served as early as 530am and the main kitchen is open until 1am. This is convenient for people who arrive late and leave early from the hotel. We found room service to be good and efficient. We ordered via QR code on our phone and received the meal in room in about 20 minutes. I was honestly impressed by the turnaround. The food was also good (considering we ordered for our two toddlers as well). The rooms themselves were fine. Nothing fancy, but the bed and linens were comfortable. The shower had good water pressure. My kids loved having the runway view of all the planes and the terminal train. Overall, I would definitely (and probably will) stay here again.
