An urgent care centre (UCC) provides care for non emergency injuries and personal health issues. Sprains, cuts, rashes, broken fingers etc for example, as well as blocked catheters, urinary retention and post surgical complications if needed. Emergency care is provided at another site, as is inpatient care. This site provides investigative and pre operative work up, as well as rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. An army of knowledgeable volunteers and clerical staff ensure you are seen in good time. The UCC practices triage, so less urgent cases may wait a long time for treatment. These cases could probably get seen at a walk in clinic or at their own doctors. Properly utilized this can be a one stop shop. Before I retired as an RN I referred patients here appropriately and they received good care. My wife had her follow up care here after her knee replacement, and I have cardiac investigations done here. The one down side? The cost of parking, although options are available to reduce the cost for frequent attenders.

My previous experiences with this hospital were not very good at all, quite the opposite and in the negative. This experience was much better, was able to hop around and find a wheelchair no problem. The staff were super friendly and worked with a sense of urgency, when it all was said and done, the visit took about 3 hours, the only thing that I have negative to say was that the doctor at the time read my xray wrong and I got a phone call the next day telling me very bad news. The hospital was very clean and bright. Lots of parking on site Transit options are the 123 and 80 buses, and the 15 with a bit of a walk from the mall.

Hi and Good Day to staff:…read more I am writing a review of this hospital since I have been very rarely in the last 10 years. I had to get treatment yesterday and, the staff were polite and, it has not changed much since Covid-19 and, it has not changed much. I was there for more than 6 hours and, I had to speak to a doctor after almost 6 hours-I had not been there for treatment very sparingly over 10 years. I know of a staff member who has been employed more than 15 years. I am impressed by the staff and, their kindness and, I left feeling a lot different and, I told the doctor that I was not sick. I had to speak with 4 doctors and, it went well as it did with the nurses. Keep up the great work team!!. A special thank you to the Special Constables-Errins, and, Boretta.

I called and I even showed up there in person coz I'm literally in so excruciating pain as I had mentioned but no accommodations could be made coz I had suggested that maybe I should go to a walk in clinic since my doctor could not see me. This was a very disappointing experience and at the end of the day we are all human and we all fall sick. It's already a nerve wrecking experience going to see a doctor, and it does not help when the people that are supposed to help you make that happen treat you like just another number. There was no sympathy, nothing. I'm really disappointed and I would never want anyone feeling the way I am be treated like that. I hope they do better!

I visited the clinic in person to book my first appointment. I let them know what I wanted to have looked at, then they promptly scheduled me in with one of their available doctors. They appear to have enough doctors on staff that finding openings isn't the hassle it often is. During my first appointment, I let my doctor know that I was experiencing some knee pain. I further explained that I couldn't quite pinpoint the causal event. After some short conversation about the type of pain, where it was located specifically, a discussion of what activities would aggravate the injury, and direct stimulation of the area, she was able to identify the cause and explain to me in approachable terms what the injury was. But what good is a diagnosis without relief, right? The first treatment started with some massage therapy to the knee and surrounding muscles. She then made use of a "shock therapy" machine, which is a tool used to rapidly impact the injured area, thereby breaking up scar tissue. What I'm told is a "class four" laser was used to stimulate healing. Importantly, she also introduced me to several exercises, meant to strengthen associated muscles so that I could avoid a similar injury in the future. To be honest, after the first appointment, I didn't feel much difference if any, but regardless, I gave it a second go, and thank God I did. We essentially went through the same procedure again, and as if by magic (but actually science) I felt zero pain by the end of the session. Sadly I'm not Wolverine, so this complete relief was temporary, but the progress was undeniable. All in all the experience was very positive. I should say that I've never been to see a chiropractor prior to this experience, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That being said, I think they do fine work here, and I'd be happy to recommend them.

I sprained my neck on the Go Train (yes on the Go Train, can you believe that?!) prior to my business trip and I felt very uncomfortable. My whole neck, shoulder and upper back were so tight. Thank god I found Dr. Choi and Dorothy Ho! Dr. Choi is a chiropractor at this clinic and she knows her stuff, a few shock here and there with the machine (I don't have a science background!), massage and neck adjustment really eased the tension a lot. She also teaches you a lot of stretch moves to strengthen the impacted area so you feel better quicker and prevent future injuries better. To help speed up the recovery process, she introduced me to the RMT that works at the clinic also, Dorothy Ho. Dorothy Ho is probably one of the best massage therapists i had, the initial visit assessment was very detailed and once you lay on the massage bed just a few push here and there and she already knows which area is tight and require a work on. She did my whole upper back, shoulder and neck so well that I felt a lot better the next day despite the soreness. Overall, MSK clinic is very professional, clean and client oriented! This will now my go to place to get my massage and chiro treatments! Make sure you call to make an appointment in advance!

Within a few sessions I was feeling so much better. The staff at Synergy cares about what they do and wants to help the patients. My therapist took the time to ask me all kinds of questions about why I was there and what my specific goals were for seeking out physiotherapy. They did hands on manual therapy to ease tension in my back and neck, explained to me why I was having the pain and what I could do about it on my own. I really loved that my physio took the time to send me an email link with a customized home exercise program videos that I could easily follow on my own. All in all the clinic experience has been the best I have experienced. One more great thing is that the clinic is within a 2 minute walk of the Woodbine subway station and is right on Danforth.

I did some research and discovered Synergy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and liked that it was near the subway and that people in the neighbourhood recommended it so highly. I showed up in a medical boot with laryngitis (which I got the day before, damn it) so I wrote up all the details so my physiotherapist Jesse Awenus could get a good take on my particular situation since I literally could not speak for myself. I will admit that when I showed up that it was not just my ankle and throat that were broken. I hated walking in there so 100% vulnerable but it had been three weeks since I hurt my foot and it was no longer improving at all. As someone with fibromyalgia, any little injury can mean long term problems so I was just heartbroken. Jesse took my situation very seriously and was compassionate but tough in his belief that I can heal. His treatment was excellent and the exercises I went home with for homework were very effective. I went from being scared to do anything to make the situation worse to confidently working through the discomfort to build strength. He is clearly a highly trained healer that took my sorry grumpy pants ass and made me believe I could walk again. The photo with me wearing the black shoes was taken the first day I went for a walk without the boot, just a couple of weeks after treatment. I even felt comfortable enough for him to do manual manipulation which ended up realigning my foot dramatically. If I could afford to keep going every week, I would. Jesse did his best with the time and budget I had to get me walking again which I am! I even went on the subway yesterday for the first time. I have been to a lot of physiotherapist. I have never had a more positive experience. The space is bright, the people are friendly and the treatment is beyond impeccable. My only complaint is having to climb those stairs to get to Jesse's office but because the work he did was so impressive I will not hold that against the clinic. That said, there do seem to be offices on the main floor so please make sure that if you have severe mobility issues to call ahead to make sure the stairs will not be an issue. Thanks to Synergy Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation I can now get back to my foodie reviews! For the first time in a long time I have hope in my ability to heal. After being on an 18-year healing journey since my fibro diagnosis, that is, quite frankly, a miracle. ~ Suzie The Foodie

My family doctor isn't open for appointments on weekends and I felt that seeing a doctor was better than a virtual appointment. I found MEDCENTRE Health. It has an urgent care component for sprains and swelling. Perfect! I booked an appointment online for Saturday at noon. You simply fill out the form (you do need your Ontario health card details), do the COVID-19 screening questions, and select your time and date that you want. I showed up roughly ten minutes before my appointment. This clinic is in a rather busy parking lot that it shares with Markham Convention Centre and a bunch of other businesses. I found a spot as close to the clinic as I could and walked over. When I entered, there were many folks standing around. I figured out later that there were two sets of families there. They soon left the place. I lined up at reception. I then noticed a sign that said to register at one of the iPads. I found one after a man and another family had vacated that side of the wall. You need your Ontario health card to register. It was straightforward. A woman and her daughter behind me used the iPad next. The woman did not have an Ontario health card and it was not friendly to her. I decided to check with reception that I was indeed on the list to see the doctor. I was. The woman and her daughter had to do more work to get her on there. I sat down. There were a handful of seats. The man next to me was watching a video in Hindi on his phone at full blast. So rude. Maybe I'm far more respectful, but I'd be embarrassed watching a video with full-on volume in a public waiting area. I was not impressed. I got called to go into room 1. I thanked the woman. I got here and someone was already there. There was a female staff member who immediately helped lost me out. She spoke to reception and then had me go into room 1. I met the doctor on staff who was there. He was friendly and said that he'd be with me soon as he went to the next room. I got a nurse who diagnosed my issue with my left wrist. I like that you get an assessment with a nurse before seeing the doctor. This place prides itself on shorter wait times. It's true, albeit subjective. I got whisked away to a room in roughly 25 minutes. That was cool. I saw a doctor fifteen minutes after that, with a nurse visit before that. It's not bad compared to seeing my family doctor. My doctor was competent and reassuring. He pressed on my wrist area. He confirmed that I have wrist inflammation. I have a form of wrist tendonitis likely due to my daily work tasks. He got me a prescription for anti-inflammatory medication and a wrist-thumb splint. I'm on monitor mode for two weeks, wearing the splint practically all the time and taking my medication. I thanked him, fetched my prescription at reception, thanked the two women there, and headed to my car. I had a great experience here under the circumstances. It beats heading over to a walk-in clinic without an appointment and waiting for hours. (201)

About 10 years ago, I was being 'a boy' and rough housing with some pals and fell a certain way causing a full posterior dislocation of my left shoulder (in lay-mans terms, I popped my shoulder 100% out of the socket on impact to the back before it fell down). I don't need to describe the pain I went through in the moments, days and weeks that followed. I had physio at the time to strengthen and correct the injury as best as I possibly could. Thankfully, unlike many other people who've done the same, I've never re-injured it. Touch wood. However, I've I gotten older, I've begun to suffer from chronic ongoing aches and pains in the same shoulder as well as tingling in my fingers and occasional shooting pains, equally not fun. I ended up getting a referral to West Park to have some physio done on my shoulder to see what could be done. After an $80 initial assessment I was put through weekly exercise and ultrasound treatments to help fix the scar tissue that had built up and strengthen the are. After about 10 treatments, I was happy with my progress and took to continuing my exercise at home. It's been about 4-5 months since my last session and while I still get occasional moments of discomfort, which given my injury is expected, the overall condition of my shoulder is much better than before. Pro-tip: if you're considering physio, understand that doing your assigned exercises as often as prescribed is as important as taking antibiotics as directed when you're sick. It's essential and requires as much dedication on your part. Thanks again Rehab Plus!
