WHY HAVE I ONLY SCORED THE queens View 2 stars when there are amazing views?
On arrival it was rainining cats and dogs. We Decided as we were hungry to get something to eat and drink and wait for the weather to move on.
Lentil or sweet potato soup on the menu with bread? Both soups arrived barely warm, the girl serving was very receptive and said she would sort it out. On return the soup bowls now had a congealed soup ring around the top of the bowls. Both flavours were bland and forgettable. The bread could not have been cut any thinner running the risk of being able to look through it. I looked over to the counter where the big soup earn pots sat. I was starred at by the beared server behind the counter. As he ladled more soup which I will admit had steam rising off the ladle he followed my every move making me feel very uncomfortable. The way he was looking at me he had taken my retuning the luke warm soup personly.
Therefore the start of my experience was put on a shaky footing.
On a positive note;
The cafe is a large bright open plan cafe with a great selection of tasty cakes with a hot drink for less than £4.00. Lots of cakes to choose from, lemon drizzle, whisky cake, Victoria sponge, brownies etc.
With easy access paths to the viewing platform this is great for wheel chair users and pushchairs if you have children.
The view is amazing as you look down Loch Tummel and over the mountains.
The visitor centre is small but has some interesting facts.
My recommendation is go and see this fab view but take a pack lunch with you or just have the cake and coffee as it was good. Xoxo read more
