Good selection of craft beers - check Nice wines - check Places to sit, not just stand - check Live music sessions - check Friendly staff - check Delicious food - check Board games - check It also allows dogs, and they have water bowls for them if you have a dog or want to go and coo over someone else's! We went for a Sunday roast and it coincided with when they had a live jazz band playing. It's quite shabby chic, but really quite big. There's a room out the back which is more of a dining room but we stayed in the front bit as that's where the music was. It was busy but we got a table and people came and went so there was normally space for those arriving. The roast dinner was the best I've probably ever had out, certainly in London and at £12 each it wasn't bad at all. There was so much meat (we both had the lamb) and it was so tender and juicy. It had the largest, tastiest homemade Yorkshire pudding I've ever seen, crispy goose fat roast potatoes and perfectly cooked parsnip, carrots and cabbage. It had really delicious gravy too. The drinks were cheap and the jazz band were brilliant. When they weren't playing, there was a guy in the corner with decks playing LPs. There have been some comments on here from other reviewers about the toilets. The ladies were really clean and nicely decorated so may have been refurbished recently. My boyfriend went to the men's and said they weren't the best but not that bad so they may have had some work recently too. This pub is really handy for Forest Gate station and also Wanstead. We had a lovely walk around Wanstead Flats before going to the pub so there's lots to do if you travel to the area. We'll definitely be visiting a lot more.

So I had the beef pie instead. The beef pie was good with the side of mashed potatoes, but like a few girls I know would say, I've had better. Overall, a good place, especially for the location and I, will try it again. hopefully on my second visit, I will be able to get the Sunday roast, and hopefully, it will be worth another star in my review.

First of all, it's actually off a main road on the very edge of Tottenham and not far from the resevoirs and lakes nearby. Okay it boils down to this: the food here is damn good! close your eyes for a sec - now think of all typical British pub food and think of them done very, very well. If you like some of what's in that imagination, then go to the Ferry Boat. The steak is particularly good and their desserts will surprise you a lot! The strawberry cheesecake there beats the undies off most fancy cake shops in the city. The atmosphere is good, no rowdy or shady characters here (apart from me of course~!) should make for a decent meal out with friends; a nice and spacious beer garden is also pretty good if the weather is nice (yep, all 4 good days of the year!) The only downer is the fact that the furniture is a bit off compared to the otherwise exceptionally nice interior (with woodfire and country house feel). The chairs are at times rickety, and some pretty mismatched and gawdy. It says 3 stars on top but I'd give it 3.5. I wouldn't cross the city to dine here, but if you want a safe choice and are nearby then check it out. Ash

I decided to come by here on my recent whirlwind 3 night trip to London in December, just because…read morethey had a vegetarian (and, sometimes) vegan option for their Sunday roast dinners. I was a little confused by their ordering process, not realizing that you had to go up to the bar to place your food orders, which the waitstaff will then bring to your table. Being a bar and all, they had an impressive selection of beers and ciders, and, if I can recall correctly, at least 5 different types of roasts available for dinner. I opted for their vegetarian roast, which consisted of some sort of soy and carrot mixture. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect a Sunday roast to be, but after getting my food, I immediately realized that it was like a Thanksgiving day meal back home in the states. I had roasted potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce with my veggie roast, which are pretty standard to a Thanksgiving day meal. The Yorkshire puddings, however, was what made it distinctly English. It's a bit out of the way from Central London, but I think this place is worth visiting if you're hankering for some sort of Sunday roast. Fun, friendly staff in a divey kind of bar setting. Prices were also reasonable and the portions were huge. All the right components for a good meal and dining experience, if you ask me.
