This is one of my favourite stands at the market. Urban Farms are a pretty awesome idea (although exceptionall hipstery), and a lot of cities around North America and Europe are being transformed into productive hodge-podges of herbs and plants and fruits and veggies. It's a brilliant thing. If they could keep the cost a bit lower I think it would be more accessible to everyone, but Urban Farms are pretty awesome and this is one of the best Urban Farm Stands I've checked out. It is located in the municipal lot located behind businesses on Buffalo and Main streets, home of the original Farmer's Market. The Village Community Market is focused on all different aspects of the community and has live music. Included here are many artisans such as crafts, homemade greeting cards, meats, home made play dough, t shirts and organic wines. There are food trucks, fresh juices, baked goods and wine slushies along with the standard farm fresh fruits and veggies. Other community partners and businesses are also present including a local dance studio, Feed Hamburg and the local church/ catholic school. It is wonderful to see so many different areas of the community come together as one every Saturday morning.

I'd usually get the Mac and cheeses, but recently i finish class at 11:00 and don't feel like eating cheesy Mac and cheese and wanted to try the loaded tots. I'm a huge fan of tater tots but I asked them to swap out the bacon to grilled chicken for me. The grilled chicken had bits of bacon in it. This never happened when i would get the grilled chicken with my chicken Caprese. So I thought it was maybe a mistake so I asked them to remake it and guess what? Bacon bits again in my grilled chicken. That felt terrible as a Muslim who can't eat bacon. I threw out the food but here's a picture of the bacon bits in my food and i don't know how many consumed before I noticed. This is so disheartening.

True, not a lot is in season right now, but I couldn't find staples like cabbage, bell peppers, etc. I saw spinach, radishes, some summer squashes, asparagus, lettuce and beets. Everything mostly from just one seller. The strawberries definitely looked gorgeous at the stand where I bought a dozen eggs. This guy also had asparagus, leafy greens, garlic scapes, and honey. I noticed that the honey came from Fredonia, New York. Anyway, the last time I bought colorful eggs was at the North Tonawanda City Market. All of them were stinky bad. I felt scammed. This time I took a chance, still remembering my unfortunate purchase. I'm telling you, these eggs are super tasty. I'm an egg snob, so I know:). Some day, I'm definitely going back for more. What else did I see? There was coffee available and some snacks. Orso Nero Pizza Truck. 12 Flat Mushrooms. Flowers. Meat. Bagels. Wine. Anastasia's Bakery, and more 'artisan' kind of stuff I don't remember right now. The sourdough bread from The Heritage Kitchen At Plato Dale Farm, looked really good. I'm glad I purchased one of their loaves. It's made with whole wheat flour so it's a bit more dense, but the taste and overall product is decent. I just wonder whether any of the sourdough starters in my fridge are still usable. Baking bread takes time and care. It was money well spent. So, I brought home just bread and eggs, the perfect combination. A soft-boiled egg with toasted bread and butter for breakfast is one of the simple pleasures in this world.

The way it works is stupidly simple. You place the order online, and are promised the box of groceries on your doorstep within 72 hours. I was delighted to see the place I live in Niagara Falls fell within their 15-mile delivery radius as well. I placed the order 11pm at night and the next morning by noon had the box delivered on my doorstep. The gentleman who delivered it left a voicemail that he was almost there. I missed him, but when I went to my doorstep saw the box! It included flat 12 mushrooms and incredible eggs. I thought $30 was a very fair value for all included, especially with the delivery. I've already told some friends who have ordered from them...and it's all thanks to Frank's initial review! Thanks to him, I placed an order as well and had a wonderful experience getting some produce from this place!

They pivoted their business model and I am so glad they did. Now we have a source for fresh, delivered produce at a time when we need more than ever to be eating healthy, nutritious food. Do be warned, quantities are large for many items. But you can always share. Have them delivered to you and then friends or family can pick up their share from your step. It's also a great time to stock up on things to freeze, dry, or can. So far, I've gotten cucumbers, green peppers, tomatoes, and red grapes. The quality of everything was good. Obviously it's fresh produce, so you'll want to check through because there's always a bad one here or there. That's normal. But on the whole, I felt very good about the quality of the food I received and I will absolutely be ordering more. I may or may not have ordered my produce at 1:30 in the morning. (I mean, why not?) The free delivery was fantastic. It says within 72 hours and I had it by 5:30PM. I was very impressed. Cannot recommend Produce Peddlers enough. Thorpe's is well known for grass fed beef, organically raised turkeys, hens and eggs. Many people participate in Thorpe's Food Coop, purchasing "shares" of produce.
