Their preschool classes are great to get kids active, learn body control and strength and flexibility, and just have a good time. I didn't expect that my oldest was going to fall so hard for the sport but last year she did Pre Team and this year she is in her first year on the Xcel Team and she loves it. I didn't know a kid could spend six hours in the gym each week and not get bored or tired of it but she's never once said she was either. The coaches that have been there for some time are really great. They have the correct approach to building a solid team and encouraging positivity and confidence. They move from one activity to the next to keep kids engaged. They assist when needed but also allow for independence. My oldest has grown in her skills but also in her ability to take direction, be a strong member of a team, and in her confidence. I expect we have many more years at SGA. Yes, it can be difficult to get into some classes and yes, they can have high turnover in staff, but once you find your right fit there and stick with it, it has a great welcoming feel to it.

There is NOBODY there. Climbing outside it way fun! If the staff sees that it isn't going to rain, they set up the top rope routes outside, but if there is a chance of rain, they only make the outside available to those who lead climb. The lead climb certification process is smooth and worker staff here are so nice! Every month I pay $141 all together for me and my wife. This isnt a terrible price at all for where we live and all that you get at this gym. Come try it out and enjoy your time!

They can really exercise with them :) It gets funnier by the middle of the pool with them :) Perfect depth to swim :) Clean water. Kids can also have some fun by the playground or sandpit! It has lots of toys inside it. They have to work a bit to get them out. I wish parks and Rec could have them out most of the time. At the same time is a good way to preserve them? :D Restrooms are just a few steps by the pool :) Don't forget not to run by the pool. Parking was easy this time just infront of the wading pool by a shade :) Cars coming both ways in narrow streets.

Every time you walk in or out of the door, somebody says hi and that they hope you have a good day. I've belonged to some of those big corporate gym chains, and this is a very different vibe. Weight room: They've got pretty much any machine you could want in duplicates, but you might have to wait for free weights, bench press, squat bar, etc. Especially if you're there in the early afternoon while the high school DUDES are there. The space isn't especially huge, but if you're willing to be a good neighbor then it works out fine. Pool: several lanes, never swam there. Sauna: !!!!!! This is how I plan to survive the winter. Unfortunately, it's teeny tiny, but I've never seen it super full. The whole facility is always full of families with kids, older folks, high school students--really a great mix. My only complaint is parking--that little lot is usually stuffed full during the after-work rush about 5-8 pm. It's hardly their fault, not like they could really have a big lot right in the middle of that neighborhood.

The weigh room is ALWAYS filthy -- dusty fans and floors. Not sure if they clean the studios and showers. The bathrooms are not that clean as well. I've seen urine and feaces on the floor and the showers upstairs don't look clean either. They really should hire a cleaning staff that cleans regularly throughout the day especially since so many people come through. The plus side is most of the instructors are great and the pool is clean. There's also a lot of community events like clothing drives and back to school donations that are great.

Wish they had lap swim hours in the morning (not counting the early swim, 6 - 7:30 am) but I know it's a city pool and other pool activities compete for use. I've tried the private pools at 24 hour fitness downtown and LA Fitness. Both have drawbacks. Parking and access at 24-hour isn't as good as the QA city pool and LA Fitness had too many lollygaggers and the serious lap swimmers had to wait for a lane.

Not sure if there was another lot somewhere, but they were full when we went. - The pool is pretty large, and I liked that the younger kids had their own shallow end of the pool to swim in, which was separate from the deep end. Even the deep end was split into a more play-ish area and a more serious-swimming area. - I got to try a rope swing for the first time! I feel like a REAL American now :D - The rope swing did mean that the serious swimming lane area was cut off... (but getting try a rope swing was worth it hahaha). - The locker room had plenty of lockers and enough showers and changing stalls for the mass number of people who were there at the end of the open swim period. I'd prefer single stall showers, but these were alright. - It'd be nice if there was a machine to dry my swimsuit :'( Maybe it's a safety thing because of the number of children? This is close enough that I'll likely be back (to help someone else fulfill their new year's resolution!).

It is some steps aways for the parking lot and playground but not that far. Part of it is under a tree, giving it perfect shade on those hot days. I think there are only 2 benches side by side, but you can always sit down on a concrete part near the pool. In fact, it was the perfect spot when the ice cream truck came on the street behind it and played it's song. We ran towards it. It was the perfect treat for the summer...and by the pool! Great for kids. They even get card now a days :D Very friendly families so kids can play with each other and share toys :)

My grandparents bought land in this area (Wedgwood) in the 1940s and built their own house. The…read moreland and house is still owned by family and the Dahl Playfield is a nearby field of choice when going for a walk from the house. When my mom was growing up this was a playfield she visited. In my lifetime, the Dahl Playfield has been a place I have visited for sports and as a place to go and meander and/or play with my family. The playfield is much greener than it used to be, the wading pool has remained the same. The skate park is a relatively new addition. It is not a park where I have felt unsafe in my visits. In my experience the fields, trails, wading pool, and playground have all been well maintained. There is a parking lot where you can park your vehicle if driving to the park on the 25th Avenue NE side of the park. My mom and my most recent visit to the playfield on 23 June 2020 after visiting the Wedgwood house we walked through the park and reminisced about how it has changed over the years. Lots of kiddos when we visited, tis the summer season though.
