Checked in on 08/16/25. Book a deluxe cabin # 76 for 6 nights. 1500.00 when we arrived our cabin was dirty. I went down the next morning to make the staff aware. We asked to be moved to a different cabin a clean one.I had to defrost the freezer to use it. Come to find out it just did not work. The assistant Manager came to our cabin what a rude unprofessional woman. She said we don't want the manager there to deal with him. I went down the next day with pictures and the bottle of medication from the previous guest. All they wanted to know is where did we find the meds. In the cabin should have been their only concern. Considering I was told that three different people check the cabins before the guest arrive. I asked to speak to the manager and was sent the assistant managers husband Joe. Now about the cabin. It had mold on the windows. Hair ball in the clean bedding. Air fan vents connecting the rooms are covered in gross lint/grease. Found what looked like a dead mouse under the bathroom sink. Huge I mean massive cobwed over the front door in the living room. Dirt on the window sills. Do not spend your money on any cabin from this establishment.

Just spent 3 days/2 nights here over fathers day weekend, and it a worthwhile stay. Typically we stay in a tent site, but this time we rented a cabin. The cabin was a decent sized spot with bunk beds for the kids, a microwave, coffee pot, sink, mini fridge, and full bathroom. It had heat and AC so it was really easy to adjust to whatever was most comfortable. Outside of the cabin was a stone patio with stone fire pit. Around the pit was 4 quality made Adirondack chairs. Next to that was a picnic table and a propane grill, which had propane provided to us. All we had to bring was our food, and pick up firewood. The KOA offered linen service for 10 dollars. The staff delivered sheets and blankets, and even offered to make the beds for us, which was a nice gesture. I think it's worthwhile if you're trying to cut down on the amount of stuff you're packing for a trip. They also sell firewood, which they will deliver to you as well. 3 bundles for $20.00. We bought some and the first bundle we tried seemed a little green. I mentioned it to the staff at the desk and they provided us with additional wood that was much more seasoned. On top of the wood they dropped off some extra kindling, and a fire starter. Also, they do a 10am curbside trash pickup at the sites, which is really convenient. Overall, I'd say this site excels in customer service, cleanliness, and location. They are a very welcoming group. The only downside, which isn't a HUGE downside, is that the sites can be a little cramped. So if you stay up late, and make a little bit of noise you may have some unhappy neighbors. In regards to the location, it's right off the highway, but you don't hear the highway. Gas station is less than a 1/4 mile away, and sells beer and wine. In the other direction Quechee Village, Gorge, and Woodstock are all within a reasonable drive.

I highly recommend staying at this campground if you're in the area of Quechee Gorge. It's an exceptionally clean campground. The staff is top notch friendly helpful great suggestions.

I rolled through this great state of Vermont and stopped at this campground. This KOA is impeccably clean and well kept. The free wifi was weak, but at least it really was free, unlike some KOAs. The bathrooms were ventilated and clean. New shower curtains and nice tiled bathrooms. It's as luxurious as a KOA gets. It's a bit expensive compared to the local state run campgrounds, which run only about $14 -16 for a tent site. But if you choose to roll deep like this when camping, you're gonna pay $35 plus tax. If you ain't willing to pay, don't play here. They do have boat rentals for their little lake for like $2/hr. It's nice to look at, but I'm not sure if I want to be swimming in that pond, though.

Everything about this campground shows that the owners take great pride in it. They have online bookings, text communications (including reservation and quiet time reminders) and they have recently added a checkin booth so you don't have to hop out of your vehicle to go into the office to register. The views of the lake are gorgeous (especially in the Fall) and the landscaping is well maintained. There are several amenities like a pool w/ water slides, dog park, beach, fishing dock, dog swimming dock, paddle boat/kayak rentals, playground and oversized chess/checkers. You can also order homemade muffins to pick up in the morning for breakfast. Their campground store is also one of the cleanest and most well stocked ones that I've ever seen. The prices were also very reasonable (although I really wanted a hoodie as a memento and $40 was just a little more than I was comfortable spending). The biggest negative of this campground is that if you have one of the sites near the front there is quite a bit of road noise. That kills a bit of the ambiance while trying to kick back and relax but the beautiful views from the sites near the front mostly make up for the sounds of loud vehicles passing by. It's also not enough of a nuisance to rate them any lower than 5 stars. In addition to regular camping sites they also offer yurt and cabin rentals which is a nice option for people who don't own camping gear or aren't fans of traditional camping. If you're looking for a lovely place to get away Mountain Lake Camping Resort is an excellent choice!

Kind of exciting driving up and seeing a couple old campers set up like it was part of a theme park. Getting toward the office the road splits into a nice paved 3 lane rd. Excellent if there a few people checking in. The office is well presented, and an arcade next to it is a pristine 200 yr old barn. The roads were well maintained as it turned to dirt and gravel. No rain made potholes a very nice drive. The sites as we drove by were awesome. This place has great large deep private sites, angled very well for easy docking. The site we had 210 was a damn good site. Not far walking distance from office pool and other amenities. Trees were nice and solid and it was large enough for us to do extra. The fire pits were awesome, all large stones with others built up.. excellent on that one moosehillock. Everyone walking by had great attitudes, excellent vibes. Well except that one dude looked at me walking by jealous of my blackstone. Cons to get through quick cause we didn't have much. At $12 a bundle for wood, little steep usually paying $4-6 at other campgrounds. BUT!!!!! you can bring your NH born wood from wherever so that's a plus. No cell service but wifi if you are down around the office. By the way I met a camp worker David who was very professional and helped with every question and matter we had. 100 acres, over 500 sites to stay at rv cabins tents. This is a great place. We plan to go back next summer in season to check out the pool and other accommodations. Recommended for now. Update next season.

Sandy Beach Campground

Sandy Beach Campground

There were plenty of events, live bands, and activities for kids, and along the way, I made lifelong friends. For a long time, it truly felt like a community. Unfortunately, as the years went on, the experience steadily declined. The family-friendly events diminished, the bands became fewer, and the overall sense of community fun disappeared. What didn't decline, however, were the prices -- in fact, they rose significantly year after year, while the value provided shrank. In addition, more and more restrictive rules were placed on seasonal campers. This drove many long-term families to leave, and weekends that used to be full -- like Labor Day and the Fourth of July -- are now marked by empty sites. Sadly, I too have decided to leave after 13 seasons. For context, next year's seasonal fee for my site would have been over $8,000 plus taxes. On top of that, the campground instituted a troubling policy: you cannot sell your camper on-site without passing an "inspection." This inspection is not carried out by licensed professionals, but by staff with no clear qualifications. If your camper doesn't pass, you're forced to remove it by crushing and dumping it -- even if someone else might want to fix it up and enjoy it. This is wasteful, unfair, and puts families at the mercy of subjective decisions. After 13 years of loyalty, it's disheartening to see how far Sandy Beach has strayed from the place it once was. I can no longer recommend it to families looking for the kind of community and value that originally drew me here.

Every morning we'd wake up to them doing their rounds and maintaining the sites. They were all very kind to us and our dog. Overall the KOA is impressive. Lovely tent camping sites, a beautiful well maintained field for kids to play and clean facilities all around. When it comes to our site, we were disappointed. We were in site 18 which when parking to give ourselves a place to hangout next to the fire pit put us basically right on top of our neighbor. (Check out the pictures - the only view we had from our window was their camper) Our hangout spot near the fire pit was right next to our other neighbors so it basically felt like we were all hanging out together. The worst part for us was the highway right through the trees is highly trafficked at all hours of the day and night. Yes we heard tractor trailers at 3 am. It was so loud from traffic at times we couldn't hear each other speaking. This area of the KOA made us feel like we were at a rest stop on the side of the highway instead of in the beautiful wilderness camping. We would certainly return but without a doubt would need to upgrade to the much more beautiful spacious sites in the back. If you plan to camp in an RV spot we recommend you do the same!

The folks who work at the KOA are SOOOO friendly and helpful. They greeted us when we arrived, gave us maps and codes to the bathroom/shower building, and hooked us up with wood and a small axe to cut it with! The Retro RV was absolutely charming. Based on other reviews, we came equipped with cleaning supplies. I think that the RV was sufficiently campground clean. There was no visible dirt, or stains anywhere and no off-putting odors. Nevertheless, we still cleaned the whole RV, especially the floor. I'm including this because I believe that the RV's sanitation would be adequate for most campers but you will have to invest a little elbow grease if you're a neat-freak like me. The RV had a pot and frying pan, plates, cups, utensils and really basic kitchen stuff. There was a cute little coffee pot, coffee and tea. There was a heater and an AC (or maybe it was a fan?), but we didn't use either during our trip the first weekend of October. The bed had vinyl padding that was in sections. We brought a queen sized mattress topper and cozy sleeping bags that fit perfectly over the vinyl and made it feel like home. I believe the vinyl padding would have been annoying to sleep on directly as it would have moved around and sagged in parts. Outside of the RV was a deck with a small table and chairs. We moved the chairs to the fire-pit and sat spent the bulk of our time sitting around it. We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows. I was especially delighted to discover that the RV had wifi! I hoped to write on my laptop sitting by the fire and the wifi sure helped a ton! Our favorite part of staying at this KOA was exploring Brattleboro. The town is incredible, quaint, hippie-ish and friendly. We loved the town so much that we were sold on the entire state of Vermont (this camping trip was our first time to the state). Conversely, the other campers at the campground seemed to be a bit more conservative for our taste. Compared to all of the rainbows in town our fellow campers had bumper stickers and flags that had less welcoming flair. It almost doesn't feel right to dock a star from this KOA because of the expressiveness of other campers, but I got the impression that this was the norm.
