I recently made the wrong decision of chosing the quays bar as a place to eat in with my 2 small children and 3 more adult friends ,when we arrived we asked for a table ,but at the time none were available so we told the girl we would order drinks and take them outside and wait for a table to come available ,the staff said theyd call us when it was ready .after about 20 mins another group came along and were also looking for a table, about 45 mins had now passed when one of the staff came out and called the group that had come along after us and seated them .by now my kids were saying they were cold and hungary so i went inside to see how come the other group had a table while we were still waiting.rudely the girl who had said she would call us told me she didnt have anything to do with the table service in there, which was confusing as she was the girl who said shed call us ,at this point a manager came along and asked what was wrong ,i explained the whole situation expecting an apology for the mix up ,but instead the manager was more rude and abrupt than the staff ,her tone was completely unproffesional and patrionising and i could see she didnt care if we ate there or not,she was more unpleasant to deal with than the staff, she was extremely cocky and made us feel as if were were unreasonable for complaining in the first place ,she told us the best she could do was have a table for us in another45mins ,how could i make a 3 and 4 year old child wait another 45mins so we had no choice but to leave after already spending quite a bit on drinks while waiting in the first place.so we left and went to the walter raleigh instead, were we recieved a warm and friendly welcome and delicious food.a little courtisity was all we wanted from the quays bar but it seems the manager felt she was above us and because the bar was busy our custom was not needed.Indeed a nasty and hurtful experince, one which i will teach my children not to treat others like that, and learn from our experience read more
