I suppose this is what you'd call my "local" in Great Yarmouth. I'd love to say I had a better…read morelocal but I don't. It's a Wetherspoons. In the fact it's a 'Spoons it should be obvious that they do cheap, medium quality food and cheap drinks. Certainly nothing to complain about there. I had an 8oz rump steak, chips, sauce, onion rings and a drink today for less than £8. There is really nothing to complain about. I've given it four stars because that's really a comprimise between 1 star when it's busy and 4 stars when it's not. For instance this evening, a Wednesday evening, I had a most superb night with my friends, we sat and drew and chatted and ate and it was jolly marvellous. There's no music and not empty but there's no worry about getting a table. All the good things about a pub. However when it's busy on a Friday or Saturday evening it's my idea of hell. Great Yarmouth is a horrible town and all the horrible people come out at the weekend to shout at you, drink too much and vomit everywhere. Forget trying to eat past 6pm as the place is totally rammed with locals spilling their drinks, arguing loudly and fighting. So yes, during the week it's a perfectly pleasant branch of 'Spoons with friendly bar staff, cheap food and drinks, a few regulars of the old and bearded ale-drinking variety and a good selection of corners to sit in. However, at the weekend it's too loud, the bar is way too busy, there's nowhere to sit and you may very well get stabbed.

I've wanted to visit this bar for years since I last lived here, but I only got the chance now. The…read moredecor is very much in the London trendy/hipster style and I absolutely loved it. I decided to get a pint of beer which was good as I expected and my boyfriend got the strawberry milkshake, which he really enjoyed but ended up drinking way too quickly. I think a bigger portion of that might be better. I think this is a great place to stop when out drinking or to have your last pint before going home if you've been out all day and it's getting late. Definitely a must go.

If you are a fan of tweeness then you deserve to make a pilgrimage to this bar where the clientèle is Norwich's hipster population, infact it would be a safe bet to say that between this bar and the Norwich Arts Centre is the epicenter of hipsterville in Norwich. Saying that it is super-friendly and quirky. The staff are very nice and the selection of live music and cabaret is very typical of Norwich's music scene (mostly acoustic guitar sets). There are stacks of Vice and various other fashion magazines hanging around as well as a pile of boardgames in the corner (Ive played many an intense game of Scrabble here). The drinks are a little expensive but this is balanced out by the fact it's genuinely a nice place to drink and some nights there is a cover to see bands but this is usually "optional". Conclusion; hipstertastic but ultimately nice.
