    ADA COMPLIANT SHOWER
    Jan L.

While the building was very clean and some of the staff were very nice, Great breakfast! I had real problems with the night clerk and the female manager. The GFI in my room kept tripping (7 times in a 2 night stay, shutting the power off to the room and bathroom. When I called the desk the first time it happened, the night clerk said"what do you want me to do about it?" He also failed to give me my wake-up call either morning. I am handicapped, and booked a handicapped room. The bathroom was a plain walk in shower, and the sliding door would not stay closed. So I had to try to balance myself and shower while holding the door closed. VERY UNSAFE as there were no grab bars, no seat, and the shower head was not adjustable!!!! When I complained to the day manager about all of the above, she told me that it was an old building, and that the shower met all ADA standards. She also told me that they had shower chairs available. I will try to post a picture of the shower vs a true ADA shower.

Large stains on couche and linens. Changed to a different room. New room also had big, gross, stained sheets. Plus other major problems.

Upon walking into our room, room 404, we immediately noticed the couch was stained, so no one wanted to sit down. Checked the beds and noticed large stains on the sheets. At this point we were so grossed out we called the front desk for another room. Second room had even bigger stains on the sheets. At this point, it was 1AM and we were so tired we just said, "Forget it. All of the rooms here must be like this." So, we pushed the stained parts away from us and tried to get some sleep. When I woke up the next day, I walked to the window in my socks and felt my feet starting to get wet. I looked down and noticed the entire floor was soaking wet. They gave us a basement room, room 109, and the floor of our hotel room is next to a hill, so ground water from outdoors was penetrating through the wall and into the flooring/carpet. So my socks were soaking wet. They did move us to another room, wasn't much better. It would be a one star experience if not for one employee. TOM, the chef. Whatever they're paying him, they should double it. His exuberant, fun personality makes the breakfast area warm and homey. His breakfast is good too. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, grits, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juice and more. Tom gets 5-stars.

Hands down, BEST Choice Hotel property I have stayed, other than a Cambria. But that may be pushing it. Customer service top notch, rooms excellent and location is great too for dining choices. I swore off the Choice Hotel property Quality Inn until now. What really got me was I checked YELP before my booking and seen the 4 star, it was automatic. Kudos

Very nice rooms. Price is reasonable. There is a large tv, computer desk, small fridge and a microwave. King size bed.

Hotel was very good. Complimentary breakfast was 5 star. The cook/server was worth the cost of the room.

Got to the hotel and up to our room and the room was not fully cleaned. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and finger prints on the stainless steel refrigerator. The worst thing was the floors - the grout is BLACK throughout the hotel. Absolutely filthy. You can see some parts up against the trim and in corners where it is a light gray and what the color should be. There were also visible stains on the carpet in our room. Tried to get the dishwasher going and couldn't do so. Ended up having to call maintenance who then had to call someone else. Our room was poorly stocked. No sponge, no extra toilet paper, no extra dishwasher detergent, no shampoo or body wash in the shower dispensers. At one point during our stay our kid got sick on one of the beds. We stripped the sheets and called housekeeping. They arrived quickly but when I asked for new towels we were told they don't have any more. I still don't understand how that is possible at a hotel. We traveled with small children and many of the kids channels on the tv did not work due to "no internet access". Chrome cast also didn't work. One of the two tv remotes was out of batteries. You really can just see the half hearted attempted to keep the place running. And possibly what they did to finish building. A family member stayed at the same hotel in a different room and she had a different shower head than us which had no water pressure. The furniture is bolted to the walls with L brackets secured to the outside of the furniture and the wall. We all showered and washed everything that was in the hotel as soon as we got home. Spare yourself and find a different hotel.

Very easy to book online and be sure to get a rewards sign up. We did a package that included pizza and pop, a chicken dinner at Zehnders, and a breakfast buffet for both mornings. The hotel is easy to spot next to Bronner's. The theme of gnomes and fairies is so adorable. Staff are awesome! They were so sweet to my daughter and us. Whether it was our waitress, lifeguards at the waterpark, or the front desk. We were able to check in early, so be sure to ask! Our room was one of the older rooms and was one of the ADA compliant rooms, which has larger doorways, no bathtub, a queen bed, and a seating area with a fireplace. The room decorations and everything in it are original. It's very desperately needs to get a facelift. The room was right off of the front desk in waterpark, so walking to the action only took a few steps. I noticed there is no recycling bin. There was a mini refrigerator, but the temperature control wasn't the greatest. Carpet was buckling. The seating area did have a pullout couch, but the couch itself was slippery with the fabric and pretty uncomfortable. Not sure how well house keeping was. There was a Nerf gun instructions paperwork behind one of our bedside nightstands. The water pressure was awesome. The bedding felt clean and the bed overall was comfortable. Housekeeping was able to give us a few more towels off their cleaning cart, which was nice. There is an arcade, but it's definitely not as big as the other hotel down the street. It's very crammed into one room. The pizza and cheese bread was absolutely delicious. Was not expecting that for a kid themed hotel. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, but the buffet items don't change. So the second day we were already kind of sick of the options. They do a nightly movie night in the lobby at 8 PM. If our daughter was older, we definitely would've snuggled up in the lobby to watch the movie. The waterpark was our favorite. Our daughter is just over two, and I was so surprised at how many things she was able to do. She even got to go on a waterslide with us, holding her to go down. Also, she was able to go down a waterslide all by herself, so she thought she was super cool! At the hotel down the street, there's barely anything for a two-year-old to do at their waterpark. She absolutely loved being able to wade in the water with the toddler pool going up to 2 feet. She also was brave enough to go under the big bucket that splashes. We stayed two nights and I think we went to the waterpark at least four or five times and she never got sick of it. There is a security checkpoint for the waterpark. Security will put UV light on your wristband to make sure it's not a fake also go through any bags that you're bringing into the waterpark. Do not bring towel towels, the waterpark provides towels for you. Additionally, they provide lifejackets. There are plenty of tables and chairs all along both water parks, the old side and the new side. The new side wasn't as toddler friendly. There was a small slide she could go down, otherwise there really wasn't much else for her to do. We had a great stay and I think with them updating all of the hotel rooms, I think Zehnder's is the place to be!

The first room I was given had hairs everywhere on the sheets, dirt smudges on the covers, and disgusting skin flakes everywhere. The second room I was moved to had hairs everywhere and little spiders in the sheets (see attached picture for one of the spiders I saw). I went down to the front desk and asked if house cleaning could change the sheets, or if I could be moved to another clean room. The front desk lady told me they had no house cleaning on staff at that time, and that she did not want to go up to the rooms and make sure the next one I got was clean. She then recommended I go somewhere else to spend the night. The filets were crispy and tasty, but not genuine English fish & chips. Our server was young and inexperienced (didn't know what a pale ale or IPA was), but was very attentive and cheerful. An older gentleman, who may have been the bartender, came to our table and gave us an oral history of the building, its owners and various quirks. The only drawback was all the stairs. It's not ADA accessible getting to and from the pub, where we had our reservations. There was a full flight of stairs to go down from the main floor.
