The truck was delivered to our home in Avon. We spent 3 days or so packing the truck and locking his belongings behind a barrier. It was picked up for delivery to Lander, WY on schedule. In approximately one week, my son had a rendezvous with the truck in Lander. After unpacking for 2 or 3 days, the empty truck was picked up. No extra charges, no surprises, everything arrived safely and unscathed. Very pleased overall. Everything promised was delivered.

With outside costs the full move came out to around 500$, and a little bit of my time to pack. I spent a good bit of time packing my dishes and other fragile items well. I also left a couple items behind (TV without a box + a family heirloom painting) to move by myself just so I knew there was no chance they could be damaged. Guys showed up on time, were careful with my belongings, and very efficient. No breaks to dishes or damage to furniture. They even helped me maneuver a 17ft uhaul through some tight alleys and loading docks, which was greatly appreciated. Only thing I wish was different was if they could prorate the labor costs. We got everything moved and unloaded into the new unit in the time window I scheduled, which was exactly what I hired them for because I could not do that myself. But I could have used 15-30 more minutes to help arrange furniture and whatnot. I couldn't bring myself to pay for a full hour for something that wouldn't take an hour with the guys helping, and which I could do myself with a little more effort. I definitely would've paid for a 15-30 extra minutes it took if they let me but wasn't gonna pay for the full hour. I would fully recommend, the guys showed up on time, did the job I hired them for, and did it without breaking my stuff at a better rate than any of the other movers I was looking at.

I came across Cross Country Long Distance and decided to contact them, they made me feel safe about my stuff arriving safely to California. I had a lot of things I needed to move ranging from books and clothes to heavy furniture like my bed frame and desk. The workers were very polite and helped me pack everything up in special packaging when needed. They carefully wrapped my valuables in these blanket type covers and put my loose items in i individual crates, which was really nice. Whoever answered got super defensive and pretty combative so here we are with the review. They keep letting me know they aren't liable for anything. Like cool, I'm not trying to get any money. They are lying below. I had pads. 2 packs of pads in the back of the uhaul. I said there were more in the basement if they needed them. One of the guys definitely asked if I had an S.O., said something about my toes (weird) and some other stuff. I'm obviously not going to say something while by myself with them standing right there. They will also hand you a "contract" that they believe to be legally binding, however it will be handed to you last minute and you'll be told to sign or they will leave. My advice is to review how toxic the owners responses are, take a picture of the u-haul they rent's license plate, and request verification of their "insurance and bonded" paperwork. What you do after they damage your belongings is call u-haul. They will provide you with all of the information directly. You then file with YOUR local magistrate under a civil matter. THEY ARE REGISTERED OUT OF BUCKS COUNTY. They take possession of your belonging's which encumbrances their auto insurance policy. Its the law. U-haul will have that on file and easily hand it to you :)

We could not be more disheartened than we are. Which is fine, if it doesn't change my quote, but what I was charged ended up being expodentially higher than what I anticipated based on the quote. Especially since I moved a majority of my items before they arrived. I had most of the items already ready and took apart and put together my bed itself. I even assisted helping move what I had left by loading the smaller items in my car. I moved most of the items before they even arrived so they had really only had the heavy/bigger items that I couldn't take myself. There were also 30 minutes I couldn't even find the movers, even after calling them. I had moved 6 minutes down the road but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive. I had driven back, double checked they got everything, locked everything up, came back to the new place, and still waited another 15 minutes. So they were off somewhere unknown to me. This also lowered my trust in their service. When I asked for an itemized receipt so I could double check how I was being charged, I never heard from them again. If you do decide to use this company, you should know that the quality is excellent because they take care in how your items are moved, their professionalism and communication is great but you may hear them complaining if items are heavy. I think the funniest comment I heard from them was "Everything is heavy Up in this Crib". I would recommend ensuring someone is there the entire time to ensure you track when they leave and when they arrive at the new location and have them itemize the receipt before sending you the bill. A vague receipt won't do to make sure you aren't overcharged.

He sent a contract for $11,200 which I thought was fair. I asked several times if there were any "hidden fees" and if that price included the entire move. The answer each time by Anthony was YES. The moving team got to our old home and packed (the actual movers were great). However, they left many items unloaded in the truck when they left for our destination (a 10 hr. drive). After they unloaded, I called Anthony to find out when they would load the rest of our items and deliver them. He wanted a seperate contract signed charging us an additional $6,000 for the items (so roughly an additional 1/3 for a few items!!!) I told hime NO! The price of the original contract was for the move of the entire home! Now we are in a time constraints to get the rest prior to selling our home. My husband has no choice but to drive 10 hrs. and figure out a way to get the rest. Total SCAM!

I contacted Abates and they agreed to help me. I gave them a window of 1 -3 pm as my estimated time of arrival in Morgantown. The owner contacted me at 1 pm and asked where I was. I reiterated that I would be there between 1 - 3 pm and the traffic was heavy due to it being a holiday weekend. I stated again that I would call when I was one hour away. At this time, I asked him again if I could count on him to assist me. He said yes, he would be available. I called him at 3 pm and said I was an hour away. I arrived at 4:30 pm. I went to the customer's house to let them know I was there. When I arrived, the customer stated that someone from Abates had already been there. The owner also told me he had been by. I did not authorize him to go to the customer house before my arrival. He had stated that it was a full 1 bd apartment and that when I finish packing and loading my truck and get to the piano, I can call him. I reiterated to him, that it was just the piano that I needed help with. After I spoke with the customer, I went back out to my truck and attempted to reach him without any luck. After my calling him 5 times, he finally responded via text saying he was on the other line and said it was too late - he would not be able to make it. This resulted in me not being able to pick up the piano, I had to return my advance for this job and lost the deposit for the piano crate. I drove 5 hours to pick it up, I had to get a hotel, I drove 5 hours back. This was not professional at all - all he had to do was tell me at any point that he was not available and I would have looked for other help. It is very hard to find help at 5 pm on the day before a holiday.
