I made our reservation online through the hotel website. We arrived in the afternoon after 3 so check in was a breeze. We were welcomed and the person at the front desk went over all the amenities with us. Our room was in their secondary building across the parking lot. This location is walking distance to hot springs. It is also pup friendly. We had our two small dogs with us. They slept well, as did we. The water pressure in their bathroom was amazing. The shower fixture was really neat too. It had several settings, one was like a waterfall. We had to check out really early in the morning before the office opened. I dropped our keys in the drop box and called after the office had opened. They had already gotten our keys from the drop box, check us out and emailed a receipt. I would stay here again. read more

This hotel gets one star for having outstanding water pressure. However, the checkin experience leaves a lot to be desired as it's in a building that appears to be collapsing. The building next door can only be improved by a bulldozer. Note: there is no elevator. There are other places to stay in Pagosa. Do so. Negative ratings are not allowed. Planned four nights there to experience Pagosa Springs. Cancelled the other three nights immediately! Stayed one night in the "new" building. The air conditioner barely worked and made a horrible noise about every hour. Enough to wake the entire building! No elevator? The staff were friendly (Candace? was a pleasure to speak with!) I felt sorry for the staff to be honest. I think they were doing their absolute best given the situation. Corporate needs to visit and send reinforcements! They need help. The opportunity for a convenient, nice place exists if they could get the condition of the building inhabatal! The grossest property I've ever stayed at. The parking lot looked like a junkyard with broken down snowmobiles, atvs and trucks just sitting in the parking lot. There was a huge spot of motor oil and broken glass all over the property. The whole place smelled like mold, old socks and rotting flesh. It felt extremely unsafe and like there was an overwhelming sense of criminal activity. To whoever owns or cares for this property needs to really rethink their priorities. It's almost criminal that you would take someone's money for staying there. If I could give it a 0 star wouldn't be enough. More like negative 10 stars, I want my money back! read more

Gross. The main check in building was exceptionally dirty and falling apart. Went into the building that was being renovated. Dirty stinky and gross. Staying because we are stuck. The toilet rocked when you sat on it, the sink in the bathroom sprayed all over the sink and you if you turned it on too high. My 18 year old son refused to sleep under the sheets. As long as you don't have high expectations, you would be fine with this hotel given the price and location. I chose to stay here opposed to the Resort across the street due to a $300 price difference and the room having a microwave and fridge. There are some obvious problems here. My experience is as follows... 1. Carpet throughout which makes rolling suitcase difficult 2. No elevator 3. DARK hallway 4. Bathroom tub with significant wear & tear 5. There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear... I wish I had taken pictures because what we saw really defies belief, but I see other Yelp users have posted photos that (still) show the poor conditions at this hotel. The original building is is severe disrepair, and the 'new' building next door, where we stayed, is apparently stuck in an endless state of "remodel" (I'd guess at least for the past two years based on the photos posted here). Construction materials lay all around inside and outside the 'new' building, but much of what you'd think was completed looks very dilapidated. Broken door handles, doors not hung properly to the point you can see light all around the openings, mold on bathroom ceilings, wobbly or loose plumbing fixtures in bathrooms, toilets that don't flush properly, dirty windows all around, no working ice machine on property, I could go on and on, and this is only what I observed in the (supposedly) newly-remodeled portion. I did not feel safe here (even though Pagosa seems to be a safe tiny town) because the front door to the rooms in the newer building was wide open all night with no card reader to use to gain entry. Anyone can walk in at any time... Then there is the original building (used to be The Oak Ridge? I think) looks like it needs to be condemned. Inside the lobby door was a pile of... large rocks... I don't even know what that was about. Maybe part of an old fountain? And the on-site restaurant- closed since Covid hit in 2020- serves as the location for the continental breakfast, so the breakfast area is actually an outdated "ski-lodge"- themed run down restaurant. They did provide coffee, oj, waffles, some fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. The worst part for me of the whole experience was the price! They could charge $50-75 for these rooms and it would seem fair for what you get, but they are charging $180 !! Please read all the reviews and look at the most recent pictures. The room had a stench, the beds had stains on the bedding, the bathroom was gross and the towel rack fell off the wall and hit my husbands foot. The woman who checked us in looked like she was wearing a night gown with sweats. And when we were checking out this woman had no response to the towel rack injuring my husband. If I could give a negative rating, I would! My husband is down there on a Fire along with many other firefighters. Many booked rooms for 10 days. July 1, 2023, would have been my husbands 3rd night. After a 16 hour day on the fire, he drove back to the hotel to his room, his room was resold out from under him. His key did not work and a Do Not Disturb sign was on the door. Very friendly staff! But as a business traveler Internet is very important. Pagosa Springs has very limited options when it comes to choosing a hotel. I figured quality inn is a national brand and they should have at least Internet that works. It does not. If Internet is important to you while you stay do not stay here. When making reservations online, you are believing that you will get a decent place to stay and had it not been for needing to stop for the night, I would have read the previous reviews, and would have forfeited the money for the night as there was nothing else available in town. Please read all of the previous reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor for this hotel as nothing has changed on this place. My family and I recently visited Pagosa Springs and stayed here. We had a 10+ hour drive and got a late start due to last minute delays. We had a reservation, but we were running incredibly late and weren't going to get there until 3:30am. Around 2am, I checked our reservation paperwork and it stated of we were going to be late after 9pm and didn't call ahead, our reservation could be canceled. I panicked and called but got no answer. Being from Las Vegas, I honestly forgot not every hotel is 24/7. When we got there, the lobby door was locked and dark. After such a long trip and NOTHING being open, I literally almost cried thinking we'd have to sleep in the car. Then, we thankfully noticed a late check in box and discovered our reservation envelope with our keys. I was so relieved! In the morning, we went to the office and met Orla (sp?). She explained this was a new system they were trying with the late check in box and assured us they'd never have given away our room and she was sincerely so happy to hear we found the keys as they were trying this out. She was incredibly thoughtful and sincerely was happy she saved our trip. We were going to be camping and this was our last opportunity for a bed and shower for a while. ESTHER, old lady with blonde curly hair, is the WORST, front desk agent EVER. Her response after bringing this to her attention was, "You got new sheets and if you were so concerned, you should have stayed home." Complete lack of disregard, lack of empathy, and doesn't have the tiniest bit of customer service sensibility at all. With her representing the hotel as the first and last impression of the hotel, I can't imagine she is helping the bottom line of your financial statements with repeat guests. Even if there wasn't a pandemic out there, having someone else's blood on your sheets is unacceptable! The owners/general manager should take her lack of customer service skills into consideration when people are traveling less and there is a heightened sense of cleanliness and how employees react to addressing these issues. read more

The good: awesome breakfast w fresh eggs, simple omelette, a great self serve area w waffles, fruit, oatmeal, 2 cereals. Omelette chefs were great! Hot springs 200 yards away! The best !! I would add I was pleased that my non smoking room was very clean. Vague hint of pot in hallways. No cig smoke smell. No dog pee smell. The manager was attentive and fixed all issues promptly; a neighbors barking dog was attended to within 15 min. . Live music several nites I was there. Mattresses good to ok. I prefer memory foam but they didn't sag. No plastic like other places I've been. My back is fine afte No bedbugs, I think. The housekeepers were great! The bad: The heating/ac unit showed air ( outside light) on the sides, was not well sealed. Ok well I prefer to sleep cold. Our 3rd nite, it went out! The mgr got her guy there promptly, n he unplugged the unit n gave us a space heater. She offered me to move but it was after 9pm on a Friday, we were leaving the next day. read more

The Name of the hotel is 100 percent misleading. It was anything but quality. Instead it had horror movie feel, I'll go straight to the problem. My daughter got locked in the bathroom. I had to go to the front desk to get help. They called the maintenance guy who shows up wearing a neck brace and he tries to open the door with a credit card. That didn't work. He takes a paper clip out of his pocket and tries that. That didn't work. He leaves and comes back with a drill that DOSENT WORK. Finally he comes back with a hammer and chisel and pops the door open. Total time my claustrophobic daughter was locked in the bathroom. 45 min I spoke with the day clerk who said she would give me 50,/, off and I have received nothing. Needs updating. Looks like it's from the 70s. Hallway carpets are more than dirty, their in need of replacement. Lightning in hallway second floor was minimal. Looks generally run down. No elevator, not a fun thing with my wife. Front desk service was not very helpful. No extra pillows? Understandable if busy but there weren't many cars in the parking lot. The king bed was big but felt like it needed an uplift. And this was the first night. Not sure we're going to stay another. I'm not impressed with Quality chain nor Choice Hotels. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Worst hotel experience I've EVER had and I've stayed in a cop knock hotels when I first began to travel. To get to the interior hallway, I had to traverse an ice pooled concrete slab in a construction setting. Indoor hallway was as cold as outdoors because the door wouldn't close. I had to change rooms because of the cold. Wall heaters bring in 0°F air from outdoors. I put folded pillow cases over the length of the heater bringing in the cold air. Even in the second room, I had to sleep fully clothed with sweatshirt hoodie on my head. Extremely loud, sudden BANG noises rang out, from the walls, all through the night. (Room next to me was empty.) Unable to shower because room was too cold and bathroom heater did not work. So cold, the commode seat was a shock. Paint was pulling away from walls. It was a pricey room. It was clean. The manager was nice. read more

Higher ups at Choice Hotels/franchise owners really need to come by this location before it gives the brand a very bad name. Don't stay at this place. No Quality at this place. Employees not following COVID guidelines and not wearing masks. Staff was very rude. New heater in room did not work and was told by employee that the room was comfortable enough. She ended up moving us to a new room but had to wait about an hour and was a different room then originally booked. It ended up getting down to 20° that night. Hotel is under Renovation so you will see old materials sitting in the parking lot. Looks like a junk yard/trailer park. Children's toys all over the parking lot including bicycles what looked to be Abandon vehicles and trailers that were not hotel guests and other things. These items did not seem to be guests items as they hadn't moved and were there when we arrive to an empt hotel. Construction workers and or maintenance team also not wearing masks. It sits right across from the hot springs but that doesn't make this place a go to. I would stay at any other place in town next time. read more

We were put into a bldg. that is separate from the main bldg. The bldg. was being renovated, so dust and noise everywhere. Also, there was a sign on the outside main door to NOT close that door. So it was open 24/7, including at nite. Plus, the phone in the room was out, so if we'd needed something from the main bldg. after dark, we'd have been walking across a scary parking. Scary not just cuz of possible predators, but also cause there were huge piles of dirt and other trash all over the place. I almost tripped going to my car one day. And this was in full daylight. I never felt safe there. We were not told about any of this when we made the reservation. The phone in the room was out, so we were unable to contact the main desk except by using our cell phones. There was a hole in the wall by the front of the tub. Also in the door itself. We were told there was one hole in the bathroom wall, but there wasn't one there. But plenty of other holes in the bathroom walls! Again, none of this was mentioned when we made the reservations. We found out about all this crap when we were actually at the motel, checking in. And speaking of tubs, the only way I could get off the toilet was to reach over with my right hand, hang onto the tub side, and haul myself up. My right breast and shoulder area had been injured shortly before this trip, and I was in much more pain after our stay. The toilet is TINY-smaller than the ones that came with my mobile home. It is about 6 inches from the wall. I am a fairly large person, and when I sat down, I actually sat against the wall! Very uncomfortable. Also, there was no hot breakfast, just coffee and a basket holding small packets of cinnamon rolls and other junk. We went out for breakfast, adding more expenses to our trip. Over the years, we've stayed at many other Quality Inns. They were always nice. What a dump this one is! I tried this hotel because I was not thrilled with the Best Western and The Springs Inn & Suites did not accept my Hotels.com rewards (they're great). I think this is the worst hotel I've stayed in at Pagosa. My daughter took a shower & was burned by the hot water when another guest flushed the toilet or used the sink water. I experienced the same thing when she was using the sink water while getting ready the next morning. The bathroom fan was so loud I literally could not hear her talking to me with the door open. The bed was saggy & we both woke up with a back ache. No elevator to the 2nd floor. The ice machine was broken. And their idea of breakfast was a "packaged pastry." I would not recommend. read more

If you're staying at a Quality Inn, you're paying for a Quality Inn. Is this place boujee? No. Are you going to get the best sleep of your life? Maybe, depending on how tired you are but it's doubtful. Is the bathroom something from a HGTV episode? Again, no. But it's a hotel and the door locks and you sleep in it, eat the pretty good breakfast they offer, and then you are on your way. This place wasn't the nicest I've been to, a little outdated. Please avoid if possible. They should have paid us to stay at this motel instead of charging us $120. The place is shabby, worn down, and not very clean. The room itself was somewhat passible, but the electric switch in the bath/shower area did not work. Had to use the vent fan and heat lamp. I don't know if they are renovating or what, but old furniture lined the hallway. And the breakfast, wow, not great since it's all processed and bought from Wallmart. Ironically this place is called Quality Inn. I can assure you will find nothing of quality here. Upon arrival you'll second guess your decision to stay here as soon as you enter the lobby. The lack of a lock on the front door is a sneak peak of what you'll get when you get to your room. We were told that we would need to enter through the "back" due to construction that was taking place. The sketchy back entrance was not secure in any way. The doors were propped open allowing anyone and everyone to enter. The crowd smoking at the door made us feel unsettled before we even got in the room. The hotel room door was not fully secure to the point that we could see into the hallway from inside of our room. The tub/shower was falling apart and wasn't in a condition in which we would have felt comfortable using. We spent no more than five minutes in this room before realizing that we needed to GTFO and made a reservation at The Riverwalk Inn instead. There is no chance that we were willing to keep ourselves in what felt like a very unsafe situation. I have never in my life felt the need to leave a hotel due to lack of cleanliness and safety. Do NOT even under the most dire circumstances book a room at this "hotel". read more

This is by far the filthiest, most disgusting hotel we have encountered on a multi-state trip. The lobby is filthy, dirty carpet, broken mini-blings, and discarded paper coffee cups thrown in the window sills. We were shown a succession of 2 dingy, smelly rooms... An odor that was a cross between mildew and the marijuana that permeated the hallway. (I'm terribly allergic to mold and mildew, and my eyes started burning upon entering each guest room.) Went to the room and did my usual bed bug check of the beds before bringing my bags in. Wouldnt you know there was a bed bug craqling along the side of the bed. Went back to the front desk.
