My late husband and I stayed there 3 times in the past 20 years. The owners lived on site and the place had beautiful gardens. I recently went with a friend. Apparently the place has changed hands. No gardens, very expensive for what you get. No paper products provided. 1 roll of toilet paper. Very unfriendly front desk. Cabin was clean, but had the same furniture as 20 years ago. Oh my goodness! I love this place. The cabins are beautifully furnished and well equipped. The scenery is fantastic! My husband and I stayed here three nights on a recent trip to Colorado. I had only booked us for two nights; however, when we realized we needed an extra day, they went over and beyond to accommodate us. The two different cabins we stayed in had comfortable beds, a cozy living area with tv, stove to keep the cabin warm, and futon that pulled out to a bed. The kitchen was well supplied with small refrigerator, two burner stove top, microwave, pots and pans, coffee pot, and dishes. A small grill was available for use on the front porch. Everything was super clean. They even supplied an extra bag with a pad and clean up towels for our dog to use. Although they offer catch and release fishing, we did not fish this time. The only drawback about the River frontage was all the bird poop on the shore from the ducks/geese. It made for difficult walking. However, the personnel were extremely nice and it was only a mile into Pagosa Springs. I look forward to going back! read more

This was our second trip to Pagosa Springs staying at Fireside Cabins. We have a family of 4 with two young adult sons. We stayed in a two-bedroom cabin. The cabin was cozy, but not too small. It was perfect for quality family time. The cabin was well equipped. I can't think of anything that was missing. The cabin was immaculate! We loved the front porch! The cabins were fully booked over 4th of July week. We didn't notice any noise from the road or other residents. We did notice the sound of the river which was so relaxing! We loved relaxing on the chairs by the river and star gazing at night too! We did follow the directions to keep the cabin cool as the temps were in the 80s. This kept the cabin cool during the day and chilly at night. One day, we forgot to close a window which resulted in the cabin being a little on the warm side. The drive downtown was easy. Every morning, we went to different places for coffee and brought it back to enjoy on the porch. I had a massage at the Overlift Hot Springs Spa (recommended by the owner) which was fantastic! read more

HORSE PEOPLE -- bring your ponies and yourselves here! This place has excellent, huge turnouts as well as panel stalls. Trailer access is super easy, and the owners are exceptionally nice people who want you to have a wonderful stay. The Pagosa area has amazing trails within a short haul that take you deep into the Weminuche Wilderness and the San Juan National Forest. Oh, and the human lodgings are also fantastic. ;) The cabins are super clean and very cute. The location right on the river is beautiful and relaxing. This property is amazing and cabins are awesome and front desk staff very friendly but the owners, WOW! I went with my man there for what was to be four nights with his extended family. We had four cabins total and three dogs. My dog (the problem) had just been rescued at 10 years old and lame, had to be carried into and out of cabin because of his bad leg. He's a boxer btw. So we are there less than an hour, get car unloaded and walk about the property a bit while waiting on the family to arrive. Dog with us whole time. We go back to cabin and sit on futon and it's wet. So my man goes to office and tells them. They say owner has to take care of it and she will be back later. No problem. She comes back and down to the cabin and that's when the nightmare starts. Keep in mind I'm a college educated 50 year old professional lady. The first thing this lady says is "it's pee and it was either your dog or one of you." "I vacuumed in here earlier and know it was good." "I don't want this vacation to cost you thousands." And then asks about the dog. At this point I tell her I've had him two weeks and he's a rescue etc. she then tells us that we will have to kennel him or board him while we are there. She loans us a kennel. We spend the night. We wake pack and go to pay the damages for the futon ($250) and she inspects the cabin to make sure that he didn't have anymore accidents and charge us for replacing the carpet. We check out fine. Now since cabin was prepaid we gave keys to family and leave. We go to other cabin and have a wonderful experience (check out that review). Upon our return home we talk with family and find out that "the wicked witch of the north" continued to hassle them about dogs and never replaced futon. Now I'm not angry that the dog was blamed or that we paid for damages. What it is is the way the lady handled herself and how she treated me. I felt like I was in trouble from my mother. Her accusations of one of us urinating on the futon was just utterly ridiculous and uncalled for. Her angry and condescending manor is appalling and I'll be surprised if she lasts long in this line of work. It's my understanding she's a recent new owner. Absolutely the most relaxing time you can have in Riverside cabins! Beautiful area, great amenities such as the hot tub, barbecue pits, play areas for the kids and dogs. VERY quiet at night. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin, complete with mini stove, microwave, coffee maker, TV etc. The entire cabin was spotless, the bathrooms and showers were squeaky clean and comfortable. Unfortunately as with every trip something goes wrong, but the owners rectify the situation in seconds! As tourists,(or spacey seniors, we did something idiotic! We locked our phones, car keys, and cabin key in the cabin at 10 o'clock at night! We were lucky enough to talk to a Texas couple staying there (for their 38th anniversary) who let us call the owner, and obtained a replacement key immediately. Super friendly people, highly recommend to all!! read more

CUTEST and CLEANEST cabins! It was our first time visiting Pagosa Springs and Fireside made our trip so enjoyable. Being pet friendly was much appreciated since our dog goes everywhere with us. Everything was super clean and neatly arranged. Not everyone cares about this, but the details in the decorating of the cabin were so fitting and cute. I didn't think this place would be as awesome as it was. My wife had been there before but this was our first time together and with our Husky Pupp. When we drove up I said "aw these are cute" when we pulled up to our cabin and opened the door I said "oh mah gawd! These are amazingly perfect!" Lol it was such a cute cabin and they literally thought of everything! From dog bag with blankets towels treats etc (don't use human towels/linens for your dog! Use what they provided) to everything in the kitchen to make all your meals. We had the 1 bed room pet friendly cabin so no oven but a 2 burner stove. One burner didn't work but we only cooked breakfast and only needed 1 so we were fine. Our porch light was out the first night and they came to replace within 5 minutes if that. The grounds are kept beautifully and even when someone else let their dog roam free and they pooped by our car, we picked it up so it didn't take away from the beautiful landscape. I felt so calm, peaceful and serene. Did I mention all the SNOW! Lol No issues at all with check in (4p) or check out (11a). It's right down the road from the stores, dispensaries, and shops --all were open but the restaurants were doing take out only. Not a biggie since the pandemic we didn't want to be around other ppl anyways lol The gas fireplace kept it nice and cozy and ppl kept the noise down, it was vacant til Friday when we saw a lot more ppl but when we checked in on Thursday it was only another family there so it was very quiet. My husband and I are on our way back home to Oregon and we stopped here for the night and it was such a cute little cabin! I've never stayed in a cabin before. We mainly just needed a place to sleep and this was a great place. The only downfall I had would be the cell service and Wi-Fi. Didn't have great service and the Wi-Fi kept cutting in and out on my phone. My personal opinion would be if they got like Wi-Fi boosters in each cabin that would be awesome. I have been coming here for over 15 years. As kids my family brought us here every winter to go snowboarding in Wolf Creek. Now as a parent I finally got to bring my kids! They are 3 and 5 and they had such a fun time. They were amazed with the little cabin and there was so much for them to do around the property. We will be back as often as we can. Wow doesn't even describe this place. Totally affordable, you get your own cozy cabin right on the river. This family really makes you feel at home. They even have a book inside the cabin with all types of information including where to find a veterinarian for your pet. The cabin is extremely clean, there's an ice machine, fire pits outside with free firewood, a play area for the kids and lots of lay out chairs right by the water. We would log in and then it would fade away in a few minutes. I know this may sound unimportant, but for travelers the days of paper maps and guides is long gone. We loved them so much the first time - we went again and had some of our family meet us there for the holidays. We each had our own cabins close enough together to go back and forth for breakfast etc. which was really nice! It seemed like all the same staff working and had a chance to talk with one of the owners about the property which was also nice. Here's where they lost some points: On our Reservation Email and Confirmation Email sent directly by the Front Desk - Check In 3:00. When we arrived ( after driving strait through the night 16+ Hours & hanging out in the park for a couple hours to try and kill time ) We went ahead and went over and asked if our Cabin was ready and if we could go ahead and check in if it was ( I REALLY wanted to take a nap ) We were told by Jami? that our room wasn't ready and that Check In is actually 4:00 - she had no idea where we got that time from ( see photo! ) I explained that she had emailed that time to us? Which she said "our policy changed - it's 4:00 now. ( don't you think you should tell people who are booked ) No big deal - went back to the park and took a nap on the ground during winter. Fast forward a couple nights in to our stay... We took advantage of the fire pit and brought down Smore's supplies, bottled water - coffee and a couple of single beers for the adults in koozies. Once we finished, we smoldered the fire a bit and picked up all our Smore's trash - threw it away. We took our empties back to the cabin and put the rest of the recycling (which we brought back to Texas to recycle ) The next morning, my husband went down and picked up a book from the library. He told me that the woman who worked the front desk laid in to him like he was a 5 year old and told him he needed to pick up after himself - that we had left trash all down at the fire pit??? He said he was really sorry and we thought we grabbed everything. My sister in law told me about 45 minutes later that she too had been yelled/scolded at and told her, her pre teen daughters and us had left all our trash at the fire pit and she didn't appreciate having to pick up our trash and wine bottles?!?!? She didn't even bother to tell her we weren't drinking wine and HAD cleaned up. Whats funny is the couple in the cabin next to hers had 4 empty bottles on the front porch table... you think possibly it was theirs?!?! That part was SO offensive that it would prevent us from coming again in the future... which is a shame because we really loved our first stay... Customer service goes a LOOOONNNNGGG way and can make or break a place. Best of luck with your little gem. read more

These little cabins are the cutest and cleanest cabins we have ever stayed in. The couple that owns and runs the cabins are so polite and friendly. They truly work toward you having an excellent stay and want you to come back. The cabins are set along the San Juan River and the views are spectacular. I love that I can open my window at night and hear the river flowing. So amazing!! One of the evenings we had a little cookout and party at the pavilion they have by the water and we all enjoyed ourselves so much. The offer a few games of horse shoes and other fun outdoor games. Pagosa Springs is so beautiful in the winter and the summer. You can ski Wolf Creek in the winter or hike and river raft in the summer. There really is so much to do here and the views will take your breath away. The cute little downtown has so many neat eating places and shops. And I must talk about the hot springs they have here. Overall, a pleasant stay. The cabin was clean and quiet. A few more amenities would have been nice. Paper goods were lacking: no tissues, no paper towels, no napkins. Bottled water was not available, even to buy. No food available either. Also, the gas stove wasn't turned on and the cabin was quite chilly, especially in the morning with the outside temperature in the low-mid 40's. It was uncomfortable! These cabins were perfect for our little snowboard getaway. We rented a two bedroom cabin and it was very clean and accommodating. From the cute little pet bag (with a pet bed, towels and treats for our little guy) and pet friendly atmosphere to the little details in the on site amenities, we found this place to be on the list for a return visit. We were 2 minutes from all the town restaurants and shopping. We were 30 minutes from the Wolf Creek Ski Area. We were next to the river and never heard highway traffic. We will definitely be back, especially since this was a pet friendly location. read more

I stayed at the fireside cabins for one night with my mother and two dogs. I am very diligent with my dogs, they're house broken and taken out for bathroom 6-10 times a day when traveling, AND they are crated when we leave them which was once for 30 minutes. Fast forward to 1 hour after checkout I receive a call from the owner accusing me of STEALING a blanket that quite honestly didn't exist(we were cold the entire night because of the only paper thin blanket on the bed). She then tells us we got blood stains on the comforter which I is because I had stubbed my toe on the dangerous steps by the river, then says my dog peed on the cheep rug by the front door of the cabin. Mind you my dogs have NEVER had an accident in any place we have stayed and we have traveled all over the United States. I honestly felt like I was being scolded by my mother for not cleaning my room... She said she would call back and 8 plus hours later no call. I call her and she tells me that she will be charging a $35 fee for the "damage." I have NEVER felt in my entire life so insulted by someone at a place I have stayed, you'd think I was staying at the Four Seasons, I wouldn't expect this from a trailer park. When asked what the $35 fee was for my mother was told that it was to replace the doormat that my dog ALLEGEDLY urinated on, and for having to wash the blanket 3x and scrub it from blood stains from my foot (mind you we were unaware of any stains). I also cleaned all the dishes and put them away before we left, all towels were put in laundry bag, AND the trash was taken out per the very detailed bright orange laminated instructions given to us by the owner. Beware this place if you plan on doing any sort of living in any of the cabins, especially with a dog. P.S. we were already charged $20 per day PER DOG, which totaled $80 already for our two hypoallergenic poodle mixes under 12 pounds each. read more

This place is seriously as good as it gets, if by good you mean free wi fi, affordable, dog friendly and right on the river. I have stayed in the fire side cabins once in winter and now in summer. These cabins are small but seriously well insulated. In the winter you have these wonderful little wood burning stoves that keep the cabins super toasty. In the summer, even when its warm outside its pretty cool inside. They have some great property, a dog friendly lawn, a place for your horses that does not cost extra. Though each cabin has its own charcoal grill there is a larger area to cook with a bigger grill and fire pit. Now if only it came with a man who could cook? They have laundry services, a hot tub and the inside is equipped with a mini fridge, stove top, microwave and a ton of kitchen utensils. And Chase is in dog heaven. He goes in and out of the river a million times a day and scares all of the fly fisherman. Ooops. Even though it seems a little outside of downtown, its less than a mile. Fireside Inn Cabins is a real gem! My husband and I were looking to decompress after a stressful week in Denver. We liked the idea of staying in a little cabin in Pagosa Springs, but weren't sure what we'd find. Fireside Inn Cabins is located just east of downtown Pagosa Springs. It's on Hwy 160, but we didn't notice any highway noise from the cabin. The cabins are the perfect size for 2 people. They have a cute gas fireplace that adds to the ambiance of the western-themed cabin. Don't let the fireplace make you think that you'll be cold. Trust me, that fireplace will heat up your entire cabin in no time flat! My husband and I are definitely attached to our gadgets (smartphones, tablets, and laptops) and the wifi worked great as long as the file isn't too large. (I tried downloading a TV show from iTunes and it said it could take between 7-10 hours.) Although the cabins appeared to be near capacity, I never saw more than 1-2 people in the hot tub at once. The stream running along side the cabins added to the ambiance. We took advantage of the charcoal grill and ate al fresco. This was a real treat! The next time we're in Pagosa Springs, Fireside Inn Cabins will be the first place we'll look to stay. read more

First, the pictures on their website do not do them justice. the cabins are beautiful, comfortable and fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. the beds are comfortable, I slept on the couch bed and was very comfy. The grounds are perfectly manicured!! Picnic benches and lounge chairs are in abundance to enjoy the river or outdoor common area. The common area has games, toys for the kids, gas BBQ grill, a large covered area, outdoor fire pit...they thought of everything! We appreciated the washer & dryer, ice machine, and hot tub was very clean and very nice! The staff is very gracious, and accommodating. We were surprised by how close town is, a couple minutes, if that. When at the cabins you feel secluded, it's quiet, except the sound of the river. the river is shallow and gentle enough for children to play in the area near the cabins. We had fishermen in our group and the fishing was great! we will be back! read more

We completely fell in love with these cabins. I called the week before to see if they had any vacancy for my fiance and I the weekend after Valentine's Day, which they did. I believe I spoke with Judy (or Jody) and she was just great. She went through all of the charges and explained everything we would need to know. When you turn onto the property, the first building is where you check in. Again, the staff was wonderful upon our arrival. We stayed in cabin 104, which is a one bedroom. Honestly, we actually stayed in the living room both nights. The fireplace was in the living room and we wanted to stay close to that. The kitchen is small and cute, while the bathroom is nicely updated. The entire cabin was supplied with any and every little detail you can think of (wine opener, towels, dish soup, grease pot, ice scraper, etc.) We were impressed by the whole place and will probably continue to stay there any time we make it back to Pagosa Springs. read more
