I stayed here because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. I have zero complaints about this place and was pleasantly surprised. It is an older hotel so don't expect a new one, BUT it is really well kept. My wife is a clean freak and the 1st stop is the bathroom to inspect. The room was remodeled and it was done well, attention to detail could be seen. The room was also very clean over all. The breakfast was simple but the eggs, biscuits and gravy seemed to be actually homemade, can't say one way or another but they seemed to be better than say other chain hotels that serve similar breakfasts. They also had the waffle maker that the chain hotels have. This is a two story hotel with no elevators, just stairs. So overall we will definitely stay here whenever we are in the area. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. read more

They started remodeling on a nearby room before 9am. When I called the front desk about the noise, they said they would have them stop. 45 mins later it started again. They claimed the crew left and wasn't there, but the drill and hammer noise said otherwise. They never stopped the work and it made it impossible to sleep. Not good when working a night shift! I could only manage 3 hours of sleep before they started banging away. They shouldn't book rooms near a room that is getting renovated! They did give me my money back, but I was unable to find another hotel to check in at 10:30am, so I had to try to sleep in my truck, which didn't happen. Absolutely no forethought into their actions and it was a total bust. Definitely not going back. It was a horrible experience. read more

I'm a nitpicker. ....... yep, I said it. If you as a businessman are going to claim something, I will examine in detail and this can be verified by looking at my other reviews. In this case, we are talking about accommodations at the Quality Inn in Ennis. I've never even driven THROUGH Ennis, so had no idea what to expect. In this case, I arrived, checked in, looked around, and then spent 3 nights there. In short, it has earned all the 5 star reviews other Yelpers have given it. I could tell you everything but that would be a lot of typing, so instead I will post my pictures. Bathroom: 4.5 stars Bed: 5 stars Overall room: 4.8 stars Location: 5 stars Maintenance of grounds: 5 stars Breakfast: 5 stars (good offerings, but parts of it can be bland) Cleanliness: 5 stars Front desk staff: 5 stars Noise: 3.5-4 stars are there things to fix? yes, but they are extremely minor. luggage/towel rack, curtains, curtain retainer, and sink need replacing, but I suspect these are ongoing upgrades as everything else was up-to-date. some things, like highway noise, you can't fix. my room faced the highway so I did get some noise. ask for a room on the side facing the pool. on the plus side, a/c was already running and they posted signs saying due to heat and high humidity that they recommended running the a/c even while you weren't in the room so you could come back to a comfortable room! read more

Despite this hotel being inexpensive, I was very satisfied with the service that we received in this hotel. It's amazing that expensive hotels can't even afford to keep their pools running or serve complementary breakfast, yet this hotel did both! The hotel had clean rooms and excellent staff. The morning attendant at breakfast was amazing. He made me a waffle and even helped us return our room keys when he saw that I was using a crutch and couldn't walk far across a wet spill in the hallway. Staff was very pleasant... the room is worn. There is mold behind the toilet and shower has non working sopa pump in it. Beds are comfortable but hard on the back. Cable selection is good. Breakfast... stale cereal, bland eggs offered and this is coming from my husband. When I tried to get the free breakfast I was rejected and told no pets... I said he is a service dog and he said doesn't matter this is a restaurant ... apparently this "restaurant" doesn't know ADA rules. My service animal is allowed everywhere I am. He has a job. Good old American quality! I met the owner Rudy let me tell you what he runs the best quality inn that I have ever been to in Texas. He goes above and beyond to take care of every single client as that was his family. I truly mean that. We talked and had just a great time together. He told me he built a hotel in 1984 I told him I was born in 1983 we just talked and had such a good time over breakfast. Let me tell you what their breakfast is amazing! Everything is homemade and it's made with love. The biscuits and gravy are so good, they have a eggs and bacon sausage cold and hot cereal. I mean this is a full course breakfast guys and gals. Let me tell you about the client relations you get here at quality Inn, I stopped in during hot July or August can't remember and the owner of quality inn makes sure that all the empty rooms have the Ac on, so when the clients get in the room they are greeted by a perfectly cool chill room. They really saved the night for us. Great pricing. My go to spot when heading back to Houston from dallas. read more

I knew we were camping in for the night at Ennis as we are traveling along I-45. I looked up Hotels.com and this is the first hotel that popped up. It was the cheapest too so I decided to book the last 2-queen non-smoking bedroom. It also had stellar reviews on TripAdvisor so I thought it must be good. I usually forget to check on Yelp reviews and more often, reviews on here doesn't add up to that of TripAdvisor or other hotel sites. After I booked on hotels.com, I realized I better check on yelp. I was relieved to see the same overall 4.5 star rating as the over 1300 reviews on TripAdvisor. We got here 10:30 pm and kids are so fussy and tired. It didn't take long for hubby to grab the room cards and we parked right in front of our room (1st floor). That was very convenient as it was easy to dump the kids on the beds from the car. I wasn't quite sure if this place measures up to the great reviews as it looked kinda old (compared to the Hilton's that we normally frequent to), but as soon as I walked in the door, it's an "oh yeah" moment. I'm a germphobe and I KNOW the smell of clean, freshly washed linens (not overly scented sheets to cover up some smell type linens - guys, this is the real deal)! I had white socks on and usually when I walk around hotel carpets with it, I would end up with blackened socks I end up throwing them away. Mine stayed white except for some random dirt. That's my standard of clean. Plus NOT a hint of smoke at all. I'm always hesitant to check in on the "choice hotels" chains as we've had bad experiences with non-smoking rooms smelling like disgusting musty smoke. The breakfast was decent too. We overheard the guy helping out with the breakfast - he's the owner's grandkid. He talked a little about the history of the place. At around 9 am, his grandpa (the owner) walked in. After hearing some stories about him, I had so much respect for this place. It's not just the great quality of the place that stands out but also the history that came with it. Overall, they deserve to be at the top of the ratings. Well job done and keep it up!! read more

When I checked out the reviews various places for this hotel, I thought they had to be wrong. I'd never seen a Quality Inn with such high ratings. But, I was stuck in a rainstorm and just wanted to get off the road. So I thought I'd see what the heck was up with that 4.5 to 5 star average review... Turns out, it's definitely not a mistake! This place is fantastic! It's the nicest Quality Inn I've ever stayed at (and I've stayed at dozens). Feels homey and relaxing. Quiet, too. Usually I avoid hotels with carpet... because... well, we've all seen hotel carpets. But I actually felt safe walking around barefoot in the room. Booked what the website called an "executive king" and it's a suite with a bedroom that's got it's own door, a nice living room area with couch and recliner and a kitchen area. The windows open up to a beautiful view of a grassy area with trees - and squirrels and birds. It's lovely. There's a pool, hot tub, vending machines... and all the standard Quality Inn stuff like coffee maker in the room, etc. Front desk staff was wonderful. Friendly, helpful and genuinely cared about my stay here. I actually stayed a whole extra day/night because I liked the place. No idea what little town I'm in but people are polite here, the area is calm and feels safe, and there are lots of choices for restaurants (delivery or nearby). I also saw a Walmart super close. There's a sweet resident black cat in the office, friendly little guy made me feel welcome and right at home. Definitely 5-stars. read more

We decided last minute to stop for the night in Ennis after an exhausting day. I used Priceline and got a terrific deal here. We were so pleasantly surprised! The lady at check in was super sweet. The rooms are immaculate! There's a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. There was even a koozie, candy and microwave popcorn waiting in the room!! I highly recommend this place!! read more

We got a lovely suite with a living room and full kitchen. Think most of our good fortune was because we checked in about 6pm instead of our usual 9, 10 or 11pm checking time. The last time we were here we got a small room with barely enough room for a queen bed. It also didn't have enough outlets to plug in all our electronics to charge overnight. This Inn was fantastic! Me and my mother stayed in the Inn for a couple nights. The staff are super helpful and friendly, and quickly took care of anything we asked! the FREE breakfast they serve was great, the pool was just the right temp, and the rates are cheap! As an added bonus, there is a very nice black cat that roams around, and he even came in our room to say hi! The title says it all! 5/5 read more

FYI - I booked at the Quality Inn in Ennis for the April dates. It was guaranteed with a card, not pre-paid. When things got crazy, they charged my card 2 weeks prior and changed their refund policy. I got back $30 of $267. I do not recommend booking with them in the future. read more

I honestly had the best experience at a hotel at the Ennis - Quality Inn. We experienced this even before we made our reservation. We were having a some trouble doing it online and decided to call. Ms. Mary was so nice and accommodating even at the late hour we got in. The next morning we were greeted by an outstanding hot breakfast that completely exceeded our expectations. Mr. Rudy, the owner, offered us the most delicious waffles I have had and made one for just me! Amazing fresh eggs, sausage, warm biscuits and homemade gravy. You can tell this family owned business is taking care of their customers, is honest, and a unique jewel of its kind. If you get the chance, talk to the front desk and have them show you their platinum award for customer service. Stayed one night on my way elsewhere. They got everything right for what I needed and I thought it was a good value. They have a swimming pool and it's nicely situated away from the street side and rooms facing it may be a little quieter with less highway noise. At least at this time of year. I was on the parking lot side and still slept soundly, though. The staff is friendly but rest assured that this is a standard run down motel with smelly rooms. We stayed here because of the great reviews and I assumed it must have been a newer build. The first room we got smelled like poo with some Lysol sprayed to cover up the odor. The second room was smoky smelling (supposed to be non-smoking) but we chose to deal with it. The carpet was sticky and gross , the faucet was leaking, and it was generally outdated and dingy. The front desk staff is friendly but that's all this place has going for it. read more

Evertome I come to Ennis for a race I end up spending the night at this facility. This family has been running this hotel for 33 years and the service is amazing. I travel all over the country announcing drag races and stay in a lot of hotels and this by far has the best continental breakfast in the country. Family pride and excellenceI This is hands down the best Quality Inn I have ever been to (and I travel all over the USA)! This hotel was built in the 80's, and the decor reflects that, but the rooms are super clean and very comfortable. Good Wifi and a relaxing leather chair. The breakfast has a large variety of items and the folks that work here are the best! It's a good place to stay. Has a small breakfast in the morning which was decent. They definitely need more towels in the room. 2 towels and 2 hand towels, isn't enough when you have 2 people staying in the room. Maybe add an extra roll of toilet paper too? One roll isn't enough, especially when it isn't a new roll. The bathroom has a leak in the wall, but I assume it's from the air unit. Also when the weather is 30° and it's cold outside, you ideally would like access to your room. Turns out the front desk girl only activated our room key for 24 hours. Even though we are here until the 2nd of January. I was left outside with our dinner getting cold, while my fiance went to the office to get the key activated again. Not only was our food getting cold while I waited but at the same time I was already sick and to wait in the cold while being sick, sucks. By the way we also don't like being woken up at 6am by a howling cat. read more

Don't let this place fool you. Great place to stay! Stayed one night. Great price. Clean rooms, clean comfortable bed. Bathroom a little small but is obviously kept cleaned. Seemed pretty quiet but I don't think anyone was staying above us. Found this gem via Yelp late on a Tuesday night. I had called a few other hotels in the area but from the moment Cody answered the phone it was apparent that this place totally understood what customer service was. We choose to give it a try because Cody made us feel like our business mattered. Once we arrived it was exactly like what we received on that phone call. Nice friendly check in, absolutely spotless room, bathroom was sparkling, room smelled clean (not sterile like they were masking odors with deodorizers) and the sheet AND blankets smelled like they just came out of the wash. Excellent cable service with tons of channels (last hotel we stayed at had all of 10 channels - news and sports). In the morning the breakfast was exactly as Cody described. Laura greeted my husband and made him feel right at home! She even cooks your waffles for you. The eggs actually looked and smelled like real scrambled eggs and the sausage looked fresh. I came down later and got the same royal treatment with some friendly banter with Laura. Most importantly the coffee was AHmazing! We found out that this is a locally run - 3 generation operation. They take pride in the facilities and the services they offer. After I drank my coffee and was awake, walking back to my room I look around and realize the grounds are as clean and well maintained as the rooms. Beautiful outside area to sit and enjoy your breakfast. The pool was not right on top of the outsides seating either. The pool and its sitting area was immaculate and they have a hot tub. Now you asking yourself what did she pay??? Much to our surprise total bill for one night for 2 adults UNDER $80.00 with my AAA discount.
