The issue wasn't the room, it was the attitude. The way I was spoken to was so dismissive that you would think I was asking for something outrageous, not trying to pay for a room. I was looking for information, not an argument, but apparently basic customer service was too much to expect. It's interesting that a business in the hospitality industry can make a potential paying customer feel like an inconvenience before they've even walked through the door. No worries, I'll gladly take my money somewhere else. I wouldn't want to bother a business that seems to have no interest in welcoming customers. Hopefully the next person calling gets treated with a little more respect.

I stayed in a suite last night and the carpet was ripped in multiple places. The ac seemed to work fine and the bed was still comfortable so not bad overall. They seemed very apologetic about it and made it right. The breakfast was superb as the breakfast attendant America was so kind and greeted us. The breakfast was warm and fresh as it was constantly restocked. I was impressed because I usually eat breakfast a bit late and the breakfast items are usually out by the time I go eat but this time to my pleasant surprise it was all stocked in this hotel. The pool was green with algae and unsafe for swimming! I notified the desk and they told me it would be cleaned by the next day. The next morning it was still green but lighter. By that evening I asked if the pool was safe for swimming and was told yes. We went out to the pool and there were three people at a table that had been drinking. They had a dog running loose all over the fenced pool area and it charged the gate and started barking viciously. It had no leash evidently. One of them picked up the dog and held it. We went in the gate and went to the other end of the pool. They were loud and using cuss words, and they also put the dog back down! Needless to say, we were unable to stay at the pool. 3. At breakfast the morning we were leaving, I wanted to have a cup of strong coffee to help me with the 6 to 7 hr. drive home. The coffee dispenser was empty. There was an employee emptying the trash and I asked if there might be coffee soon. She responded that she was busy ... "having to clean up all of this mess" and that she would get coffee when she was done. I asked her three times during 10 minute intervals for 30 minutes if there was going to be any coffee. She replied that she was the only one there, she had to clean up all this mess, waving her hands around like the whole dining room as she was sitting in a chair doing nothing. I said that I really would have appreciated coffee with breakfast but she never made an attempt to go make any. I asked the front desk about it and she said it takes a while for the coffee to prove and I told her it had been 30+ minutes. Also, my bill was one amount, and I was charged nearly $60.00 more. When I called to inquire what the EXTRA UNKNOWN charge was for, I was told it was for "incidentals" which I had never heard of before. Nor was it discussed when I made the booking or when I checked in. It looks like I'm going to have to dispute the charge through my credit card in order to get my incidental charge back. I will not pay it! I DO NOT APPRECIATE BAIT AND SWITCH. There's no customer service at this location. I will never stay here or any other Marriott again. They evidently have a new policy... No guests or customer service... I have been online all day trying to clear this up and the website will completely wipe out everything I've typed and I have to start over. Seriously frustrated and unhappy.

Breakfast was okay, nothing special but gets the job done. Basic options like most hotels have. Only complaints are that when we got there they had given our room away (2 queens) so we settled for a king and pullout but they did give us a discount for accommodation. I did overhear this happening to another guest to so just be aware of that. When cleaning came to our room while we were gone they took our trash but didn't vacuum the crumbs on the floor and just left them, although they did a good job when we asked them ourselves to come clean. Overall a good experience and would recommend.

But full spread includes a couple of omelette options, oatmeal and cereal and fruit with juice options. I recommend staying on the fourth floor away from elevator if sensitive to noise. I had originally wanted to stay at Hampton Inn but I booked the one in Bay City, MICHIGAN and when I realized it and tried to book Bat City, TX they were sold out. Plus I heard Hampton Inn wasn't that great, they had roaches, their breakfast was trash and they have A/C issues. Housekeeping is by request only. They are quick and efficient. Customer service was friendly for the most part. BIG shout out to Marla and Beatrice. They made my extended stay enjoyable. One hotel receptionist I don't know her name kind of made my complaint about the hotel guest in the room above mine feel invalid. If someone is walking heavy to the point it awakens you from your sleep, then I feel like that is valid enough to call the front desk and have them call that room to ask them to be mindful of their walking and walk softer. She gave me push back asking well if they aren't jumping and just walking I can't do anything about that. I stayed for six weeks. I've only complained about a hotel guest or guests three times that stayed above me. So don't give me that if they're just walking I can't do anything about that. It takes a lot for me to be awakened: I keep a cold room, keep the curtains closed, have a fan on and a sound machine. For those who like to be cold this hotel is for you. I kept my room between 58-60 degrees. Very pleasant especially for that Texas heat. So that was appreciated. Two washers and two dryers on third floor only. Be careful because my quarter got stuck in the dryer. They refunded my money but still annoying. They do offer a wash and fold service which is extremely convenient. You drop off your clothes by 9AM and it will be back by 3PM. They charge your room and a one time bag fee which I think is like $3 and you get to keep the bag. I did see roaches. Four total. One the FIRST day I moved in which was alarming because the room should be thoroughly cleaned so I guess the housekeepers missed it when vacuuming. It was by the window next to the A/C unit. I asked the front desk receptionist who came and got it and apologized. She also said they recently fumigated. The second one was dead in the entry way. The third one was alive in the bathroom. It was a small and paper thin one. Fourth one was dead in the bathroom. I'm someone who likes to sleep in the dark but after seeing from the first day there were roaches I kept the TV on around the clock on mute. TV is OK. LG i think 39 inches if that. To turn it on is a pain (power then options then HDMI then something else before you get to live TV). Not many options. I don't think they had a premium channel like HBO. No BET or VH1 or MTV either if I remember correctly. I also saw two dead ones in the lobby area when you first enter the hotel. For Halloween they set out some candy and had some decorations set up. They have a small market with ice cream, water, I think sodas and some medicines and chips. Ice machine is on first floor. Sometimes I had to ask for different sheets, towels or pillowcases because they had stains on them that didn't wash out. The couch and office chair didn't seem trustworthy enough to sit on. Shower pressure varied too. Some days the hot water would last awhile and the pressure would sustain. Other days pressure would be a gentle cascade and the hot water would be fleeting even if you turned the knob all the way to the left. The shower door at least in my room was hard to slide from both sides. Not sure if it needed WD40 or something but I felt it was going to break with me having to apply force to slide it back and get in.

It was clean and had everything we needed. EXCEPT.... the shower know was broken. The front desk clerk worked on it and got the hot hot water on... but couldn't turn it off! Maintenance arrived and was able to turn it off but they needed a new know on Mother's day Sunday! We were I offered a room across the hall but it wasn't ADA. The only other ADA room was a king room and there are 3 of us. The manager, desk clerk and Maintenance guy worked to get the shower repaired and keep us in our room. My only complaint.... everything feels wet. The floors, the sofa, bed linens... damp. We'll stay here again!

First walking in the door clearly states face masks must be worn. So we put ours on and go check in. The woman behind the counter wasn't wearing one. I guess staff isn't required to? So why not take the sign off the door that says it's required? Next she tells us rooms won't be cleaned every day because of covid. Ok. I don't get that unless they are so busy cleaning and disinfecting everywhere else. The lobby looks nice so I'm thinking to myself phew! Not a roach motel like I read about a lot of the other brands that I normally stay at in the area. We were there helping my son move, so we literally dropped our bags in room and left to take care of getting him settled in to his new place. We come back later exhausted. I ALWAYS check bedding for bugs before I lay down. When I pull the sheets back I find a lot of random hairs. Obviously not mine! I try to give benefit of the doubt. Maybe static coming from laundry but surely the sheets must be washed!? I brush them off. Later we find pieces of bacon on the floor. Turning on the light realize the couch is stained. I open the closet and there are pieces of a cookie dough chocolate bar!!! There was random toilet paper under the vanity in bathroom. We were too tired to find someone to clean the room, especially since they said you had to request it with a paper you have to fill out and give to front desk in advance. When we woke up we were leaving for the day and saw the cleaning lady. I asked if I could give her the paper or if I had to give it to front desk. I asked for full service. She looked at me like I was crazy knowing we just checked in. I said we need new linens and vacuum for sure. No need for towels. But it didn't even look like surfaces had been wiped down! She said I'll try to squeeze it in. Squeeze it in???? I made sure to Mark the sheets so I would know if they changed them or not. They partially did. The top sheet not the bottom of one. At this point we were checking out the next day and again just too tired for the hell I wanted to raise. The beds were also spring and not comfy. They look comfy but our backs were all messed up after. The breakfast was literally what the kids get for breakfast in school. All Pre packaged stuff like Pillsbury pancakes and frudels, cereal, oatmeal etc. Better than nothing I guess but no real healthy options. But for covid environment happy for prepackaged. Stayed at the Fairfield Inn for the last 2 days in town and had the best stay! Cleaning protocols way better! Room was immaculate! I will never stay at this Comfort ever again! I don't know that I'll ever stay with the brand ever again. So disappointed.

Once arriving at my room(in a rush) noticed I had no pillows. So when I returned to the room at 11:30 PM after volunteering all day I asked the young man at the desk for pillows, he said: "yeah hold up". So after "holding up" for 10 minutes he returns from the back with no pillows and ask if ill be up a while because he "gotta wash some new ones". So I then have the comforting thought of freshly USED pillows. -He comes to my room AND PEAKS HIS HEAD IN, because he doesn't believe I have no pillows...WOW! AND HE SHOWED UP WITH TWO PILLOWS for two queen size beds. ridiculous. 3. The hygiene, cleanliness was disgusting. Cigarette holes in the mattress, ash in the night-stand, long hairs all over the sheets, AND INTERCOURSE STAINS ***** D I S G U S T I N G *****!!!!!!!!!!! The room was previously a smoking room, so everything reeked of cigarette odor, with the stains, holes, and ash to accompany it. I was so disappointed, grossed out, and frankly pissed off I left in the middle of the night during my $247 stay. I entirely without a doubt demand a refund at the LEAST. 4. OH YEAH, there was the construction of the hotel room- so they conveniently placed all the old toilets, and shower tubs behind my hotel room in a small grassy area, next to a grease trap! Showered twice and washed all my clothes again upon returning to civilization.

He struck me as a manager type--serious in the best way--and I always felt like things were under control when he was around. Laura was simply sweet and kind every time I interacted with her. No attitude, no rush--just genuinely pleasant and helpful. Sometimes that alone makes a hotel feel welcoming, and she nailed that. And then there's Christina. Her smile could honestly turn around a rough travel day. Every interaction with her felt upbeat and positive, like you were being helped by someone who actually enjoys what they do. Seeing her at the desk was a little daily boost--sounds small, but it matters. Hotels are buildings. People make the experience. These three absolutely did. Because of them, I'd stay here again without hesitation.
