My wife was having a procedure at Davie Medical Center and she was first on the schedule for 9/14 so our choice was get up at 3:00 am that morning and drive up here or stay overnight so we made a last minute decision to drive up and stay overnight. We normally we stay at the Hampton Inn but that was costly just for 8 hours of sleep so my wife found this hotel for $62 including tax and it was only four miles from the hospital. When we checked it took a few minutes for the night clerk to appear and she was not wearing a mask even though a sign on door the stated a mask was required in all public areas. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Standard microwave, mini fridge, desk and chair and an arm chair and an ironing board and iron. Hair dryer in the bath room and plenty of hot water for showers. It was fairly noisy both in the hall and out side till about 10:00 pm. Hotel is behind I-40 and our room faced the highway so there was a lot of road noise. Covid-19 had the breakfast bar closed and there are no other amenities such as a pool, work out or business center, which we didn't need anyway. Overall it got the job done since we didn't check in until almost 8:00 pm and were leaving at 5:00 am the next morning, but the only way this hotel would be my first choice if we had to stay in this area in the future would be if money was tight and we just needed a place to crash for the night and no amenities. read more

Room was fine but twice as much as online reservation. Room was 74 degrees. No comfortable chairs so we sat in lobby to wait for cooling. Breakfast was a joke. A tiny crockpot with scrambled powdered eggs. No meats. Bagels, muffin, waffles and very green bananas. Nothing I could eat. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night recently. The parking light is spacious and well lit at night. We arrived later in the evening but check in was quick and easy. The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant as well. The inside of the hotel seemed nice and our room was on the ground level not far from the entrance. We were given two key cards for our room and had no issues with them. Upon entering the room we were a little confused as there is no overhead lights. Just lamps and a small light over the sink. The sink was located immediately to your right when we entered the room. I found that to be a lot better than it being crammed into the smaller sized rest rooms, as some hotels do. It was noticeably damp and humid in the room too. We turned on the AC immediately to try to cool the room off. I noticed a couple small black ants on the AC unit and some along the wall by a chair. Thankfully we didn't see anymore after that. There were some stains on the bedspread and the sheets. They didn't seem to be unlaundered though, they had possibly seen better days. The bed was really comfortable though. The flat screen tv was nice and the mini fridge seemed to be working well. The humidity and the dampness in the room was horrible though. It was incredibly difficult to sleep that night. The lady at the front desk who did our check out was very friendly and got us out quickly the next afternoon. For the price this hotel is much better than others that offer less or might not be in as good condition. Maybe in the fall and winter they don't have so many issues with the humidity, but late spring/early summer it is awful. Other than that the staff is friendly and the location seems safe. read more

Clean rooms, nice beds but an older hotel that still needs some attention. Door to our room scraped the floor do it wouldn't open all the way, and the toilet was loose on the floor - a rocking chair toilet! No breakfast, I'm assuming because of Covid. Horrible coffee. read more

UNETHICAL, LYING OWNER. Unfortunately, I must write this very bad review. Upon checking into this Quality Inn, we entered our room. The entire room smelled overwhelmingly of marijuana and then air freshener on top. I have never checked out of a hotel because of a smell before, but 5 minutes after entering our room, we headed right back downstairs because it was absolutely unbearable. The owner refused to refund us. I tried very hard. I pointed out that our room was listed as a non-smoking room and so is the entire property; thus, his hotel wasn't keeping up with his end of the bargain. On top of the overwhelming weed, the screen to the outdoors was shredded, and there was gross stuff on door handles and walls. What frustrates me so much is that we feel as though we were robbed. Again, I've never left a hotel I checked into nor written a bad review about a hotel on Yelp. That's how bad it was. read more

Staying here as we travel to our final destination. The room is dirty the down comforters on both beds are yellow (!!) with stains and dirt. The bathtub has visible grime and soap scum. There was a used McDonalds cup left in the 'closet'. Visable hand prints on both the mini fridge & microwave. Side entry door is broken and does not lock (security nightmare!) Can hear our neighbors TV loud and clear, luckily my family are heavy sleepers and it doesn't bother anyone (except myself) Front door on entry requests that guests wear a mask in public areas (which I did) but no masks on the front desk workers. This is the grossest hotel I've ever stayed in and I cant wait to leave in the morning. read more

Run away from this place. They said it was being remodeled but this was far beyond that. The hallways are horrible. Elevator was scary. There were tears in the curtains, the sink didn't drain, the stopper handle pulls completely out of the sink, the tv didn't work, phone didn't work, shower barely worked, mold on ceiling, a curtain was used for a bed decoration and the light flickered. Starting the heater in the room smelled terrible. Please don't believe the positive reviews. I truly believe they are fake. I would give this half a star if I could. Good room for the price. I will say that it was very clean and had amenities that I didn't expect for the price such as a mini-fridge and microwave in room; Coffee and tea 24/7 in the lobby. There was continental breakfast from 6:30-9:30 but I did not get to take advantage of that as we were staying here to be close to Davie Medical Center for a procedure where we had to be at the hospital at 6am. I'm sure it was good though. I saw them placing scrambled eggs in the warmer as I was checking out. The night clerk was very helpful as out remote to the TV didn't work. She searched other, empty rooms for a remote that would work and she delivered. Check in and out was quick and easy. It's a little off the beaten path but it's a good room for the price. My company has sent me to stay at this location many times over the last few months. So this review is not based on just a single, biased experience. With that said let's begin... The facilities and housekeeping are on point period! from floor to ceiling of this place are immaculately kept. It is evident they take pride in their work and take their jobs seriously! Every room I had was spot shiny clean with not a single dirty piece of linen or terry. I did have one room that had a lingering odor of cigarettes but that's not their fault some guests can't follow the rules. The morning breakfast is something left to be desired but for a discount hotel and continental breakfast style, it works. They do offer 24-hour hot and cold beverages which is nice because it's unexpected. The front desk staff (specifically Don & Lydia) are exceptional! They treat you like you're the most important person in the world! Experts in knowing how to do the job right, you can trust they have your best interests at heart! They have the best attitudes and no request is unmet. They are eager to engage making you feel right at home! Always having a smile on their face while greeting you when you're walking in the door and wishing you well as you're walking out! In all my travels I have never seen better! They are a credit to the Hospitality industry and true professionals! Thank you both for all you do! Unfortunately, That can't be said for everyone there, which explains my four stars. It's too bad there has to be that one bad apple in the bunch. Normally I would have refrained from, avoiding negativity, but something must be said about their general manager Christopher. I've learned to avoid him as everyone seems like an inconvenience to him and his time. A deeply unpleasant person! I have also overheard him speaking (AT NOT WITH) his Staff on a number of occasions and the words that come to mind are despicable, dispirited, disrespectful & condescending. This hotel has gone downhill. It used to be very nice and clean. This time, we were shown three rooms, all of which were dirty. Shower had hair and used bar of soap. Toilet had bodily fluids on it and floor was dirty. Sheets on the bed were stained and had multitudes of hair. The hallways smelled bad. Drunk guy in the lobby offered a place to stay. DO NOT STAY HERE! RUN!!!! TERRIBLE STAFF! TERRIBLE CHEMICALS USED IN CLEANING THAT BURN YOUR EYES AND INSIDE OF NOSE. Management and owner not willing to work with you on a solution. Told when we booked that we booked a suite of two rooms. They don't know what a suite is...turned out to be a room with a fold out CHAIR! Not in a good part of town. Did not feel safe at all. No automatic doors, so you have to struggle to get your luggage in. Once you finally get in, nobody at the front desk. Searched for info on how to check in, found a phone to dial 0. Staff on other end of phone took their time getting to front desk. Didn't know what she was doing, not very nice. Elevator is only big enough for 1 person at a time with a suitcase. Got to room and found it and the smells unacceptable. Waited in line and asked to check out immediately. Nobody knew what to do. I said I'd call the management company in the morning to work it out. The staff didn't even know what management company it was! Called several times over 3 days, never got a response. Called hotel directly 8 times on a Wednesday morning, no answer. Contacted corporate office. Corporate contacted owner. Owner refused to refund even though we never stayed there or even TOUCHED anything in the room. Corporate office said they only charged me for one night, however, my credit card was charged DOUBLE the amount of my reservation for 3 nights! Almost $500! Asked to speak directly to owner. Corporate transferred my call. Hotel told me he wasn't there. I told them I knew he was and she said, yes, he's here. Wouldn't let me speak to him. My father was dying and we wanted a hotel close by so we found this Quality Inn. Thought there must be something wrong because the prices were so reasonable. It was a high end hotel with hot breakfast and very pleasant staff. And surrounded by all types of places to eat or shop. We will be booking there on our next trip as well. read more

Stay anywhere other then this hotel. This was the rudest that I have ever been treated by a business. The front desk lady was only concerned about being heard and could care less and listening to the customer speak. If she had of listened to the customer speak our problem would of had a easy solution. But then we would of ended up in a nasty out dated hotel so maybe she did us a favor but really hurt her business. Unfortunately the good (clean room except for bathroom construction debris, good enough bed, nice pillows, decent heat/ac with no annoying rattles and moderately quiet fan) doesn't outweigh the not good. Bathroom floor had construction debris on it (looked like drilling into tile had gone on and worker didn't clean up their mess), saw a bug in the room (roach or beetle). If there were an opportunity to give this place 0 stars I would. I made a reservation with this hotel online with assistance from the desk person. I needed to cancel because of a change of venue for my event and started calling this place one week prior to my check in. I called the hotel repeatedly as well as choice hotel directly. I filed a cancellation notice online. I wrote emails to the hotel directly. They would not cancel. My original reservation was made 2 weeks prior to the check in date. I attempted to cancel a week prior to check in but they would not allow it. Be very careful if you make reservations with this hotel. Not only are their staff incredibly rude, they insist that you must have a cancellation 30 days prior. It's crazy. . Choice hotel would not return my money because they said Individual hotels can make their own rules. I had several reservations for this trip with choice hotels that allowed me to cancel without a problem. Only this place held my money. Do not use this hotel. Stay in Lexington st the vineyards hotel witch is far more customer friendly with very good service. This place is s total sham. Did I mention. Rude??? For one week they would answer the phone and hang it up promptly. When the people at the Choice hotel complaint line called for me the same thing would happen. My only way to get through was by email. How do people do business and stay in business when they give such horrible service. DO NOT BOOK at this hotel. They will lie about your cancellation even if you have proof otherwise. If they have so little integrity in how they treat you before you get there just imagine if you stayed there. read more

Somehow on Friday night, a sink on the second floor was busted and flooded the room and the one below it (or so I heard from fellow guests...the hotel staff does not get paid to communicate with guests). This caused a water main shut off. When my daughter and I returned to our room after Game 1 of her soccer tournament, she cleaned up with cold water. I didn't even know there was an issue until she told me later. So after game 2, at which she got rained on and mud splattered, and by this point was stinky and sweaty, we get back to our room and there really isn't any hot water. The clerk was like "You have to let it run for a while to get the hot water back in the pipes". So I timed it. I let the water run for 30 minutes..no hot water and no concern from said clerk. He finally relented and said he would call the manager. No one ever got back to me. No employee ever reached out to explain, inform or apologize. It's now morning, and there is still NO MANAGER ON DUTY despite knowing that there is a broken water boiler. On a weekend. With a mostly full hotel which includes at least one wedding party. But no manager...because that is just how much they care about their guest's comfort and experience. So no morning run in the Fitness Closet despite the fact that I'm in training for a half marathon next weekend, because I have a two hour drive home. And no free breakfast. I mean, I COULD get breakfast because their sanitation standards do not include having a kitchen with hot water...but I think we'll pass, thank you. One desk clerk told me repeatedly that the manager will call me when she comes in "sometime this afternoon" (once all the inconvenienced guests have checked out...how very professional). Then the other clerk noticed that they don't have my number on file (she was the only competent and concerned employee I dealt with). She put it in there...but he was making promises that couldn't even be met!! As my hotel manager friend on Facebook put it: you get what you pay for. So I have this thing about driving in the middle of the night and after working an 8 hour wedding and reception the last thing I wanted to do was drive in the middle of the night for a few hours. So I got a cheap hotel room. The Quality Inn wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed at but its a close second for the following reasons: 1) the first room I was in the window was open and didn't close and couldn't close because there was no locking latch on it. The front desk lady had the nerve to ask me if I still wanted to get a different room. Apparently my safety wasn't much of a concern. 2) There was this huge red stain on my floor where I am now CONVINCED somebody was murdered there. Only thing it was missing was a chalk line drawn around it. 3) The bathroom had hair everywhere! in the toilet , tub, even on the walls. How you get hair on the walls? So now I'm left wondering was it worth not risking my life and driving half asleep through the night but instead risking my health and safety by staying at the Quality Inn. When I came home today the first thing I did was soak in a bath filled with equal parts water and bleach I usually use to disinfect my kids toys. Not sure if it will get rid of any potential diseases I may now have after staying there, but I figured I'd at least give it a shot. read more

This Quality Inn is the best I have ever stayed at. I was in town for the High Point Furniture Market and we weren't going to stay in the Winston Area due to all the hotels jacking their prices up when we come to town! For $70 per night; we had a free hot breakfast that was really fresh and filled up every 10 minutes or so. The scrambled eggs and gravy was great. They even The manager was on site and greeted us every morning. She even refilled our coffee and offered to take our trash away. We told her she didn't have to wait on us but she said she enjoyed "spoiling" us and it really shows. THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN!!!Each room has been updated and the hotel is close to several good eating joints as well. read more
