My husband went the weekend of Father's Day 2021 to meet his old Navy buddies. He was booked for four days. Upon entering the lobby he was overcome with stale cigarette smell. The room he got faced the parking lot and he felt like his room was going to get broken in to. There were stains on the wall. The bathroom felt dirty and gross. After staying one night, he moved to another hotel. Quality Inn refunded him one night but charged him for the other two. He does not recommend this place.

Low quality, bad choice. Not a good experience. Didn't get breakfast due to there not being any plates or silverware. Loud car noise all night. The photos tell you the rest. This used to be a motel 6.

Don't stay here if you have asthma! There is mold and drywall dust everywhere!!! I didn't care so much that everything is dated/ broken or that they were renovating- I just wanted a clean bed for one night. The people with me, who don't have asthma were coughing and couldn't breathe. We had to leave, with no refund- it was not possible to stay here more than two hours.

    Broken door frame

I wish there was an option for no stars. This place is absolutely foul! My husband and I booked a 3 night stay. And were told to leave less than 24 hours after we had checked in. Why? You may ask? I'll tell you. This is going to be the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard! We get to the room and can not open the door. My husband had to lift it really hard and put his shoulder into it just to get it open shutting it was the same deal and you really had to slam it to get it to shut. It was completely bent off the hinges. As you see in the pics the other side of the frame is broken too. The lock was bent and you had to lift the door and slide the lock over at the same time to get it to shut and lock together. Super annoying but whatever it shuts and locks. Now we move to the bathroom. It was DISGUSTING! Hair and dirt all over the floor ashes even though it's suppose to be nonsmoking. After driving 8 hours we were exhausted and just decided to go to sleep. Fast forward to the next morning which was Saturday 9/1. I go to the front desk explain the situation with the door and the room being dirty and asked if we could have a different room? I was told that they would send housekeeping up and someone to fix the door. This should of never even been a thing , but maintenance shows up and takes 30 minutes to attempt to fix the door while we are just sitting in the room because we aren't going to leave our things while they are working on the door with it wide open. So they finally agree after being asked many more times if we can just have a different room. The guy from the front desk comes up and says we have another room get your stuff and come with me to the other end of the hall so we do. He then tells me to go in and make sure it's clean and everything is ok. I go in and the floors are wet like they were mopped but there was hair and dirt all over them so I said "No it's not ok it's filthy!" He tells me he doesn't see anything so what do I do? I wipe my hand across the floor and of course it's covered in dirt and hair as you can see in the video. So of course I said this is not ok. It's disgusting. He told me I needed to go to talk to the manager so I go to the front desk where the manager and the guy who took us to the second room are talking in their language. As soon as I came to the desk I am instantly asked by the manager "What is your problem" to which I replied "The room you have moved us to is just as gross as the first one" he said there was nothing wrong with the first room and since no one came into our room last night the door was fine too. He said come with me show me what YOU think is gross. I said the hair and dirt all over the floor is gross. The guy behind the desk said something in his language about me wiping my hand on the floor and the manager questioned me about doing it I said yes I did it and it was disgusting. The manager immediately started yelling at me and said "you have NO RIGHT to wipe your hand on the floor and tell me my rooms are disgusting! You need get out of my property." This was before we had even made it up there for me to show him what I was talking about. At that point it didn't matter what I said he just talked over me and kept telling "GET OUT" "GET OUT NOW" I went back upstairs to tell my husband what had happened and he went down to talk to them to find out why they were making us leave and he was instantly met with the manager telling him " don't say anything just leave right now". My husband took the keys back to the desk and get a receipt showing we had checked out so they couldn't say we didn't and keep charging us. As I'm looking at the receipt I realize it says Balance Due $(176.80). But they had already charged my card for the full 3 nights. I thought it was the refund for the 2 nights even though they said they were not giving it. Aahhhh nope.. they charged us another $176 for checking out early. They falsified information saying the reason I was charged the $176 was because it was OUR choice to leave. When I called to see what could be done the person helping me through Quality Inn corporate office kept asking me if at any point I asked for a refund before they had told us to leave and I said "no because I just wanted a clean room" but in their notes it was written more than once that WE had asked to modify our stay from 1 night to 3. We are on our honeymoon why would we do that?! THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING IN ALL WAYS! DO NOT STAY THERE!

It was really filthy when I stayed here. Floors were sticky. Bathroom was dirty. Smelled bad. Would rather sleep in my car.

Manager is an asshole and the service is very poor. No customer service at all, shitty staff especially the manager and the front desk lady.

Upon checking in the staff was very kind and welcoming. Walking into the room it is very dated some things seem missing and things like the counter were crooked, little to no water preasures at the sink, but it was fairly clean and nothing to really complain about. During the stay I used the pull bar which immediately snapped from the bottom and I fell with the bar in hand which completely came off from the wall. I probably should have notified the front desk, but it was late and didn't want to be bothered or moved. The staff came in later that day to replace towels, I figured they would have notified maintenance or something, but no one said anything and I'd be leaving shortly anyway. When I checked out I mentioned when I pulled myself up on the pull bar in the bathtub it came loose and would need to be repaired before booking the room again. The front desk didn't indicate anything and seemed friendly. Hours later I get a huge damage fee added to the bill. I called asked about, it and they just said there was damage to the room and because I didn't immediately report it, there is a fee, he indicated they knew about it and had taken photos, but again never said or did anything... I let him know the anchors at the top of the bar were certainly not adequate (didn't appear to be gripping anything except the shower pannel and drywall-see photo) and the screws at the bottom of the bar were completely rusted-see photo. He continued to gaslight me which really set me off. This is property liability and negligence. The condition of the tub and area is obviously not well maintained. The cheap coating they used to cover rust in the tub is flaking off so much that the tub was already clogged with white flakes prior to even trying to use it. Still its my fault, and when asked about safty inspections he says they do them constantly, well this is maintenance failure and I wasn't going to make anything of it untill getting this charge which they refused to do anything about untill maybe Monday. I did contact corporate and they basically said the same thing no one there could do anything untill maybe later. I offered to send photos and they didn't want them. Maybe they want a photo of my butt with a bruse on it? What if this happened to an elderly person who could have suffered serious injuries or someone who was looking for a pay out... they wouldn't have notified the front desk they would have called a lawyer for premises liability and obvious negligence in addition they showed zero care. Never asked if I was ok only issue charges for their own safty failures. Since this happened I feel confident there are probably many safty issues at this premises. Corporate or even the insurer of this location should send out their own safty inspection to minimize liability. The way they went about this is simply underhanded and wrong, they have no issue issuing the fees without a manager that is capable of doing anything, but "can't do anything about it until later" for everything else. I let them know I would issuing complaints and contacting the CC to dispute this charge in addition I will be contacting city code compliance. Instead of offering an apology and fixing the issue for the next guest they do the opposite, add insult to injury. I will attach photos and you decide, do you want to stay at a place that allows this, knows about it, but won't do anything other than charge you for it. Notice the bottom screws there is no fresh metal exposed so these were deffinitly completely rusted through.

I was warmly greeted by their team at check in and was in my room in no time. Room was clean and comfortable and pretty quiet considering how close we were to the interstate. Interestingly, liners were staged for use in trash cans but not in the cans. Even more interesting is the inability to connect to their wifi. Not too big of a deal as I had nothing pressing to take care of, but as a Bonvoy member I was unable to access despite my credentials. To be fair, I realize internet services may have been impacted by SC tornadoes spawned by Hurricane Helene. Breakfast was abundant and good. Eggs, sausage, sweet waffles and other items made the meal good and satisfying. The best part of the stay? The SpringHill Suites Team! Cheerful and accommodating! I'd return to this property.

They had USB ports in the lamps, but it's 2026, who's still using those older USB plugs like that? That alone was frustrating. To be fair, the room itself was clean, but stepping outside into the hallway was a different story. There was what looked like the craziest stain in the carpet, not fresh, but clearly the aftermath of a rough night for somebody. The wild part is we had to walk past it for five days, so whatever cleaning happened clearly didn't fully take care of it. On top of that, the hallways had a light marijuana smell that lingered throughout the building. They do have a pool, but it had to be drained twice during our stay. It also didn't help that kids were running around unaccompanied, not just in the pool, but also in the gym, which ended up getting trashed too. And honestly, calling it a pool is being generous. It's just big enough to qualify, and even then it feels like the bare minimum, closer to a kiddie pool than anything worth using. Now let's talk breakfast, because this one was all over the place. Day one: sausage, oatmeal, boiled eggs. Day two: scrambled eggs and dry turkey sausage. Day three: scrambled eggs, thick cut bacon, corned beef hash. By day five, I just skipped it. And yes, there were waffles every day if that's your thing, but I don't eat those. Honestly, I don't understand why they couldn't just keep it simple, eggs, potatoes, and a meat. Some of the options felt random, and at times, the food just wasn't good. One thing I will give them, the staff was great. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, and check-in was quick and smooth. That was easily the best part of the stay. The location is solid too, right by a mall and plenty of food options, which made things convenient. Overall, for the price, it wasn't terrible, but I'd definitely pay a little more next time to stay somewhere else. It didn't ruin the trip, but it also didn't feel like a true Marriott experience. Definitely a one and done for me.
