Unfortunately they only rent cabins by the week (Saturday to Saturday), so we had to stay in town after we came north from the Twin Cities on Thursday. The proprietor is doing his utmost to renovate cabins, but he hadn't gotten to ours yet. Even so, it was very livable for the week, with a full kitchen, spacious living/dining room with cable looking out to Sand Lake, but only one tiny bathroom with shower. The front porch was very pleasant but the skeeters didn't always let us stay very long. The beach would be ideal for small ones, whereas we tended to take out the two available kayaks to explore the large lake and an island about half a mile away. Several parties shot of decent fireworks on the 4th and 5th. We plan to return next summer.

"VERY DISAPPOINTED - MUST READ"…read more We stayed here with some friends July 9-16. Between our group, there were two cabins rented. Some of our friends even rented a pontoon for a day. The owners of this resort are LeRoy and Nancy, and they are VERY RUDE. At check in, our friends - a husband, wife, and 19 year old daughter - were told by Nancy not to trash the place?! What is that suppose to mean? Who says that to a nice looking family. As they were settling in, LeRoy just walked into their cabin to get a broom he said he forgot in there. He didn't even knock, he just walked right in on them. They were shocked. The cabin we (2 couples) stayed in had curtains for bedroom doors, extremely small, for a cost of $1,435 for the week.We are seasoned travelers, and were very disappointed with the accommodations. At our check-in, we asked for cabin keys and they said they don't give any out, and that no one has ever had anything stolen yet. We asked if they would reimburse us if any of our tablets or phones were stolen, and they said no. When we insisted on a key, they had to try to find one. When they gave it to me, they said they weren't sure if it was the correct key or not for our cabin. We tried it on the regular door, and it worked. But the key did us no good, as the sliding patio door lock is broken, so that could never be locked. We ended up locking our valuables in our vehicles. My husband fixed the patio sliding door screen by screwing down on the lower track so that the screen was square and there wouldn't be a big gap at the top where the mosquitoes would come in. At one point, the patio screen came off the track, so we called LeRoy. He came over and put it back on the track and told us that it was not kid proof - we told him we don't have any kids here - and he said well you can't be hard on it. We told him we are are not being hard on it but just sliding it open, and that maybe he needs to replace the door. At check-in, LeRoy showed us where to park our truck and boat trailer, which we did. After getting settled, we got on our boat and went for a ride. Shortly thereafter, I got a call on my cell-phonel from LeRoy to see if we could come back and move our trailer as his lawn service came and he wants them to be able to cut where our trailer was parked. We were across the lake and told him we wouldn't be coming back right away. At one point LeRoy came to our cabin door and knocked on it to tell us something. My husband opened the door, and LeRoy's large dog just ran right in and ran around the cabin while we were fixing dinner. LeRoy just sat there and tried to call the dog over to him. These are just some of the things we experienced. At check-out, we discussed everything with the owners and told them that they have lost our future business and that of our friends. They need to learn how to run a resort, and treat their paying customers with respect. STAY AWAY FROM GLENMORE RESORT - Instead stay at Everette Bay Lodge. We stopped and met the owners while we were up there, and checked out their cabins. Very nice, and for the same cost. Stayed July 2016 1 of 5 stars Value 1 of 5 stars Sleep Quality

It's nice to have a couch and TV separate from the bedroom. We golfed at The Legend and The Quarry. They were beautiful courses Fairways and greens were well maintained. Legend was a little less than 5100 from the forward tees which was very fair. Quarry was closer to 5200, so longer and much more narrow. Don't forget to look for the giant bear claw on The Legend. Lots of driving between some holes but enjoy the scenery while you are cruising. Great courses. I struggled to rate this. I loved the golf but the accommodations had some pros and cons. Lodging pros - separate bedroom and living area - kitchenette - close to everything we wanted to do - Two TVs Lodging cons - the shower water never got really hot to that end the jacuzzi in the room was never used because we couldn't get it hot enough to want to sit in it - separate rooms are nice but controlling the temp was hard as air conditioning was in bedroom but thermostat was in living room. There are fans to help but in the end the bedroom was usually very cold - the TV in the bedroom was hit or miss on displaying channels. - WiFi was hit or miss. - rooms are owned by individuals so it's like renting a vrbo. To that end, no housekeeping. Not sure if you could request it. We didn't stay long enough for it to be a major issue.

First the resort is nice along with the cabins here plus being right by the lake…read more However, beware of the owner Kim...Me, and 3 guests rented a cabin at this resort last month and Kim did make the visit not so pleasant. If you want your privacy invaded by the owner with family friends visiting along with extra fees that should not be charged along and last awful customer service skills, then this is the place for you. I myself was only there for just under a week. The owner is charging us way more than we were quoted. We were quoted just under $3000 for the entire rental and then after we left added all these fees to the final bill which we were not told about at all, more about that later in this review. Other than the final charges being way over and not told about prior, Kim did some things which we feel crossed the line along with showing she does not care about customer service when there is a dispute on the bill. During time at cabin, one of friends family came up for part of the day, while outside having a great time talking a nice conversation, the owner Kim unexpectedly stands behind them listening to the conversation Friend and her family members are having then RUDELY interrupts and starts talking about herself. Not only time too, I was outside with good friend, his good friend from Hibbing, saw Kim driving around, yet felt she was listening to our conversation. Not a pleasant feeling at all, makes you feel uncomfortable. Last year, friend (2021) was staying there and Kim asked her to take photos of any license plates for ANY visitor, even if friends or family visiting the resort then send over text. Reason being too is Kim or her assistance to run background checks on them. What an invasion of privacy! Friend was so embarrassed too. Background checks to that nature should only be done for certain purposes NOT visiting a resort, never ever seen that in the 40 years Ive been living. According to the Better Business Bureau, the resort has been in business for 27 years, BUT the sad thing is Kim shows poor customer service skills. On final bill we are being charges extra guest fees when only 4 were staying at cabin at any given time, but Kim claims in her rebuttal due a family reunion friend was having the "Septic and Well systems would be severely taxed." The problem with the owner's claim is it's a TOTAL LIE, friend had family over, BUT THEY Never stayed in the cabin or even go inside to use the restroom. Owner Kim did say 4 people can stay in a cabin with no extra guest charges, as I noted, NOT ONCE during the 2 weeks when we were renting had any more than 4 people in cabin. In addition, we were charged 15 bucks for 2 bags of ice and get this...$90 BUCKS for using 2 pieces of firewood. When we asked about the charges on final invoice, Kim refused to talk about, and sent nasty text messages to f. Since I agreed with my friends to pay the final charges, I sent 2 emails to Kim asking for a reduction plus extra time to pay and asking the cost of rental stay as quoted, never got a response back to me, BUT Kim sends only to my friend nasty attitude text messages with outrageous excuses for the extra charges. Here is the thing I have figured out , she will be like that with women but not with guys. It's like she is scared to speak to me which is appalling for a business owner and a shameful thing to do when it comes to customer service. My advice...AVOID renting a cabin here at all COSTS. I've given the owner Kim one last chance to reply TO me. If she does NOT, I will be filling a complaint with Better Business Bureau and with the Minnesota Attorney Generals Office. Last the MN Dept Of Commerce might be also contacted. Likely the owner Kim will reply to this review, but her side of story will be all not true. One last thing, on day of checking out at the cabin, her mom really helped to clean the cabin out. Kim does a walkthrough then demands friends 74 year old mother water the plants outside when it should be either Kim or her employees job to do, but wait Kim has no workers because they all quit I heard due to how she treated her employees.
