Our family has been in some national parks but the whole family all agrees that this trip to Voyageurs National Park on is one of the best. The main reasons are that we stayed on Ebel's houseboat, did motorboating, kayaking and some camping. Before this trip, we didn't know much about operating boat. But Dannis explained everything in details and went extra mile helping us on our first day. On the 3rd day something unexpected happened and we needed urgent help. Justin and Katie responded quickly and efficiently solved the problem. They truly care about their customers and we really appreciated their help. We highly recommend Ebel.

We had the vista series this trip and it was amazing! We loved the solarium front of the boat and the hot tub on the upper deck! Sitting on the deck is ideal, but very difficult to obtain at dinnertime. The main dining room is okay, but I'm not a big fan of the rustic look (and I certainly don't agree that it is "rustic, yet elegant" as noted on their website. If you arrive at peak time then you might be relegated to a table in the lobby, which just isn't my idea of a nice dinner venue. The menu is a bit variable also -- there are some very good offerings and several so-so dishes. I've found that the specials and fish dishes tend to be better. Note that you really need to call for a reservation; ideally 3-7 days before you want to go. There aren't very many higher-quality restaurants in Ely and they get busy very quickly during peak season.

There is a huge bar with tables ringed around it. We had a nice view of the lake. Service was very slow. Waited an eternity for the waitress to show up, order and even pay. That is ding of one star. My Sunrise Burger, cooked pink with a fried egg was superb, absolute perfection. Really good. So were the crunchy fries. Five stars. There are many yummy menu items I would like to try on future trips. Prices are reasonable. So the food is great, interior great, huge dock for boat access and a big parking lot. I will be back.

Ron and Leah are the Innkeeper's and they are super friendly, sweet and knowledgeable about the area. We stayed in the King Romantic Suite. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable! The large bathroom also had a two person jetted tub that we enjoyed. In addition, they had wine waiting for us in our room at no additional cost, so nice! The breakfast was delicious! Leah prepared peach stuffed crepes with a blueberry cream topping. The bacon...ohhh the bacon was soooo good! They prepare organic food and you can tell the difference! We also had yogurt, granola, fruit toppings, orange juice and coffee. You can tell they truly care and want their quests to have an enjoyable, relaxing time. Will stay again and will even get my parents a stay for their anniversary!

We just spent 4 days here. We rented a pontoon for the day for $120 plus gas. We stayed in cabin #4. It had air conditioning, stove, refrigerator with a freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Everything is in good working condition and clean! It is not a 4 star hotel but we were not expecting that. Each cabin has a gas grill and fire pit. You can buy firewood, ice and bait. The resort is on Lake Wabedo, which is a good sized lake. We saw eagles, deer and loons. We loved hearing the loons call each other . Maggie and Jerry were excellent hosts and take very good care of you.
