Looks modern and clean when entering the lobby, and for the most part it is clean but their are exceptions, such as the desk chair in room 202 is nasty. Some of the pillows on the sofa in the dinning and recreation area are dirty. The decor, furniture, and appliances are modern, lean and overly simplistic, and somewhat nonsensical, like having a mini- fridge but no microwave or coffee pot. The desk is too small and the desk chair is uncomfortable. The bed was OK, the pillows were lousy. The soap dispensers over the vanity and in the shower are too high. They will be a problem for shorter people. The breakfast is sub-par in offerings and quality. The two days we were there the decaf was lukewarm. They do offer hard boiled eggs which provides an option to the high preservative, reconstituted scrambled eggs they serve. The room with taxes was $394 for two nights. On the upside the room AC worked great and the location is next to Buc-ees and close to restrauants.

Clean and Stylish Lobby, But the Room Disappointed We stayed…read morehere during a regular pass through Terrell, hoping this hotel would be an upgrade from the one we previously used. At first glance, it seemed promising - the location is great, the parking felt safe, and the lobby was very clean and modern, with a nice "new age" look. Unfortunately, the room didn't live up to the first impression. It was tiny, even for two people. The bed was incredibly hard, and worse - it didn't fit the oversized frame it was on. As I showed in the photos I uploaded, I hit my shin badly on the bed frame, drew blood, and it hurt like heck. When I went downstairs to show the clerk, she offered no help at all - not even a bandage. The room also lacked a microwave, which was a letdown. And oddly, my keycard stopped working around 9:50 a.m., just before checkout. We travel through this area 3-4 times a year, and while this place was cleaner than our last spot, I've never been injured at the other hotel. Next time, I'll be looking for a room with more space - and a safer layout.

The continental breakfast was very good and had many choices. Sad fact, they did not have the waffle makers and the pancake maker was broken. I enjoy my continental breakfast and is what I look for in a hotel. This one has pastries, along with bagels and muffins, fruit, yogurt and cereal as well. Scrambled eggs and cheese omelet, pork sausage and pork patties biscuits and gravy. They also had a warm apple crisp that was absolutely great, I had two.

Lots of hotels were booked out and it was a busy night with people and drivers everywhere enjoying the weekend. I decided to drive outside of the city to find a hotel, 30-mins from Dallas I luckily found availability in Terrell. It is a small town which was nice for a quiet night. The front desk was super welcoming! Upon entering the lobby smelled sooo nice. My room was comfortable and clean, I had a pleasant night and enjoyed my stay. More hotels should be this way, especially because not all La Quinta hotels have the same quality standards (as a member I've stayed at several).

The best part of this stay were the beds and the variety of pillows (soft to firm). 5 stars there. Each bed had 4 to choose from. Both beds had very comfortably firm mattresses and to my delight, we also had our pick of pillows. Noticed this before passing out from exhaustion from a long day's driving, and again in the morning. Breakfast, 3.5-4 stars. Cute Texas-shaped waffle maker. Would have liked a hot protein breakfast (no eggs, sausages, etc.) Overall, the bed/pillows make this a B++ facility. If it was a choice between the bed/pillows or the breakfast, the bed/pillow is a higher priority for me. I've stayed at a dozen hotels in the last year and this one wins hands down for bed/pillows. This is also the only one I've bothered reviewing because if it's just average overall, it doesn't make much difference. Price was also good, thus considering the price savings, it offsets the no-hot-protein breakfast.

To my surprise, Melissa began raising her voice. Despite my repeated, respectful questions about why she was yelling, she continued to loudly insist she was not. Regardless of prior interactions, this behavior was unprofessional. I strongly encourage management to review any call recordings, as the interaction left a very negative impression and did not reflect appropriate service standards.
