My wife purchased a head of cabbage today, for a dinner we had planned. As we prepared for dinner, I began by removing a few black edged leaves which you might encounter with a product shipped from Mexico or California.
However I ended up removing about 1/3 of the head of cabbage in order to get enough clean product for dinner. My wife watched as I trimmed more and more of the cabbage, only to find more and more blackened material throughout the cabbage.
This may seem like a "little thing" but when you live in the country, a trip to the store is not a quick thing to get another cabbage. It had black material on it at the outset. Perhaps my wife should have questioned it but sure as Hell, anyone in your organization who handles produce should recognize that piece of garbage during the process of getting it on display. You should have realized it was BAD. I wonder how many others bought tainted goods.
It is your entire business to provide quality product to customers. It's not just a service, it's a health issue, it's a trust issue. God forbid that some poor pensioner buys something from you thinking it's a good deal - only to get home and realize their 'good deal' was 30% crap. What would they do? Should they stop dinner and get on the bus and come see you? You should consider that not everyone is a customer living a block away from you.
Quality Foods, you ruined our evening. I don't give a damn about a replacement, your disservice goes far deeper. Perhaps it's your corporate way to push garbage to people and hope it's marginally OK so people don't complain. But to call yourselves "Quality Foods" and push marginal produce to customers is disgraceful. If this is the best you can do, you better go into some other line of work. read more
