When you need service immediately, when your A/C breaks down, I recommend not to call this these people, they told me that they will have to get back to me when their is an opening, It took three days when they finally call me to set up a appointment, three days is way to long, I found another local A/C business that came out that same day. Our A/C stopped working around 4:30 pm today and the house was heating up fast. We called Quality Cooling & Heating after calling a couple local companies that did not answer their phone. One company here in town told us it would be 4 days before they could come out. The lady that answered the phone was knowledgeable and very reassuring that someone could be here within 1-2 hours so we breathed a sigh of relief. While waiting for the technician to arrive we were sent a text with a photo of Daniel Weimer with his background and position with the company, his military service, and even a link to follow him while he was in his way to our house! Unheard of!!!! Within the hour he was here and was very knowledgeable, professional, personable, considerate, and kind. He had our house cooling down within the hour! We had something called dirty sock syndrome that was causing a horrible smell when our AC was on. Nate came out and inspected our coil and surrounding area and took lots of pictures, and said it's from mold and bacteria on the coil. All the pictures were of mold on pipes or the drain bin but he could not show one of the coil. To fix everything, he said he would need to apply a cleaning agent to the coil to kill all bacteria, add shutoff switches for when there is excess water, and install the UV lights to kill bacteria going forward. He came in prepared with the quote for only applying the cleaning agent ($1,500!) and the cost to do everything ($6,000!!!!) both nicely laid out with respective financing offers and payment plans. I then mentioned I'm already on a payment plan for having his company replace our upstairs AC coil (they told me the coil was covered by the warranty but not the labor). Nate was surprised and indicated they normally don't charge if the coil is covered. Great - already ripped off once but not a second time!! I called Patriot Appliance Repair to come out and the owner came and did everything for $765 (parts and labor)!!! Quality Cool is DISGUSTING and sales hacks that rip people off. I asked Patriot how much they would have charged us for replacing our coil under warranty. They would have replaced our AC coil for a FRACTION of what they charged us in labor for replacing our coil. And now I have several thousands of dollars of debt I'm repaying bc of this company's greed and lack of any resemblance of ethical behavior. I cannot recommend this company, but I can recommend you stay away from them unless you want to get ripped off and overpay. read more

Our heating system has been providing uneven temperatures throughout the home. Quality Cooling and Heating sent Rudy out to evaluate the problem. After troubleshooting our system he explained the problem and offered several solutions. Rudy was courteous, friendly, and professional. I called quality out on a 5 yr old air conditioning that I bought from them, it had stopped cooling. It came with a cool certificate that states "gold warranty" full 10 year warranty. Now the warranty states I have to get a tune-up and thorough cleaning between the years 2 and 10. I called Quality and was told I am need to do my yearly tune up and I told them I thought I only had to do one between years 2 and 10, not yearly....see below warranty for info but this paper isnt worth what its printed on. I also got a minimum labor charge added to my bill of $49 with a $74 diagnostic fee. I have attached the so-called warranty below, look for yourself. Again it means something different to the folks at quality. I know I went to school in Texas but it looks pretty cut and dry to me. Bottom line, stay away from this company!!!! It has been three years since I first used Quality Cooling and Heating. And, once again, the service was excellent. David - the technician - told me just what was going on with the problem, the optimal solution, and other options. He did confirm the costs for me to authorize them so there were no surprises. So he got the system running, will get the final parts to square it completely away, and they will get a technician out to finish it once the parts are in. He did advise me about the problems with an older system like mine (about 20 years old) and offered - not pushy - to have their salesman come out and let me know what it would cost to replace the system in case mine cratered. I appreciated this. While having the AC system go out - especially now - is stressful, I do not get as stressed thanks to Quality! read more

Two techs replaced the motor in my AC and called it done, told the roommates it would be working and start to cool off. 7 hours later I come home, expecting a cooler home, and no - it's not. I'm sorry, but my 86 year old mother-in-law does NOT need to spend $7,000 on a new unit (per another company who deemed her unit to be just fine)!! My 86 year old mother-in-law doesn't have $7,000!! She can better afford to pay for her slightly higher monthly costs. Oh wait, it hasn't been that long since my husband and I bought her a new a/c and heating unit so her unit actually isn't too outdated or inefficient. I'm sorry, I still feel that the guy who showed up at her house attempted to take advantage of her big time!! If you are a club member at Quality, cancel your membership now. I've paid into my club membership since 2010 and have never needed to utilize their services until this past Saturday when my unit stopped working. The technician on-call lives right down the road from us and since we were the first call in the morning he would be right by. Two hours later I had to call and see where he was. He answered another "emergency call" that came in after ours. Same problem the caller' s A.C. not working. Technician stated he would be by as soon as he was finished. Twelve hours later, the house is now 90°+ inside and technician continued answering other service calls all day. Finally, made it to our house after 6:30 p.m. it took less than 10 minutes to replace a bad capacitor. Then charged me $189 over a 600% mark-up on the actual cost of the capacitor. Found this out after doing some research. So my club membership with Quality over the years has netted the company close to $1100 and no work done for this money. The one time I need service my membership gets me put at the back of the line and then charged an exorbitant amount for a part that I found out at its highest markup in Abilene would have cost me $40 at any supply store. The technician did not check to make sure everything was running properly before he collected his money and left. I had to reset everything and restart the system before things started to cool off. He didn't leave before trying to up sell me for another $200 worth of equipment. I'm cancelling the useless club membership and will be using another company in the future. read more

I signed up for the maintenance program and that is a waste of money. The technician drove by my house three times looking for the address as I was sitting out front waving at him. Bill solved my problem and educated me on how the deicing system works on Central Air. Also now how to use emergency heat during cold weather. Electric heat should replace coolant heat as outside temperature hovers around freezing. read more

Very disappointed. Just paid nearly 600 dollars for our Gold plan. Now told after units are serviced that they no longer honor the Gold plan. Why didn't they tell us that when we paid it last month or when we called for service. Had to pay for filter that should have been covered. Nate showed up and was able to diagnose and provide a game plan for our AC that went out the week after buying a home. We already had a company sent by the home warranty out that same day, who drastically misdiagnosed the situation. Instead of a recharge of refrigerant, we are looking at needing a new unit altogether! Nate provided us with video (as well as showing us in the attic) of what he found, gave us pointers to use in the future, and getting an estimate for our options. He never talked negatively about the other company, yet explained to us why the previous diagnosis was so so very incorrect. Nate was very professional and easy to talk to. As a mom of a wee one who was home alone at the onset of the visit, Nate never made me feel uncomfortable, and never demeaned my intellect as some tend to do when dealing with a female. read more

When I called to scheduled the repair, they told me it would cost $99 for the service call plus parts and labor. The repairman spent 10 minutes in our attic. He did not replace any parts. He reset a switch and when he was done he told me I owed $209. I asked the man what the additional fees were and he said it was for labor. I said I would be providing a seething review regarding his fraudulent practices and he very rudely said if I thought his work was only worth $99 on a Saturday then he would take that. That day the guys were out in the snow & they have ALWAYS been show care & concern. They always take the time to check everything they've had to do so my unit runs efficiently. I had them install my A/C system in my new home nearly 11 years ago with a super high efficiency unit that they recommended. Our utility bills have been modest compared to friends bills during the summer, and winter months. The unit came with a full 10 year warranty,and service that I'm glad we got... The unit had it's first breakdown last week and they were at my home the same day, and had us cooling again within 2 hours at no charge! I will be using them again when it is time to replace my unit because of their value. 1/15/16... I decided to remove my 12 year old heat pumps and go back with high efficiency propane furnaces, and 20 seer a/c units. Quailty did a great job, was very careful, and respectful with my home and family. Our electric bill dropped considerably, and the gas heat is so much warmer.... This is a great company. We told them we were leaving for a dinner date right in the middle of their job,and our daughter would be home. They immediately loaded up and left, and said no problem we will return tomorrow to finish about an hour worth of work. They didn't want us to feel uncomfortable with men in the house with our daughter. ( which we didn't with these gentlemen) So professional! I feel I get great value for every dollar I spend with this company! read more

I had Nate come out to look at my AC on August 14th because it had frozen over. He did the diagnostic outside (did not open the panel on the inside unit at any point during the visit) and it looks like I have a leak somewhere because the pressure numbers were off and coolant was low. Makes sense. But then he proceeded to tell me that it would be $500, on top of the $74 visit fee I would already be paying, just for him to do the "leak search." This would not include the price of fixing it. Without even seeing if the leak was obvious on the inside unit. So I asked him just to fill up the coolant and see how it does, and that alone ended up in a $475 visit. After all that, he still tried to sell me on getting the maintenance agreement because "he knows he'll be back to fix the leak." Absolutely not. I called Hall air conditioning and they came out and took care of the leak (including "searching" for it) for less than $200. It is wrong to try to rip people off when it is 104 degrees outside every day and we need our air conditioners desperately. I will never call Quality again. read more

I had a new AC system installed in 2013. Everything involved with purchasing and having it installed was great. Their customer service and installation crew were polite and very knowledgeable. Fast forward to the first week of May 2015. Our AC wasn't working after we got home from work one evening, so I called Quality. I was told that it would be 4 days before they could even come and look at it. The next day we were getting a little warm and called them back asking if they could come out earlier. They said they would be able to make it out that night, awesome. The tech that came out said it needed some freon, no big deal. He serviced the unit and said that we should be good until they could get back out to find out why it needed freon. He did not feel the need to come inside to troubleshoot the air handler or inside unit. The AC quit working approximately 4 hours after he left. Called them back and another tech came out, he said it needed another part that would have to be ordered. He said he couldn't figure out why the first technician said it needed freon when he didn't even come inside to troubleshoot the inside unit. It will be next week before the part will be in, hopefully it won't be too long before it can be installed?! I am not at all impressed or excited about the customer service I received. read more

AC was not blowing cold air. Originally called another company and they said the AC needed to be replaced. I called quality for a second opinion. They said the same thing. The difference was the customer service. Adam took me through what was wrong and gave us options. He was very friendly and patient and answered all questions. Nobody wants to hear they need a new AC unit but Quality Cooling and heating made it a painless experience. The installers were also great. They answered all questions and even opened up an air vent in our bedroom to allow more air. They stand behind their work and I would recommend them to anyone needing AC or heat work done. read more

Had a new system installed by Quality 10 years ago, with the system came a fancy talking thermostat. One of the things the thermostat would constantly remind me of is that it came with a LIFETIME warranty from Quality Cooling and Heating. Well the thermostat has failed, AC system will not work. Called the office and left my information and was promised I would get a call back. Did not hear from them so next day I was driving to Abilene (live 45 miles away). I carried the broken thermostat into their office and asked them if I could get it replaced. Imagine my shock when they said they would replace it but it would cost me $175 for the technician to go to my home and install it!!!! I am standing there with the bad unit in my hand and they wanted me to pay someone to install the warranty replacement. No where was it written or implied I would have to pay for a warranty replacement. Technician sitting there told me it was because they had to make sure it was installed correctly and everything worked. There are 4 colored wires to this thermostat, not rocket science. He said if I shorted wires they would need to travel to the house to repair the unit. I assured him they would not be travelling to my home for any repairs......EVER. BTW I went to Walmart and purchased replacement for $20 and installed it in 5 minutes. Air conditioner works fine now. read more
