I got a letter today from Dr. R stating she will no longer be working for the practice. My hubby…read moretalked to her personally last week and she's going to work for a college doing research and will no longer be a medical doctor. I can't tell you how extremely upsetting this is, especially after the 5 year search I had finally completed when I found her. Decatur needs more docs of her magnitude. If anyone knows of a comparable doctor, please let me know! :(

Much like Courtney, I have to sing the praises of Dr. Rabinovitz…read more Having been a patient of a former PA at this practice, I was disheartened when I called one day and found out she was no longer working there. I contemplated looking for a new PCP, but the receptionist told me I could schedule my appointment with the new physician, Dr. Rabinovitz. Apprehensively, I agreed to it. I am so glad I did. Dr. Rabinovitz is the most attentive medial professional I have ever dealt with (and I have dealt with quite a few). She asks thoughtful questions, and takes time to listen to your questions and concerns. She remembers who I am and bits about my life. Even though I am usually rather freaked out and squeamish when I'm in an exam room, there is always at least a little laughter with Dr. R. I've had experiences where I've left a doctor's appointment feeling embarrassed and almost stupid to a degree, but this hasn't been the case since becoming a patient of Dr. Rabinovitz. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for a personable, knowledgeable, physician, then this is the doctor for you.

For 11 years in Atlanta I've been going to swanky Buckhead, Dunwoody, and Pill Hill locations for…read morehealth care. Economic downturns and new insurance forced me to a narrow choice - mostly at the Georgia Clinic. I could NOT be happier! I figured I'd get basic, basic care. And, true, in the bathroom where you do your specimins, there are boxes of supplies stored there. But it's clean and MOST IMPORTANTLY.... Dr. Ali is a freakin' lifesaver. SO thoughtful, SO personal, SO concerned. All the things I had hoped my pre-divorce overpriced physicians would give me. LITERALLY, she saved my life. At my first casual physical with her last month, she took the usual tests. One was a blood test. The next morning SHE, herself, NOT her staff, called my home with results and an urgent request that I go to an ER immediately for transfusions. When she couldnt' reach me (my cell was left in another room & I didn't hear it), she HERSELF called my "emergency contact" friend and insisted he leave work immediately, drive to my house, get me to an ER, and call her back on her personal phone immediately. WHAT!!??? SO glad I "had" to dump my Dunwoody docs... who hadn't found this, despite my saying as recently as last month that I was unusually tired (and other blood-loss symptoms, which I NOW know are standard). Nice carpeting, soothing decor and the most up-to-date office tools do NOT equal personal attention, educated responses, and caring. Dr. Ali is my new favorite person on the planet. And all I can say is, because of her, I AM on the planet! PLUS - you might not be touchy-feely, but EYE appreciated her saying, upon first meeting and examining me, that she considers meditation and prayer as important as any part of maintaining good health and balance. She's so bright, positive, and caring. She spent an inordinate amount of time with me - more than my expensive docs EVER did - and does with all her patients, which is why she's still at the office seeing people at six o'clock! In addition, in three appointments now, the longest I have waited was 15 minutes. Shortest - less than 5. Tell THAT kind of rate to my Buckhead-y salon-type practices where an hour wait (with an appt!!) is typical. Oh, Dr. Ali, I love you!!

I thought it was just the climate change, but when I tried to run it off it just got worse. The Georgia Clinic staff was very friendly and always called to check up on me. Dr. Ali explained everything that was going on with me (asthma attacks) and basically educated me on the problem, the cause and treatment. They always fit in with my schedule and follow through to my condition. She even did further tests on me to make sure my health was overall good. The area is nice and the office was clean. I really felt like a person and not a patient to her. I highly recommend Dr. Kareem Ali.

This practice has a lot of great reviews and I want to share my experience in case it helps…read moresomeone. In January 2025 I made an appointment for the earliest new patient appointment, which was in June 2025. I decided to wait for the appointment because I really appreciated the philosophy found on the website and definitely liked the glowing reviews. I had positive interactions with all staff I encountered and the clinic was clean and bright. The provider I met with suspected a new problem/diagnosis and so started a work up with labs and imaging. Clinic staff did follow up with me once labs resulted out and referred me to a specialist. The ordered imaging was performed ~2 weeks after my new patient appt but I never received follow up, from the NP or anyone else at Ponce Primary Care re: the imaging results. It has now been ~3 months since my last communication, specific to my care, with anyone in this office. I decided to reach out to discuss the standard of care, which I felt to be lacking. Dr. Chad Costley did return my call within an hour or so and he did verbalize disappointment with my situation. He assured me that my experience is unfortunately the exception to their typical patient experience. I was informed that the NP I had been assigned to was "only part-time and here less than a month". I did not ever receive any communication from Ponce Primary Care to notify me that my assigned provider was departing or to invite me to call to schedule with another provider for seamless continuity of care. I was told that my imaging results were never sent by the imaging facility I went to and that "this is where the wheels came off". That is absolutely possible but it was also not confirmed to be true at the time of the statement. The report not being in the patient chart does not mean it was never received by the ordering office or sent to the ordering provider. Sometimes things get scanned and assigned incorrectly, or not scanned at all. Lots of possibilities there. To me, that shows a lack of accountability for not holding a supervisory review of a departing provider's caseload/EMR task list and it also fails to consider that an out-of-state fax number associated with the ordering provider could be the problem. I waited 6 months for a new patient appointment and, whatever the circumstances, was lost in the shuffle. I will not be continuing with this practice, although I'm sure they have many satisfied patients as evidenced by their overall rating. My advice if you wish to establish/continue care here: Be able to advocate for yourself and for your own healthcare. Be knowledgeable about when to follow up on your care in case the practice doesn't. If the wait is still 6 months out for a new patient appointment when you try to schedule, do not think an extra special or VIP experience awaits you - realize that they just might be too busy to accept new patients.

Dr. Smiddy spent more than 30 minutes, one on one, going over my medical history and was steadfast in his pursuit of details regarding my health. He's also a bit of a rare find in that he possesses a very keen sense of listening. Furthermore, while the results of my bloodwork were good and unloaded into the patient's portal the following morning, Dr. Smiddy had an associate call me just to reassure me that everything was fine, which is a courtesy I've not experienced since patient records were put online. Highly recommended.

Us Southern patients are usually rubbed the wrong way....they don't pacify you. Although it was some time ago that I had the misfortune to visit the medical practice of Dr…read more Gorokhov, I have realized that I really need to warn people--especially other women--about this physician. I noticed something odd when I first arrived at his practice. It had been listed on the Blue Cross website as being the office for him and his wife Tatyana, also a doctor. But her name had obviously been recently removed from the exterior sign and all the interior signage. I didn't think much about that at the time, but on reflection, it may have been a warning of what was to come. Maybe it wasn't the staff's fault that the tiny waiting room was filled with screaming children hitting each other with no parental supervision in sight. The office staff seemed to feel that the waiting room was not under their control and whatever happened there was none of their business. Wait at your own risk! When I was seen by Dr. Gorokhov, I was struck by his melancholic attitude. This worsened as I tried to explain my medical situation to him. Still, I was amazed when, before I had finished, he shouted, "You're lying, aren't you?" I explained that I was not but he continued to assert throughout the interview that I was lying and that his guesses at my medical situation were more accurate than my own decades of experience with it. In retrospect, I should have left then. His abrasive attitude continued as he asked me if I knew what an allergy to gluten was (although I have never had any symptoms of gluten allergy, he claimed that was what was really the matter with everyone). I said, "Yes, it's an allergy to wheat." "No!" he bellowed. "How can you be so ignorant? Don't you know you can look it up on the internet?" So how was I so wrong? It was, he informed me, an allergy to wheat *and* bulgar. I suppose I should have been more specific! So the office visit was a waste of time and money. He put me through several expensive tests even though I told him that they had been done within the past few months by my previous doctor in South Georgia and that all he had to do was request the results from her. (But then he couldn't have made any money from them, could he?) However, my biggest shock was when I received the results (yes, he sent them by mail) of the blood test. When he decided to do the blood test rather than get the results from the one my previous doctor in Statesboro had done only a couple of months before, he asked if I had eaten recently. I told him I had just eaten lunch. "Well," he said, "That won't matter." Was I surprised when I got the results! He sent the normal results for a fasting blood sugar test--for which the patient is not to have eaten or drunk anything but water for ten hours previously--and compared them to my results right after lunch so he could claim I had a new "serious medical condition" for which, of course, I would need to have extensive expensive treatment by him with a side order of abuse. My only medical training is working as a medical transcriptionist for some years, but even I know that you need to be fasting for the results of a fasting blood sugar test to be valid! Could he really not know this? After I found a much better doctor, I realized that his accusatory and malicious attitude, at least, might have been caused by a recent acrimonious separation or divorce from his wife Tatyana. He seemed determined to take it out on all middle-aged women. Perhaps he would be more polite to a man, but really, do you need a doctor who doesn't know the difference between fasting blood sugar and feasting blood sugar? Save your health, save your self-respect, and avoid this one at all (his very high) costs!
