I drove by the school confused to where the school pick up was, circled the block, then asked the school crossing guard where do I pull up to pick up my child in a friendly tone. The crossing guard who is called Ms.Keisha was immediately hyper aggressive with me yelling "You gotta go, you can't park here, it's a bike lane, you'll get a ticket!!!" I point out a SUV to her that's parked in the bike lane with it's hazard lights in front of the school that's been sitting there for some time and say "what about that car?" She's becomes super irritated and angry, stands in the bike lane screaming "I'm not letting you thru, go!!!!!" "Just go!!! Damn!" I couldn't just go, kids were still crossing the street at the time. I'm just staring at her while she acts out. Now she's dropping F bombs in front of the kids without a care in the world. Just talking smack now but was too cowardly to look me in the eyes when she was talking smack. Mind you, the whole time from my first initial interaction with her, this woman was on her cell phone holding an non emergency conversation on her cell phone not focused on these kids safety while crossing the street. I also noticed her face mask was below her nose, what's the point of wearing a face mask if you aren't going to wear it correctly. Anyway, when I finally had a chance to go at the intersection I said to her "Have a nice day", she responded talking more smack. I don't think this woman has any idea what professionalism is. I called the school immediately after to report the incident. Whoever answered transfered me to principal Welsh phone to leave a voice message. I left a detailed message with my phone number and never received a follow up call after.

Kim the older teacher in the transition room was terrible to my son and other children. she screamed at my child for looking at a puzzle that she laid in front of him and 4 other children and when she realized i was behind her she grabbed my son's face with both of her hands and squeezed acting like he wasn't in trouble. But the worst part is that one of the teachers in the school told my 5 year old son that "God hates mommy. And God hates Aunt Sarah and Aunt Amanda". My son has never been to church or even knew who God was. This was his introduction to religion. When confronted Marybeth claimed no one would say that. My son told me in detail where it was said to him but wasn't sure of the teacher's name. Maryann also claimed that no one knows the names of my son's aunts. I told her there is absolutely no way that they don't know their names because they are listed as emergency contacts and authorized pick up and drop off people. They dropped him off every day while i was at work. They just buzz anyone into the building. They don't even check to see who is at the door or escort the adults to the classroom. So anyone can come in and take your child and they wouldn't know. They also withhold food from the children. Most days my son would come home with most of his lunch not even opened or touched. Do not send your children here. They teach hate and judgement and its not a safe environment.

This review is limited to the high school musical "Spamalot" which I took my husband to see. One of…read morethe nice things about seeing high school musicals is that you save a lot of money and usually get a good show. The performance was held at 10th St Elementary which is where they stage their musical theater. Street parking is available. I was fortunate to get our tickets ahead of time so we would have good seats. I didn't get to see much of the building itself except there is an outdoor playground and I was able to see the school office from a distance. The auditorium is a very nice size and the sound and tech crew sit high above the rear for the effects. I liked the fact that they used the same head mikes which made it a lot easier to catch the lyrics and parts I normally miss when seeing the show in a large theater like the Benedum. These high school students put on an amazing job and although due to space and cost could not use all the props associated with the production (in this case the funny curtain), still, they were able to make up for it in comedy and dance. I loved how they showed picture biographies of the cast in the lobby and and Tee Shirts hanging in the foyer of past productions. Spamalot is a ripoff of Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie set to music where it literally takes jabs at many Broadway musicals of the past. It's definitely a good comedy worth seeing. I want to thank everyone at Riverdale for all the hard work put into this production because a show of this quality is not as easy to replicate on stage.
