If you have not been to this theatre then I must say you have been missing out like myself. I sat next to an 88 year old widow rancher that had been wanting to attend. She was enjoying the show even more than myself. What a great asset to a wonderful community hear in Illinois and Iowa.

We did not see it ahead of time, but there is a super-helpful map on their website noting places you can park near the Spotlight. The theater had a remarkable feel to it. I didn't know that it was in a former Scottish Rite Cathedral, but many of the features have been preserved and add to the character and ambiance. Just of note: the seats were a little uncomfortable by the end due to cramped leg room and needing to sit at an odd angle to see the stage well. We were in Group B which afforded us the wings. Close to the stage but the seats were aimed at the other wall instead of the stage. I wouldn't advocate changing a thing - just something for the ticket buyer to be aware of!

For the performance we attended, they had a mobile cash bar and baked good during intermission. The cost was only $20.00 each, so very affordable.

Since it's so small, it's hard to get around without bump into others and spilling drinks. The bar staff is probably the worst part. I ordered a vodka tonic that the bartender asked about 4 times and each time it was wrong! You are guaranteed to miss 20-30 minutes of any performance if you decide to leave to get a drink. Seat is like being on a small plane, extremely tight and narrow. If you move suddenly you are bound to hit the people next to you. If you stand up, you'll be blocking everyone. And being seated will make your knees and back cramp. The only reason they get 2 stars is due to cleanliness of the building, $15 parking and the view from our seats which is due to the size. Otherwise expect Chicago prices and attitude.

Tammy the owner is not good to the teens. She only caters to the younger kids aka "new business"…read morelike 12 and younger. I had 2 daughters in her studio for years and after repeated requests from my kids to learn new/harder things and Tammy saying just go figure it out, we are moving studios. She has also publicly berated one of my children for not performing at 110% in incredible heat and humidity while on a trip to Disney in Orlando middle of the day and well over 100f. The studio has limited climate control and is often either way too hot or too cold for the kids to perform at their best. The floors in all the rooms are not dance floors they are what you'd see in an industrial setting so hard tile on concrete base which is bad for dancers or gymnasts health. I do not recommend.
