Have been going here for a few years mostly because it's so close to my house. Decent hair cuts particularly from "L." Sometimes when I peek in and see that "L" is not available (but "Q" is) I just keep on walking. Why? When "Q" cuts my hair she rails on and on about immigrants coming to the US through Mexico, even referred to Mexico as "evil." It's constant. I used to challenge her on this but have given up. I'm a guy who is super loyal to his barber once He finds one. I've only had three people cut my hair my entire life. I don't even have good hair I just am scared of change and get comfortable with a stylist once I find one. Prior to coming here I was going to the hair cuttery and seeing one particular stylist. Prior to that I was in Charleston, SC and only went to Broad Street Barbers. I loved to Rockville, MD and found Lynn the stylist at QL. Lynn came recommended from many of my close friends. I always noticed they had a sharp haircut. Lynn will take his time and give you exactly what you want IF YOU TELL HIM EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT. If you don't tell him specifically what you want he will improvise and sometimes you won't end up with the best cut. As long as you explain what you're looking you'll get a sharp cut. He uses a straight razor on the back of my neck and on my sideburns/beard. I'm loyal to this barber now. read more

Nice barber shop run by a very personable Korean couple. I received a haircut from the man working there, and we talked a lot about a wide variety of things. I didn't look too much at the price list, but a regular men's haircut is $14 and a haircut with shampoo (which is what I usually get) runs $18. I believe they also validate parking as well (or at the very least provide quarters for the meters). Usually I go to the Ballston Barber Shop right by where I live in Arlington, and think that's a better value for the price, but this is still a decent place to go for people that work in the area. read more

I've been getting my hair cut at QL for years. Never had to wait more than 10 minutes or so for a cut (even though there's only two barbers there),and I'm usually in and out in 20 or so minutes (enough time for the meters). They always do a good job with my hair, and both barbers are really nice and chatty most of the time (for the record, they're Vietnamese, not Korean, and I don't think they're couple, though they argue like it sometimes). If you want a no-nonsense, inexpensive place to get your haircut (and you're a guy, I've only seen one woman ever go in there to get their hair cut so I dunno how they do with women's hair), I can't recommend this place enough. Great haircut and efficient. I have been to enough places where I appreciate when they take a minute to understand what they are supposed to do before they start cutting. The cut has nice blending from clippers to the top, no neck burn and I don't look like I deliver newspapers. - 2 minute wait - under 20 minutes in the chair - $15 to pay cash vs $17 for card - light conversation about work, yesterday's election (not politic talk) and the weather. My first time here. Queen cut my haircut I specially ask for a flattop short using #1 clippers all around my hair. She NEver listens and I said it's not what I wanted as a real flattop not round top haircut. Queen's facial expression was sad and upset and I asked her redo my hair further. She relulsntly do it so I said I'm leaving I'm paying for my haircut and it's not her choice how to cut my hair. Gave her only 10% $2 bucks for $17 flattop haircut. I came in here and this guy saw a minority come to his door and clearly discriminated me. He demanded I take off my mask which of course I said no. Then demanded I turn around. I tried to work with him to see if he would come around with a better attitude. He went from 22$ to 30$ in an instant without even knowing how short I wanted my hair. It's very common for people of Asian descent to be discriminatory to other cultures. But I didn't put up with it and left. I highly don't recommend you coming here if you like to dress casual and be treated with respect. Because this old couple clearly doesn't like other cultures other than white. They need to understand that type of racist and discriminated attitude doesn't help them or their business. They feel they are untouchable because it's their business. We'll no sir. Discrimination is not allowed. I hope in the future you are mindful of your tone,attitude and "prices". We are not all the same. Remember you're a minority too. You're not better than anyone. This is the first place I received a "non-haircut" . I sat in the chair listening to the barber talk at length about cars for about 30 minutes. And he was so focused about cars that I'm pretty sure he was not paying attention to cutting hair. At the end of the non-haircut, my hair looked like it was not touched. Went here today for a cut. There are only a few barbers open on Sunday. While I tend to go to a salon for a cut, I don't mind going to a barber once in a while. Their prices are decent ($17) but I've had cheaper. This guy and his wife own it and it's just them two. The husband cut my hair and he did a good job. He's very friendly and chatty. I was in town and needed a haircut, so i turned to yelp to find a reasonable place. I decided to give this place a shot as the reviews are not half bad and I didn't want to pay the $45 dollars that other places in the area were charging for a haircut. The experience is not one that I will repeat. The first thing that bothered me is that the chairs do not face the mirror and I couldn't see what the barber was doing most of the time. So, when he finished I wanted a few things different from what he had done (I just wanted it a little shorter on the top). But by this time other customers had come in and the barber seemingly wanted to rush me out. He quickly trimmed my hair shorter and I paid and went home. Once i got home and got closer to a mirror, I noticed that he had trimmed some strange places on my hair line (and only on one side, too!) Why anyone would do that is beyond me. I am totally unhappy with my haircut and will have to wait for the side of my hair to grow out to find a different place to get a haircut. read more

Was visiting a friend in Rockville and was in need of a hair cut. Went to QL Barber on a my friends recommendation. The Barber was nice and very thorough, He did a good job. I basically got a #1 buzz for the hair and beard. I was shocked when I was charged $32 for a basic cut. I will look for a different place the next time I visit the area. This is a great place with great prices in Rockville, MD 20850. I have been getting my hair cut by Queen for about 15 years (even before she opened her own shop with her husband, Linh). They have a perfect location right next to the Regal movie theater in the Rockville Town Center. I really like their location since you can get a hair cut on your way to/from the movie or to/from getting something to eat since there are plenty of restaurants nearby. There is parking at the meters out in front of the shop. There is also a large parking lot to use in front of the shop if you can't find a meter. QL Barber will validate your parking ticket but it will still cost you $1.50 to park in the lot. It is also close to the Rockville Metro. Both Q & L are very friendly, and they give a very good and quick haircut. I have actually never had to wait more than about 10 minutes for a chair, and they are usually done in 15-20 minutes. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in Rockville. Check it out the next time you need a hair cut. read more

Went in and asked for the older gentleman to take an inch and only an inch off the top. From what I could tell, he understood what I said. When he finished and I saw what he did, over 2 inches were taken off. I might as well stayed home and buzzed it all off which is what I ended up doing because it looked so terrible. I used to go around DC and Montgomery County paying $45 for a haircut and shampoo. Rarely did I get a good, consistent haircut. A few years ago I saw QL by accident when I was in Rockville. I stopped in, got a great haircut from Queen, and have been going back since. Always leave with a great haircut -- for less than $20 and no appointment. Went in there with pretty long hair. Probably hadnt cut it for a couple months. The Asian lady gave me an alright cut. Don't think it took more effort or time than usual. Prolly took 15 min, no more. When it came time to pay she said it was 25 cuz my hair was long.(I'm a guy btw). I thought that was kinda pricey for just a cut, where she mostly just buzzed me and took some off the top. Then she asked me if I wanted to add tip. When i said sure add 2 bucks, she was like "that's it?" and gave me a cross look. As I left she didn't even say bye to me when I said bye to her. Went to this place one day when my regular barber was closed and haven't gone back. Not that the other one was bad, just too far away. If you live or work near Rockille town center, this place is great to get a haircut easily and quickly. I believe it's a husband and wife team. Horrible place. walked in with my wife and kids. Both me and my son wanted to get a haircut. The man , who was cutting my hair, definitely did not want to cut it short. I guess the idea is that the longer they leave it, the sooner you come back. The lady, who was cutting my son's hair gave my wife a very very hard time when she asked for a short haircut, repeatedly stopping and warning that "hair will stick out". This is the first time I have heard barber shops giving that warning to my son when asked for a short haircut. After the ordeal was over, the man said that I would be charged $20 for my long hair instead of the regular $17. Again this is the first time ever in my life that I have been charged more than the usual amount for long hair. I had my last haircut about two months ago ! AND he never had said anything about this before starting. AVOID, AVOID and AVOID. Very rude, unpleasant. You can get way better service for $17. I regularly go to My Barber Shop in Bethesda and get way way better service there. read more

I wish I could give "Zero" stars since that's how I feel. I took my son for a haircut since I was in the area and thought I should get this done. BIG MISTAKE. The lady was not happy when I said that I want my son's hair short.She kept saying "He no look good.....no look okay....His hair stick out!!! etc etc blah blah Blah!!!!"...When I have taken my son before to other barber shops, they listen to what the mom wants and get it done..nicely...politely...and efficiently. I was almost arguing with her to cut it short!!! What kind of business is this???? Also, highly unprofessional since I was talking to my friend who was with me in a non-English language and she kept asking my son what I was saying..WHAT!!!!! It is NONE of their business to know what conversation I am having. In the end, she also did not give the cut I wanted and I think she wants to force me to take my son back to them in a month..as if that is going to happen... The woman who was cutting my hair sold her shop and gave up cutting hair. Looking for a new person, I came upon this place on Yelp. Given the reviews, I decided too give it a try. For my first visit, only the woman was there. The haircut was OK not good or great. I came back a second time to try her husband. The result was horrible. Worst haircut I have ever had. To get my hair to stay down, I had to buy some "Greasy Kid Stuff" . I haven't had to do that since I was a kid. Yes, they are both very nice, fast and reasonably priced. But I would rather have someone take more time, charge me more and give me a good cut. I am letting my hair grow out and try somewhere else. The story goes, if you come in to a new town and need a haircut look at everyone and see whose hair looks best. Then ask him who cut it. I'm now walking around the city looking for the best hair. I've been there three times now, but I won't be going back. They do a perfectly acceptable haircut - it is very quick but I'd rather have someone spend a little more time to make sure things are even. I could look over that for the price. However, I can't get over their unprofessionalism. The woman has cut my hair twice, and she is a talker. I'm usually OK with that, but she's said some pretty offensive things, thinking nothing of it. She's made inappropriate comments about bumps on my head, she showed me a bump on her collarbone and talked at length about it,a nd then the killer was when a black guy walked in and asked about the price of a hair cut. She hesitated until he left, and then told me she doesn't like when "dark guys" come in because they scare her. I almost got out of my seat, but she had a pair of scissors over my head, so I opted to stay put. I'll be looking for another place to get my hair cut. read more
