Awful! I bought a groupon a few weeks ago for a Microdermabrasion facial. The man I spoke to was curt and had nothing available and this Groupon has an expiration date. He insisted they do not follow the expiration but I didn't trust him. I told him I wanted to get in, in plenty of time before I go to the beach. He said nothing. I made an appointment and it was close to my vacation so I consulted my Dr. She insisted NOT to get it and that I needed to avoid the sun for at least 1 week. They knew I was going to the beach and said nothing. I cancelled my appointment for safety reasons and because it was 12 hours prior they were taking my groupon and I got nothing! I even sent and email and the response was - No Response! They were curt, rude, UNSAFE about what they do and letting people know about dangers! Glad I didn't go and I hope I help prevent others from unsafe treatments that they fail to tell you precautions and warnings! read more

First time here, and I traveled about 45 minutes to get here. There isn't much spa-like about the nail service area. No one greeted me upon my arrival; after standing there for a few minutes, one of the workers asked if I had an appointment. I did, and was asked to fill out a form detailing my areas of concern. I did, but the information was never used during my services (I indicated tenderness due to ingrown toenails). I was offered a beverage. I had a Mani/Pedi with Victoria. While there was nothing truly wrong with her service, she made no attempt to hide her bad mood, which seemed to stem from the fact her hands hurt from booking "back to back to back services". There was no smile, no welcoming attitude. Never once asked how things felt or looked. I doubt I'll return, since my service was just average. Mani/Pedis are a rare treat for me, and there wasn't anything treat-like about my visit. read more

I was in desperate need of a massage after a trip across country. I found Qi Spa on Yelp. It was close to the place I was staying and I decided to give it a try. As I have my pick of high-end spas in San Diego, I wasn't expecting anything great, but was hoping for at least a decent massage. I was pleasantly surprised the second I walked in. This place is top notch! The decor and ambiance is impeccable. The service from the lady at the front desk and therapist was warm, friendly, and professional. The massage was excellent and the price was more than reasonable. Overall, I had an excellent experience at this little hidden gem in Catty. If I lived in the area, I would frequent this spa for massage and other services. Glad to know there is a place for me to go while visiting PA. read more

Wow!! Tucked away on a quiet street is this amazing spa. Both my mud wrap and hot stone massage were done by Karen. She was excellent! In fact, it's been 10 years since I've had such good treatment (and I get multiple spa treatments once a year). She focused on the areas I requested and found tension in other areas (for instance, my forearms) that I didn't even know was there. She quietly asked me if the stones were the right temperature, what kind of aromatherapy I wanted, if I was warm enough, etc. She is clearly a professional massage therapist. I do not recommend this place at all. I walked in for my appointment and was not greeted right away and when i was greeted it was with attitude. I went to get a pedicure. I informed them prior to this that i have a skin condition and they said that would be ok since they sanitize and use gloves. When i sat down i tried to talk to the girl that was going to give me my pedi and she didnt even look at me. She walked away and when she came back she said loudly enough for others to hear her that they do not cater to people like me. I have never been so humiliated. They are terrible. read more

I received a trip to this spa for my bday and man did they deliver. I checked in and they gave me a glass of some refreshing detox water while I waited in a relaxing atmosphere. I was doing a 30/30/30 package and first was my massage with Karen who made sure in the short time my legs felt like brand new (I stand all day at work and they ache like crazy) Nalise did my facial and made sure my sensitive skin was well taken care of and not irritated at all, best facial I have ever had, no redness no irritation at all! Last I had a Mani/pedi with a sweetheart of a woman who's name I forget but it included a paraffin wax dip for hands a feet and they were like brand new! The girls even helped me pick out a color I loved and it lasted 3 weeks before I had to remove it! This spa offers so many options for pampering I can't wait to go back! read more

I just moved to Allentown and was in desperate need of a massage. I came across Qi Spa and all of the lovely reviews, so I took a chance because the pictures looked nice and reviews seemed promising - boy, did I make the right decision. I signed up for a 60 minute massage a few days in advance with a lovely woman on the phone. When I got there, I was given cucumber and lemon water to drink while waiting for my masseuse, Karen. She was very personable and asked questions about what wasn't feeling right and where I wanted to focus on. She suggested a deep tissue massage and focused quite some time on my troubled areas. I felt incredible afterwards - so relaxed and NOT tense. Then I left the room and she gave me some tea of my choice and crackers. All in all, it was beyond what I was expecting and I can't wait to return for another massage, as well as try their other services. read more

Just had an amazing first experience at this spa! First off, the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional. The design of the the spa is absolute luxury! I received a Brazilian wax with Nalise and she was made the experience very comfortable. She did not cause any pain at all. I look forward to going back for a facial. I love this place! It's so relaxing. They go out of their way to help you relax. I have a lot of issues with my hip and it throws my whole body off. Karen did an amazing job of helping my body relax and relieving a lot of pressure areas and knots. The rooms themselves are created for the sole purpose of relaxing your mind. I felt very uncomfortable at my facial. The esthetician seemed like she was in a rush and didn't explain what she was using on my face. I have very sensitive skin, and when the mask was on my face for a few minutes, it felt like my skin was burning. I couldn't tell her anything though because she left the room immediately after placing the mask. So I had to endure it. It took about an hour until the burning finally stopped. Staff here were able to accommodate my husband and I for manicures the day I called them. I'm pretty sure the nail technician was done for the day but stayed on to get both of our manicures done in order to accommodate us leaving for a flight later that evening. Before today I didn't know what a great facial was supposed to be like. Victoria was my esthetician and she made me feel so relaxed, and I didn't leave with my face all red and inflamed like my last microdermabrasion facial!! The products she used smelled nice and didn't irritate my skin at all, and I have sensitive skin. She is gentle, and she even gave me a mini arm and hand message! Loved every second! My best friend & I were looking forward to a nice & much needed girls day of relaxation. The reviews were so great we thought we would give it a try, we do spa days often & are always looking for a new experience. From the moment both of our treatments began it felt very disorganized. We both tried to let it go & enjoy. My 30 minute facial was amazing so I felt things were looking up. I then was ushered out to the front of the spa in the waiting room in my robe. I was a bit confused since there seemed to be a waiting area in the back. After about 10 minutes I was ushered into a massage room & told I would need to wait. I sat there for about 20 minutes and waited. I was then told the wet room was available & told to grab my basket of belongings and carry it into the room. The ash wrap was a bit awkward and lacked relaxation but still we enjoyed it. I again had to carry my belongings into the massage room. Once the massage therapist came in to begin my massage I was told "we have a problem, things took too long & I cannot do your full 60 minute massage". I was not happy at all being that I was in great need of a massage and it was what I was looking forward to the most. But again, trying to relax I just figured I'd take what I could get sure they would make it right when I went to pay. I had also added on a foot treatment that too was not done. My 60 minute aromatherapy massage lasted approx 20 minutes. What was done was good but not what I had wanted. My best friend & I met in the sauna & we both shared our disappointment & sense of poor time management/disorganization. When I went to pay I explained that I did not get what I had booked. While the foot treatment was taken off my bill I was made to pay for the full cost of my massage. Offered a card stating "free 30 minute aromatherapy massage". The young girl at the front made it seem like she was doing something great. I tried to let it go but emailed when I got home explaining I felt my credit card should be refunded for the massage (waiting on a response). We will not be returning nor recommending this spa. read more

She did not explain the procedure beforehand or once ever asked me if I was okay or how I felt while doing the facial. I don't know if she was having a bad day but she's not very talkative. I had booked this spa for five of my family members who I haven't seen in years for a medicure/pedicure the day before my wedding. I was the bride. First they had booked other clients at the same time so we didn't even get to enjoy each other's company. My girls felt so uncomfortable having their nails done with strangers. But the worst was that after several hours of waiting they never got to me-AND I WAS THE BRIDE! My mother tried to convince them to take me before the others but NO! I went home and bawled my eyes out. And never did get my nails done for my wedding & my sister felt horrible because that was her gift for me. read more

I love getting massages and generally use Groupon as a way of finding affordable ones here in the Valley. Unfortunately, I let my Qi Spa Groupon expire before I could use it. I called the spa a few weeks ago and was informed it wasn't a problem at all; I just had to pay the balance for a massage. Very good customer service! On the day of my massage, I was greeted with a glass of strawberry-kiwi-infused water and the necessary paperwork. I didn't have to wait long before Karen came to collect me. She took me to one of the nicest massage spaces I have ever been in! It was cool, calming, and very clean. One of the walls was decorated with river rocks and the lighting made the whole environment feel very high-class and peaceful. After a brief consultation, she began my massage. First of all, I love how she added a small amount of aromatherapy oils to her wrists so that every time she passed near my face I got a soft breeze of eucalyptus and peppermint. The massage table was perhaps the softest and most comfortable I've ever used. It had the option for heat, but as it was over 90 that day, she turned it off for me. I asked for moderate pressure and Karen checked to make sure everything was as I liked it throughout the massage. She spent just the right amount of time on my sore spots and the massage lasted for the full hour; no time taken off for consultation or dressing. I was so relaxed at the end, that it took me a while to get back into the world. If that isn't getting away from it all- I don't know what is? I HIGHLY recommend Qi and hope to be able to go back soon! read more

I decided to treat myself to a facial after a long hiatus and Qi Spa came highly recommended. I made my appointment two weeks out and eagerly anticipated an hour of total pampering and relaxation. My experience began very positive: I arrived at Qi Spa and was immediately offered a glass of infused water, which I graciously accepted. After the paperwork formality, I was escorted the spa room, which was comfortable and warmly appointed. The facial began in the customary way, but I felt that the experience was rushed and my esthetician, Jocelyn, lacked experience. I was not provided with the "complete skin analysis" (other than my "skin is beautiful for my age") or the "deep cleansing" as described on the website. Indeed, when I returned to my car, I could see the remains of makeup that had not been completely removed from my face, particularly my outer forehead, my eye area, and my jaw line. In fact, Jocelyn did not include my neck or décolleté in the facial. (In the past, these areas were treated the same as my face at other spas.) When I asked Jocelyn about the lack of service to those areas, she said that I hadn't included them as "problem areas" on the paperwork so she didn't focus on them. She went on to say that because they're areas that are generally "covered" this time of year (February) they don't need the same attention. Jocelyn did provide a perfunctory hand and forearm rub with my choice of oil, (I can't call it a massage), commenting that my skin is soft. My previous experiences at other spas, all included lovely full arm scrubs, massages, and moisturizing during the time my face was under steam. At Qi Spa, Jocelyn left the room while I was under steam and finished the facial short of the hour I was expecting to receive. There was no neck or head massage and very minimal face massage - only what would have been required to administer the creams/lotions. Although I tipped generously, (in excess of 20%), I left Qi Spa feeling disappointed by the esthetician and the facial experience but certainly not by the atmosphere of the spa. I probably will not return for a facial as I had completely positive outcomes elsewhere. However, I may return, for a massage as I did appreciate the cleanliness and ambience of Qi spa. read more
