Printing is a competitive business. It is hard to understand how this business stays afloat. For…read moreall intents and purposes it is a two man operation - a father and son work together. The father sells and maintains the appearance of a local on -site business; and the son does the design and typesetting work on a computer. They have old high speed copiers and offset printing presses, and various and sundry worn out printing equipment bought at auctions - none of it new, much non operational. In fact the printing presses are 40 plus years old, which makes no difference because there is no one in the establishment who really knows how to operate them. When it is absolutely essential that those machines appear to be producing printed products, skilled contractors are hired at low wages and paid to set up jobs and instruct non skilled lower wage workers to run the job. The equipment is largely there for show to deceive clients into believing that work is being performed at the location. Apart from the copying and design work, all quality printed work, most finishing et cetera are vended out, marked up, and sold as in house. The owner specializes in work for non profit and government organizations, organs that are apparently easily deceived and willing to over pay. The appearance of a clean well lit production facility is misleading. The work is performed elsewhere, and apart from one full-time non English speaking low skill worker, the other workers are paid cash off the books and are not citizens of the United States. Although this business is capable of producing quality printed products, it is largely though the ability of other printers who are obviously doin it more cheaply. There is a vein of antisocial running through this business body and it is warmed by alcohol. For those who approve, this is your place.
