Brown water! Beware!! The first thing I'm gonna say is I was set up for the okie-doke, when I drank my first cup of water here! Most of the time, when I go out to eat, I get water. This was some good brown water! Yucky-Duck! I drank it unknowingly first b/c the lid was on it. When I got a re-fill, of course I took the lid off, and when I got it back....OMGG!! Brown water galore!! Filter please!! That's why it gets only 3 stars!! On to the food and service. The food was great! I got the Philly cheese sub, and my husband go the fried catfish bites! My sandwich was bussn...Ate the whole thing and it was big! My husband said his catfish was good too! Seasoned great! Our server was attentive and nice! I would call this a "whole in the wall" bar (kinda reminded us of Cheers), but those, are the best kind most of the time! I will say when we walked in, we were kinda confused. This is a great neighborhood bar. I truly enjoy myself each time I come.. There are many huge TVs to watch the games on and the DJ respects game time and turn down the music when the games are in motion. The drinks are on point ! No watered down , cups packed with ice and skimping on your pours here. The stuff and waitresses are very friendly and attentive.. The food cones out hot , fresh, in a timely manner and is inexpensive. There are pool tables here and did I mention the DJ is on point . My friend Adam (aka Professor Night) and I popped into this place in an effort to find a tasty late night snack for my friend Garnet who we'd driven down from Charlotte to visit. The atmosphere was celebratory even for a random Thursday in September. People were smiling, mingling, shooting pool, and line dancing to some reggae-ish beats out on the dance floor. I approached the bar to scout for a menu and a stylish, friendly, and attractive lady greeted me invited me to sit down. The conversation was easy and genuine as she helped me secure a menu and order a basket of shrimp for my friend to go. When my friend enjoyed them a little later, they were tasty and crisp. If I were the "going out clubbing" type, this place would definitely make my short list. This venue allows smoking so beware if you are sensitive and parking is a bit haphazard and confusing. However I must heap praise and tons of recognition for liveliness and a welcoming atmosphere that made a couple of white dudes from out of town feel right at home in a mostly black nightclub. Thanks. Came in here for some bar food, drinks and pool/darts with my partner. After asking a dude at the counter if he had white claw, no, then any ciders, no. "People just come here to get fucked up." and proceeded to stare my partner down as he explained that I couldn't do the gluten in the beer he had suggested. Definitely didn't pass the vibe check. The only saving grace was a sweet woman also bartending/serving. We wanted to be hanging out playing pool for several hours for our date night and decided to leave after our one drink since I didn't want to be wasted on gin and tonics since that's all I could drink lol Do yourself a favor and check out The Pointe Bar instead. Came on a night out with big daddy aka hubby and friends. Sat at the bar with a bartender name Danielle not only rude but also a liar. Regular name Dan bought me a top shelf margarita (which is $12 by the way) which D didn't give to me . She said she gave it to to me but then said see the owner. Who said " wait till I finish my dart game. Then went mia once danielle talk to him. She bought me my food with a to go boxes . Then said they about to leave when she said brought us our check.
