This is for the 787 Dreamliner - which makes a difference! I slept in this flight from San Francisco to Melbourne and I almost never sleep in airplanes. The 787 economy seats has ports for electrical outlets and usb. It comes with a large 12 inch IPAD with a plethora of entertainment options. They have a hanging foot rest. The head rest folds to keep your head in place and adjust up and down. The service was good my only nit pick is the food. It was on the bland side. Turkish airways gets the A plus on food. read more

My first ever flying Qantas. Check in and dropping off baggage was fast and efficient since everything was handled by check in kiosks. The whole process took less than 5 minutes! For my short flight (a little over 1 hour) from Melbourne to Sydney, a hot sandwich and drink service was provided. Just make sure you download Qantas apps on your tablets or smartphones before boarding if you want to take advantage of the in flight entertainment. read more

I think very long and hard before I write a review. I can only give this airline 2 stars because the cabin crews were excellent. But, ALL of our flights were late causing us to have to do some scrambling. One late flight O can understand but three? No. Then we had to change plans because of circumstances beyond our control and tried to cancel a flight from Sydney to Dubbo. We were told we could not or our entire itinerary would be cancelled and we would have to pay again for our flight home. So we now have to make an entirely unnecessary trip to Dubbo with no accommodations. Ridiculous. So I have to give a low score no other rating is possible. read more

Yesterday I called The Qantas Lounge 8th November. My husband arrived early for his flight to Sydney at 4.30 He fell asleep then woke and went downstairs to collect his luggage forgetting he was still in Melbourne !!!!! So a very kind man from the Qantas club went looking for him and a Qantas lady near luggage pick up. So between them, John came back to the club and then was escorted to the 4.30 flight and I was waiting at the other end I don't know if this will reach the people that helped my husband but a very big thank you to you Kind Regards Maggie L read more

Having grown up in Canada and flown my fair share of shocking North American airlines, and some of the budget ones in Europe, Qantas is pretty good. It's all relative. I've had the best service from them here in Australia for the three years I've lived here, too: willingness to change flights for me, more free food and booze than most, and frequent flights. Their lounges are good, too, although they are quite busy. read more

Still a big fan. Licorice allsorts in the lounge = sugar overload but love it. I travel a lot and love the easy check in with the Q bag tags. Quick easy and love the lack of making small talk at the check in desk. read more

Very reliable and safe choice for an airline., and also a decent frequent flier alliance which covers Asia/North America/Europe (and recently Middle East). Lounges also decent too (international lounges), and customer service ok. Improvements? More flights to Asia would be nice at different times (wasn't too happy that QF87 got moved to an earlier time - Cathay gets my business nowadays for that route) read more

Qantas is by far one of the best airlines I have ever flown on. The aircraft itself is a dime a dozen but the service and amenities make one of the longest direct flights in the world easier to deal with. Meals routinely come by throughout the flight, snacks are available in common areas and there are plenty of free films to watch. Sleeping in a packed row is a bit rough but manageable. I did not check bags so i cannot opine on that but free carry on was no hassle! The only downside of Qantas is that it is so popular to take, you won't be getting a flight with enough empty seats around you to spread out. Even considering the domestic flights, you get better service for your buck than most American counterpart. Overall, Qantas is undeniably a great flight carrier. If heading to the land down under, I highly recommend booking with them. read more

It has been several years since I have flown Quantas but I must admit: the seats are comfortable, the stewardesses are friendly and the small iPads at every seat is very cool! I will be back as long as I do not pay and arm and a leg for a seat. Good experience! read more

I flew out with jet star! I don't mind this company and their service i receive, however are far from my favourite airline! I tend to find myself on a jet star flight from time to time as the prices are reasonable and I feel safe on the planes! Cheap tickets, high cost average airplane food, paid entertainment, My top of airline choice would be virgin airlines which had it all included! read more

Like the lounge a lot and it's random food choices. And the terminal, if you are stuck at least you have a few drinking choices available to you. Better terminal than virgins and on time flights = happy girl read more

Qantas customer service at their main office in Australia is appalling. Don't ever expect an answer to your emails or phone enquiry if it requires an amount of research or assistance. They think they have the lion's share of the airline business in Australia and act accordingly not caring at all about replying to customers' enquiries or even responding to emails to say sorry we can't help in this instance. Many emails I have sent just asking for advice have not received a response. As a result my Company has moved its business to another airline who cares. The Staff on board the aircraft are very good as are the facilities in the aircraft but beyond that the ground staff are not at all customer focused. read more

I gave up a platinum qantas status to fly virgin because it's so much better. The qantas lounges are too busy (I used to sit by the departure gate because there is more room there). The service is consistently bad too, from check in to on board. Virgin staff are so much happier and treat you like a human instead of a bad customer before you even say hello. They get some stars though for having a pretty Stella record of not crashing! read more

I couldn't leave Australia without expressing my gratitude for the EXCELLENT customer service I received from your sales crew in MEL, led by Ms. Trish Cuthbertson. Unfortunately when I arrived at MEL for my departing flight home, I learned it had been cancelled. I had been rebooked on an earlier flight, but being unaware of the cancellation I was not in time to catch my rebooked flight. I was directed to your sales team, and admittedly I was a little nervous and apprehensive what was in store, as I've never flown Qantas though I am an MVP on your partner Alaska Airlines. My fears were quickly alleviated upon meeting Trish and her co-workers. These ladies are OUTSTANDING representatives of Qantas and could give lessons on handling customer relations! I was extremely impressed with all facets of my travel to/from Qantas. Your overall service was great. But I couldn't pass up the opportunity to relay my appreciation to Trish, Norah, and Veronique for their exceptional service in getting my rebooked the following day. What could have been an unhappy ending to my celebrating my 50th birthday in Australia turned into a very positive experience thanks to their exceptional customer service skills. This year we have flown 6 times with Qantas and I can not fault their dedicated crew. Flying with a toddler can be stressful enough, but the Qantas crew on each flight has made the flight easier and enjoyable. Upon boarding it was every time explained on what to be mindful if there is an emergency landing, the toilets which has a change table has been pointed out, extra blankets and pillows provided and where ever possible a row of seats allocated with an empty seat. read more
