This place has good food but Zero customer loyalty!!!! you can spend 100 bucks weekly there and tip 50% but as soon as there is a holiday or some other thing they will make you wait for hours and disregard there long term business to get a few extra dollars i understand reservations but you should never burn the bridges of loyal customers because of reservations extremely poor customer loyalty i will not go there anymore just out of principle. First time there. Very clean and bright. Hostess should be the waitress. Our waitress young, slow and unhelpful. Had to ask 3 times for cream for the coffee which would have been great if it was hot to start with. Two of us had the fruit filled crepe. They were very large and delicious. Our third diner chose the cinnamon swirl pancakes. We all laughed when she jokingly licked her plate!! I agree ... the up charges are Ludacris ... seriously 4.50 more for some Whipped cream? Prices are high but overall I would go back and not be so shocked when the bill comes. Ouff I though mr.lube was bad when it came to upselling... pur & simple should tell you that certain options have an extra fee attached to them. You can't ask me if I want potatoes, fries or fruit as my side and then charge me extra without advising about the cost difference. Beware of the upselling here. Also the coffee sucks and there is only one bathroom for the entire restaurant, this cant be up to code. On the flip side, there is lots of parking. read more

We are locals but travel quite a bit and thus have plenty of places to compare. We already knew about this brand as we visited the Laval location not too long ago. Sorry for the long review but as there does not seem to have much other reviews I will assume the duty to capture it well for others. 1st-Location Conveniently located close to the town center. For those traveling through, this is only a two minute detour off the freeway and it is SO worth it vs getting the same junk food (McDo, BK, Subway, Timmies, St-Hub Express) than anywhere else. It is also close to the national bike path that is on the other side of the river and the walk path around the town hall. There is also a good size parking lot which is not common to other business in this area of town. The restaurants is all windows with a high ceiling which makes it feel open. The place is a breakfast/brunch/lunch joint. What we like above all is that the diverse menu. Besides the Cafe Flora and the Lotus Bleu, which are two favorites in town but are smaller, more specialized and with limited hours/operating schedule this is pretty much the only place where you can get a healthy meal. But don't get me wrong, if bacon and eggs are your thing you can get those all along too. Look up the menu online and see for yourself. Smoothies are the best! Seriously my wife wish they had a drive-through so that she could start her day with one before work. Plus, they use ingredients that contain proteins, unlike the Mcdo & Tim's who only have sugar in them. On our last visit, I had the smoked salmon & eggs Benedict on avocado and toasts, which was really nice. It was a good size portion and combined with the Spartan smoothie I was full. My wife had the breakfast wrap with egg whites and she really enjoyed it. Another nice feature is that on those two plates, you can choose between the potato fries or the fruit. We got one of each and shared. The fruit bowl came with a variety of fruits that makes other breakfast place look pale in comparison. We will be back! read more

First, I want to say that I have a lot of experience with breakfast restaurants. I've been to hundreds of different restaurants serving breakfasts and visited the Pur&Simple locations in Moncton and Dieppe numerous times (probably around 15 times combined). I must say that the Edmundston location have work to do to be up to par with the Moncton and Dieppe locations. I'm hopeful they will get there eventually since they only opened this location recently. In the mean time, they still have multiple shortcomings to work on. Food : The eggs in the brioche and bagel sandwiches should default to be cooked over hard like they do at the other locations. My girlfriend ordered a pur morning bagel sandwich and the egg was runny which is suboptimal for such a sandwich to say the least. I myself ordered Norwegian egg benedicts. I asked for the eggs to be poached medium and I received overcooked hard eggs. I think the kitchen has a hard time to manage the cooking of the eggs when there is a lot of orders being processed at the same time. This never happened at the other locations. The last issue was the quality of the oranges. Weirdly enough, one of our orange quarter had a yellow and green peel and the other had what looked like a dirty black spot about the size of a finger tip. It could be a supplier issue or maybe we were unlucky and had a bad batch. Location and interior : The interior has a Pur&Simple feel and is very similar to other locations with the addition of a small kid play room which is nice for families. The only issue with the interior (this is also an issue at the other locations) is the lack of sound control. They should really consider adding sound panels to the ceilings to reduce sound reflections and echos. A lot of discrete and fashionable solutions exists for this issue, and they are frequently used at other restaurants. As for the location of the restaurant, this is the worst possible case scenario. The restaurant is just meters away from the Twin River paper mill and the smell is absolutely horrible. This is a recurrent issue for the city as the paper mill can be smelled more than 20 km away. However, building a restaurant so close to it will for sure reduce your appetite especially when you get out of the car to enter the restaurant. However, once inside the smell mostly disappears. They seem to have a pretty good air filtering system which is almost mandatory for commerces this close to the paper mill. The good things : Even considering the issues mentioned above, this is probably the best restaurant for breakfast in Edmundston. The city only has a population of ~16 000 and until now never had a restaurant with such a breakfast selection. The selection completely dwarf the selection of the other restaurants in the region. It is also one of the few restaurants with sweet breakfasts. In my opinion, the only other restaurant that could compete with this one is the Frank's Bar and Grill. They have a small menu selection but their food quality is through the roof. Every other restaurants in the region have a cheep feeling, and they are mostly limited to traditional breakfasts. Conclusion : In my opinion, Pur&Simple in Edmundston has a unique market position and I expect it to thrive and become a go to place in the region. I know they will get better and I will be back in 4 months to try it again. read more

I have been to this location 2 times for takeout since it opened and there will not be a third!!! The first time I ordered, they did not put my bacon in my order. The second d time, (today), I ordered 2 breakfasts and they did not put my sausages in one of them. When I called to order this time, I specifically asked for a meal with 2 eggs, sausage, home fries and toasts. I get home to discover there were no sausages. I called the place and they apologized and took my name so the next rime I order, they would give me one free plate. That would have showed me they really cared about their clients...BUT...5 minutes later, I get a call back advising me that there was no meat in the breakfast I ordered and they would not be putting down my name for a free meal on my next visit. I asked the person on the phone how that could be possible since the girl that took my order repeated my order to me on the phone and sausages were in the order. How can that be possible when I SPECIFICALLY asked for two eggs, SAUSAGE, home fries and toasts. There are a couple of competitors here in town and I will definitely never return to this location and will let my friends know about my experience. *I also found a hair at the bottom of my eggs after I spoke to them but did not call back because they would have probably thought I was lying about the hair since I had just complained* read more
