My friend and I ended up heading to this place to utilize their amazing free wifi, have a tea, and plan an upcoming trip.
I ordered a Green tea called Gunpowder and it was really good! This is the first good tea I've had out in a while, actually.
I did not taste their food, but my friend ordered a sandwich and orange juice and both looked relatively desireable for lunch.
The reason I did not rank this place higher is because it was not very clean. The girl, who appeared to be working alone, was trying hard to keep the place clean, but it wasn't working. I think it just needed a good thorough washing. Påfyll has children's highchairs...which I think is great for mothers (although I prefer quiet cafes and no children). But these highchairs were dirty. I was sitting near the stack and was hesitant to even place my coat on one of them because they were disgusting. I can't fathom that a mother would like to put her child in one. Another reason I struggled with this place was the sun was so bright that half of the seats in the place immediately became 'bad seats'. My friend had to wait for someone else to leave in order to find a seat on the other side. While I love seeing some sun here in Oslo, it is not the most comfortable situation at a cafe when you're blinded by it. Perhaps some blinds or curtains would work during the sunlight hours where it shines through so brightly?
I would not mind heading back to this place :) And hopefully next time I can do an updated review where I give it 5 stars. read more
