When we got there we found our table was a little too much in the sun and they were super nice about letting us move slightly to be in the shade. They also were able to close the slats on the patio roof cover to let less sun in. There were a couple kids menu items, I just remember the spaghetti and the kids enjoyed that. Cheese and meat platter - 4 stars Tempura green beans - 3.5 stars Zucchini pesto fettuccine - 4 stars. A bit al dente but the sauce was great. Sweet sour cod - 4.5 stars. Perfectly cooked and meat easily coming apart. Sur and turf - 4.5 stars. Beef super tender and tasty. Asked for medium rare but had to send it back was a little too rare, then it was perfect. The stairs. It's a…read morefive-story hotel with a rooftop bar. It's on a pedestrian only side street, so getting dropped off/picked up in front is not likely to happen. It's a 25-step climb from the front door to the lobby/office. It's another 25-step step climb from the lobby/office to the one person/luggage elevator that only goes from floor "one" to floor "four" with no stops in between, and which was out of service during our two-night stay. So, I counted about 150 steps up to the roof, a little less to our room on the fifth floor. The rooftop bar offers a 20% discount to hotel guests, but only on food, not on alcohol. The complimentary breakfast is served up there from 730am to 1000am. Fruits, meats, eggs, cheese, pastries, coffee and juice. Good stuff. Upon check in, the staff helped us get out luggage up to 5th floor room. Room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom. A/C worked well. We had an early flight and asked for assistance getting our luggage down as a taxi was picking us up at 630am the following morning. We were told the staff doesn't show up until 700am. (I found it odd that there is no staff overnight after the rooftop bar closes. What happens if a pipe bursts or something of that nature? Very strange). Anyway, the manager said he would show up at 620am to assist with our luggage. And he did show up at 620am. Also gave us a to go breakfast of juice, fruit and a meat and cheese sandwich to nosh on at the airport. Nice hotel, but not very accessible if you are old, frail or differently abled. The stairs. This place is cool but creeped me the hell out! Lol I went when no one was there I swear I heard…read morevoices. It has a very eerie feel when empty. Theres a part where you can walk by some glass cases and it has a sensor where it triggers a light to come on. When I walked into the room it was off. I continued to walk around and it remained off I was in there for about 5-10min before I walked in front of it. I finally made my way to the case and the light clicked on. I thought cool and looked at all the things then it turned off when I walked away and stayed off. Then when I revisited some of the things I was looking at before and the thing came back on while my back was to it. In my mind I thought finally someone else is in here with me. I turn around and nothing, then it turned off. It did this a few more times while I was in there theeeeeeen I decided fuck that I'm going to leave the room I'm not guna die today. Yes I can melodramatic sometimes, I've accepted this about myself. Lol some other weird stuff happened and I thought cool I get the point I'm leaving altogether. Lol overall they had some cool film stuff to view but this place is creepy.

I was on the hunt for a restaurant still open on Christmas Eve / Day while visiting Lisbon for the holidays, and was delighted to see that a few of the shops next to my hotel, including The MOB, still opened their doors in late December. The shop is apparently themed after the Italian mob (although I couldn't really see the references), but I also loved that they had a live fish tank and great indoor and outdoor seating spaces. My mom and I took a seat outside and decided to split their sardine salad and shrimp / salmon paella. The sardine salad was solid, with a ton of fresh veggies and a generous helping of sardines. The sardines provided all the salt and fat the salad needed, but a hit of the white vinegar the restaurant offers on the side really brought the salad together. The paella was also good; the shrimp and salmon chunks were both tender, and I loved the pops of freshness from the green peas and tomatoes. The rice wasn't quite as flavorful as I was expecting, but it was still a good meal. The portions are also quite generous -- we split just one salad and a single / one-person serving of the paella, and it was plenty.
