This is situated in a great location and the accomodation is great -really traditional, spacious rooms with an equestrian / English countryside theme. It used to be my parent's local pub so I have been a few times and it was always very popular, every night of the week. You would have to queue at the bar and ideally would have to book to get a table if there was a few of you eating. It seems to have a regular customer base but in my view, it is pretty average and the food really lets it down. The menu was exactly the same for the 3 or 4 years that I used to go and the food was really uninspiring re-heated stuff. They had invariably run out of certain options too. The service wasn't particularly great either. But they must be doing something right to stay so busy, so try it and decide for yourself. read more
