There is a large stands with ample room to watch games. You can imagine the place is loud and fun when the local team hosts a rival and the stands are full. Rink two is much smaller, at least the stands and viewing areas are smaller. The heater above the small bleachers is nice and useful to keep you warm! The rinks are connected by a heated common area with bathrooms, concessions, and a small retail office for tape and skate sharpening. I had a positive experience w the skate sharpening here. Decent price too. One cool feature is the rubber floor in the common area between the rinks. This is useful for getting between rinks or putting on skates without needing skate guards. A nice touch. This arena has all the bells and whistles one would expect of a MN high school hockey rink with a supportive community and successful program.

Went to see the MN Vixens (women's tackle football) play a team from Wisconsin (Dragons). Of course the Vixens won. :) They have plenty of parking. For the game they had a few food trucks come in, Which was nice. I love that this stadium is right off the highway (100)/easy to get to. I'm excited to go back for the rest of the games this season!

One end is cut off so you have to make a U to walk to see all field views. There was plenty of room for the vendors and people walking in the aisles. For the Aurora game, the three middle sections on each side were reserved which left plenty of great viewing options in general admission. Our game started at 4pm and it was an extremely hot, sunny day so be prepared to sweat. There is not a lot of shaded seating. One area that was unique is a grassy area in the end zone. People were allowed to bring in blankets and sit in the grass. The stadium is small enough that there are really no bad seats. I'd definitely come back again to watch something here.

The team's first season was in 2017. I think the team has gradually improved since that time, finishing in the semifinals in both the 2020 MLS is Back Tournament and the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs. Minnesota's 2020 team lost, 3-2, to the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference Finals. Despite not making it to the final game, Minnesota's Kevin Molino ended up as the top goalscorer in the 2020 playoffs with 4 goals. Christian Ramirez is the team's all-time top goalscorer with 74 goals scored during his time with the team from 2014 to 2018. However, most of those goals were scored during Minnesota's time in the North American Soccer League (NASL), not MLS. If you count MLS-era goals only, Darwin Quintero owns the team record with 27 goals scored between 2018 and 2019. Robin Lod and Emmanuel Reynoso are the guys to keep your eyes on these days. And speaking of the MLS era, Adrian Heath, who came over from Orlando City SC, has been the team's coach every season so far. Good for the Loons for sticking by Heath for five seasons now. Since the stadium's opening in 2019 (Minnesota's third season), the team has played in Allianz Field in downtown St. Paul. Allianz Field was designed specifically for Minnesota United. Similar to my favorite MLS team, Atlanta United, Minnesota United spent some time in a college football stadium while its current stadium was being built. In Minnesota's case, the team spent its first two seasons calling TCF Bank Stadium, now known as Huntington Bank Stadium, home. Huntington Bank Stadium is the home field of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. As a SAHM of a busy toddler, we are always looking for fun free activities to incorporate into our homeschool routine. I found this TOT Time on a great website; familyfuntwincities.com and I am glad that I did. Only 15 minutes from our home, we arrived around 10:15 AM and headed to the Fieldhouse where Tot Time was held- which is just around the corner from the entrance down a short flight of stairs. (There's an elevator available as well) We walked into the busiest, fullest Tot Time I've ever witnessed! There was at least 75+ people there, enjoying the bouncy houses, balls, cars, and various balls available around the turf. This place is slightly cooler, but nothing a light sweater or long sleeve shirt can't handle. We immediately dropped our gear along the perimeter of the field, and began to enjoy play. My son stayed in the bouncy house the entire time- though kids ran in and out, enjoying other activities this space had to offer. I was the only woman of color, though eventually there were three other males of color who joined. Initially, I was slightly uncomfortable- and a few kids came up to me and stared as if I was the first brown person they'd ever seen. That's another subject for another day. But if that kind of thing deters you from enjoying the experience, I'd say bring your own friends. The bouncy house was a rough place. Boys wrestling, kids bumping heads, falling, etc but the fun never stopped. From what I witnessed, the kids were free to run and roam without parental supervision. There were cases of kids wrestling until one was hurt in the bouncy house, and I was too afraid to say so Something. Though some parents stayed close to their kids and monitored what was going on (which is my style of parenting). We had a young girl push my son, hitting him upside the head and her mom held her accountable and made her apologize. I appreciate that! (Not that I was counting on it) It was a good experience and I look forward to joining them again.

Further a plus is the attached restaurant and bar, all connected so once inside you are good to go. This arena has a long history of controversy with city ownership, then county ownership, and the private hockey academy and on an on, so you can google that history and make your own decision. This is a nice place, with good ice and potential for additional growth if the former bubble section is turned into something useful like turf, ice, or some other use.

The view of the Cathedral and Crashed Ice track is absolutely breath taking when you're walking up to the event. I had to stop and take a couple of pictures because it was just too beautiful not to do so. I'm so happy I was able to watch Cameron Naasz take the World Championship title for Team USA for the first time in Crashed Ice history. The energy was electrifying, and although I had never watched this sport in person before, I got so fired up. The two downsides were parking and the protestors standing right outside of the event. We were luckily able to find parking not too far away from the Cathedral, but there were people who had to pay upwards of $15 just to park in a lot or ramp. The roads were packed and the crowds from Crashed Ice didn't help the traffic. The protestors turned a lot of people off and sparked several arguments to start up. Despite the negatives, I do believe Crashed Ice was an event worth attending. Everyone was amped up and I couldn't help but feel the team spirit after the big win. The warm weather contributed to an even larger crowd this year, and I loved it. I didn't even have to wear a coat! In addition to that, we got free Red Bull and Beef/Turkey jerkey after the race (they only gave it out before and after the race...NOT during). What could be better than that?

Red Bull Crashed Ice is the most worthless, useless, irritating event to grace the Cathedral steps…read more I am originally from St. Louis and New Orleans, and moved here about a year and a half ago. Living in the shadow of the Cathedral has been wonderful, and the view of the city assures me that this is the best place to live in the Twin Cities. But the event is a complete waste of time and space. The construction is one thing, but to take away parking from residents without providing an alternative is another. Parking becomes an issue for two weeks, and for what? So we can all gasp at a bunch of hockey players racing down a track while paying $10 for mediocre (at best) fried foods and no outside drinking? And why can't you drink outside? How uncivilised. The fact that nobody is drinking while watching this event makes me even more dumbfounded as to why anyone attends and sticks around. St. Paul is a great city, full of wonderful events and great people. But this event is a stain on the city.
