We ordered cheese curds as a meal for my daughter and not only did they not come out with the appetizers or the meal but 30 minutes after we all finished eating we still didn't have cheese curds. Then after we said forget it we'll go to McDonald's and get something for her to eat they charged us for them. It will be a cold day in hell before I come back. I can't believe the negative reviews I read about this place, sports World. I take my son there sometimes weekly and we have a blast. I find it always clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. They complained about the water features. We found them beautiful and very refreshing especially in the summer heat. My son is handicapped, Down's syndrome. He is very friendly cheerful and extremely outgoing. He made friends with all of the staff and they love him. Maybe that's the key to finding a friendly staff, being friendly yourself. There is a story about a man who worked in a gas station in a small town. One day a family pulled up in a car and they were relocating. So, they asked the attendant what the people were like in that town. He then asked them, what were they like where you lived before? They answered, mean, selfish and snobby and we couldn't get out fast enough. The attendant answered, well folks are the same way here so you might as well keep on going, so they did. The next day another car came through, also relocating. So they also asked the same attendant what the people were like in that town. He asked the same question, what were they like where you lived before? Oh, they were wonderful, beautiful and loving people, and we hated to leave but we need to relocate to a warmer climate for our health. He answered, well, the people are the same way here so you might as well unpack and stay. So they did. So, if you don't like this beautiful city and the attractions that are here and the staff that works in them, why don't you relocate. Maybe you'll find a city with people just like you! Or maybe you could spend 3-4 million dollars to build a center to entertain families and their children, then staff it, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS , ALWAYS be friendly and smiling to people like you when they come in no matter How they treat you or what problems are happening in your personal life. Sorry, but when I read these complaints it just struck a personal chord with me, especially when I see my son having so much fun there and getting along so well with everyone there that is so friendly. So, I just felt I had to say something also. Well, it doesn't sound like this discontented people are going to return there ever again, so I think we should expect to only find friendly people there. What made it the most fun was just the company I had. The place was built around 2002, and NOTHING has been updated or replaced in that time. The batting cages were just ok, I didn't do the go-karts this time, but I did back in 2002, and even back then I felt like there was almost no power to them. The turf in the mini golf has never been replaced, and they are so traffic worn that a small tap on the ball sends it all the way down the hole, and it is like a warped pool table, where the balls just always gravitate to the edge. People are rude and disrespectful. Me and my friend went to ride go karts and the guy told us instructions of not hitting or bumping like always. Once we start riding i slow down to stay with him to have fun and race. One lap in we catch up to each other and they open the pits to come in. We were so confused why because one ride is 3 laps and we only did one. Not to mention they close at 10 and it was 9:30. He stopped us and said we "hit each other and to leave and have a good night. But we didn't hit each other. We were just trying to race. The real reason was just because they wanted to get off of work because we were the only ones racing. Me and my friend ( to clarify we are both 16 ) got kicked out while riding the go carts. we had taken off and We were in the back of the pack the people in front of me were going slow so I got stuck behind a wall of parents and kids , while I was back there someone started going crazy and turned a cart around creating a domino effect of spun carts , Me and my friend being in the back of the pack were able to get past the crash without doing so much as bumping into a cart , and who I assume was a parent threw a hissy fit because we were The only people still racing and started yelling profanities at the two of us, and at one point ran in front of our carts with his fists ready , ( with several little kids around ) ... where were the two workers you ask , they went over to the assumed parent and decided to side with him because he was the older one of the group and therefore the most mature one ( not in this case ) , they kicked us out with out even asking if we had indeed caused this accident just sent us in our merry way and not doing a single thing to the man who was going berserk and trying to fight me in the middle of the track. At 7 on a nice weathered Saturday, we called to check hours & were told they'd be open til 10. We arrived at 8 with 4 adults, 2 kids. At 9 a young man came out to see "how many people" we're still there & told us to enjoy the rest of our game. At 9:30, when we were in the far SE corner of the mini golf course, all the lights were shut off. After carrying the 2 terrified, confused toddlers back through the dark densely decorated, now obstacle course, we were told "the boss said to close early because there's NO ONE here and we're not making any money." Asked for refunds since we didn't get to finish the game wed PAID a for, and were told no, we don't do that. Asked for a number to call & get stuff straightened out and was told everyone was out of town, no would answer and he did not have the owners number. read more
