This place might very well be one of Las Pinas' best kept secrets. Really good Pinoy food at a really good price. The eatery is located inside Pilar Village; just a five-minute walk from my in-laws' house so they would usually order there if they're too busy to cook.
It's not your typical carinderia where they serve Filipino dishes using the cheapest ingredients available. Remember the Crispy Dinuguan from one upscale restaurant that pork lovers rave about? Well, they have that here, and more! They have Crispy Kare-kare, Crispy Pork Caldereta, and heck, even their Sinigang has crispy pork in it! I've tasted the Crispy Dinuguan and it's just as good as the other restaurant's version (at half the price)! The sauces are tasty so make no mistake of thinking that it's all about the pork. Although the plain Lechon Kawali is more than fine on its own; soft juicy pork with a crispy skin, best served with LOTS of rice. Other non-pork dishes are good too. I'm not really fond of eating fish, but I like their Sweet and Sour fish fillet.
The food is really good so expect to pay more there than you would in a regular turo-turo. Don't worry, it's still very affordable. read more
