Yorktown…read moreHeights, NY, 10598 just engaged in what can only be described as egregiously unprofessional conduct. I have been a practicing litigator at an Amlaw 100 firm for over 20 years, have hired hundreds of process servers myself, and have never heard of such atrocious conduct. A large, imposing, and slobbishly dressed man first blocked the driveway, slammed on a door knocker and stared through windows of a home for 50 minutes early in the morning making no indication of his purpose. The experience terrified the occupants and children. He then returned and refused to engage in lawful substitute service by handing the process to an adult who answered the door and instead said he was under strict instructions to serve only the mother of the children in the home and would return to the home repeatedly until he served her in person. He finally taped to the front door papers not in an envelope with threatening language against the mother that was in the full view of the children. His conduct was reported to the authorities.
