The first place we ended up had sent in an estimate that instantly deemed the car totaled, and they were about to have it sent to salvage. I posted in a local FB group for help because I was certain the car should have been fixable, but in calling around I hadn't found anyone who was willing to try. Chuck Bobinger responded to me and became the savior of this situation! He walked me through everything I needed to do. They fixed and replaced just what was needed mechanically and aesthetically, for a reasonable cost that ended up less than the settlement. The car was restored beautifully, quite literally "like it never happened." (One advantage of this terribly late review is I can attest that the car has been golden ever since and makes regular road trips.) The lady was hard to understand, poor phone connection as well and not a local number. She didn't address what company she worked for either and was questioning who I was when I was very straightforward asking for a tow for my SUV. She got my information and then told me it'd be 40-60 min wait for a tow (not too bad) but it is a $350 flat fee and requested payment upfront over the phone. I've thankfully not had to do many tows in my life but this really caught me off guard and there was no way to pay in person. Also $350 for an SUV to go a few miles is crazy expensive. Other quotes in the area have all been $100-150. I'm not saying this is a scam but it didn't leave me feeling very comfortable or confident especially since they were able to come quicker than any other company. If I'm proven wrong here I'm happy to remove or change my review if possible.
