I really like this concept, but it's not executed very well, at least yet. This company beats Miss Jenny, their competitor in Metro Denver on price, but not on service.
I downloaded the app. It was very glitchy and after creating an account it froze completely.
So then I went online and requested laundry service from there. The site has you select pickup and drop off times and dates. So I select tomorrow morning for a pickup and the following day for the drop-off. I'm around here through the 3-day weekend so I'm not in a rush, I just picked some times, simple as that. The price showed up as $1.50 per pound for those times. Ok sounds great.
The next morning I have my laundry on my porch before 10:00 since the time I selected was 10-11 range. I get a text from Brian at 10:22 saying they are trying to find a driver for my area (80015). That's fine, it's not snowing and I'm a reasonable person.
At 11:14 I get a text from Yvonne saying she'll pick up the laundry between 2-3. Cool. They pick it up and I don't notice when, I may have been out; it's great to not think about laundry.
Today the app gave me a notification that laundry will be dropped of between 2-3. Cool.
It's my husband's birthday so we're just enjoying the day, go out and do some fun stuff, ect. I'm not completely out of clothes yet, that would've made brunch awkward. And I really don't care if I'm home or not whenever the clothes are dropped off. I figure if someone steals a trash bag of clothes off my porch they probably needed those clothes more than me.
Eventually my mind leaves the birthday fun and I look on the porch. Ta-da! Nicely folded, clean clothes in bags.
I bring them in and tell my kids we'll put them away tomorrow. We go eat cake.
Now that I'm going to bed I look at my phone and see that Yvonne text me. She let me know she dropped the laundry off at 3. Cool. But then also text that she charged my card an additional $0.20 per pound for the rush order. Hmm what rush? I wasn't in a rush and never told anyone to rush. The app didn't indicate I'd selected "rush times" it said pick a time, ok, $1.50. Never charge a customer for something they had no notice of prior. If this was rush time I'd have picked different times. Then I see now they changed my pickup time on the app under "completed orders" to 2-3 when they came as opposed to the 10-11 time I selected. Hmm you created your own rush, why do I have to pay for it now?
And it's not at all about the dollar cost, it's the principle. I did this to not think about laundry and now I'm still thinking about it and going to have to dispute my credit card over it. I wanted to save time, not have this extra inconvenience. read more
