I shopped around for a few bits for my Syrian hamster; Teddy Bean, and then approached a young gent called Lee to ask him whether it was possible to have a moment of his time to talk about the animals, and possibly hold one of each. I was pleasantly surprised at how keen and knowledgeable he was on the animals. He sounded like he was in the right job! Personally I do a lot of research on the animals, and was looking forward to challenging the staff with a few questions I was curious about. He answered them all and I was very happy to have left the shop with new facts. I still have my quibbles with Pets At Home They have removed the Rotastak fluffy bedding nesting material from their shops, however still have the Happy Pet brand cotton bedding. The Roborivskis are still labelled as dwarf hamsters when they actually aren't dwarf (Who'da thunk it, with their size?), and the prices are a bit high compared to my local pet shop. Customer service is everything. Pets come first, and the people come second, and this member of staff really has got it. Old fashioned pet store…read more It's old fashioned in as much as its laid out in a fashion more akin to a store in an Istanbul souk rather than the modern minimalist clean cut ways of the west. Stacked to the rafters with pet parafenalia it's the place to get all your pet needs met. For fellow cat owners they sell catnip mice that cause our cat to go a little mental and within a couple of days disembowel the cheap little toy. She loves 'em and it's a pleasure to watch her go mental.

The staff were very knowledgable and attentative with helping customers. They had a vast selection of pets and supplies to suit anything you would need. The layout of the store was fantastic, everything was clearly displayed so you wouldn't be walking around aimlessly for what you are shopping for. As for prices, I was pleased that everything was at a descent price compared to some other places I visited. The only bad point I have is that they were out of rats at that time, but with it being close to christmas It was understandable so I wasn't upset. Staff are willing to help and are happy to discuss the products. If you're thinking about buying one of the small animals, they discuss your choice through and can give you the main differences between the options to make sure you understand what you are taking on. They offer leaflets with care advice and tell you to pop in if ever you have a query or concern. They also offer a range of fishes and fish tanks.

They have a variety of livestock in the shop, either for sale (guinea pigs, rabbits, reptiles, hamsters, birds, fish etc.) or to "help" customers (a beautiful cat and several lovely dogs). The livestock are always healthy and live in clean environments. Its is always a pleasure to shop here and i would not buy a pet from anywhere else!
