Ice cream was very affordable for the size. One scoop honestly all you need. Its about the size of 3 normal scoops. They have a variety for every one and even have non dairy and vegan options. Ice cream is very creamy and very good. Can eat inside or outside with a very nice atmosphere. read more

Great stop. Great options. Very affordable treat. They even had vegetarian options. The only thing that was sad was finding out they no longer make the ice cream in house. Also, the parking lot was a little hairy, but other than that I highly recommend for an end of day treat. read more

Agree with those who say not sure what all the fuss is about. Went with my family and ordered black raspberry for myself. Tasted like cheap bubble gum. Threw it away after one bite. My wife and toddler both cut their lips on the cheap and poorly manufactured plastic spoons (made from bio-degradable material) that we were given. After just a few bites our toddler's lip was bleeding. The lemon sorbet and chocolate ice cream were average. Portion sizes were obscenely large--even the so-called junior scoop would have been enough for two adults to share. To be fair, our toddler liked his chocolate ice cream, and the service was reasonable. Won't go back, though. read more

If you're in downtown Ithaca, and even if you're not, I don't know why you would get ice cream anywhere else. They have the standard flavors, but they also get creative with flavors like bittersweet, my personal favorite. You can get pints or half gallons here too. read more

L-o-v-e Purity! It's always a stop whenever we're in town. The mint chip is, hands down, my favorite: green (as it should be) with thousands of slivers of chocolate. I also tried Chocolate Debris (a must if you like chocolate with a side of chocolate), Madigan mint and pretzel logic. An Ithaca favorite and tradition that never disappoints! We stop by a few times a week on summer evenings for dessert and take advantage of their indoor dining area to sit and chat. We also run into many friends and neighbors as this has become Ithaca's de facto city hall. Ice cream, pie, cookies and muffins are delicious! Breakfast and lunch has been spot on and inventive. The staff is always pleasant, helpful and quick, which helps with the long lines. Only recommendation - Purity may want to provide an office water cooler station with tiny paper cups. We dream of their flavors and can't wait to return. read more

Purity Ice Cream has recently been updated, and wow! What a beautiful update! The ice cream is still delicious with more combinations and possibilities than most people could get through in a lifetime. The new larger facility is just what was needed. Do not be daunted by long lines, it goes quick. By the time you figure out what you want, you will be at the head of the line and placing your order. There is now plenty of seating in the new spacious dinning room! I hear they now serve breakfast and can't wait to give it a try. read more

Ice cream is my favorite food group! I am very particular about my choices. This place has very excellent ice cream and I especially love the coconut flavor. It's not the best coconut I've ever had, but it comes close. It's a great place to go after the theatre or movie. When me and my family walked into purity's , there were people eating ice cream and enjoying themselves, even in the winter time. If you want REAL homemade ice cream, go to Cayuga Creamery or Sweet Melissa's. Purity doesn't make any of their ice cream anymore, which is a shame. And Sweet Melissa's makes DELICIOUS vegan ice cream out of COCONUT milk! I'm not even vegan and I order it sometimes! read more

The Purity Ice Cream shop is a favorite of mine for their Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. This has always been my favorite flavor, mint chocolate chip, but purity does it in a way that I have not seen any other ice cream shop do. they get a good ratio of chocolate to ice cream. Not huge chunks of chocolate found once or twice but small bits of chocolate through out the ice cream. My Girlfriend Always gets the Bulldog Crunch, Which I have to say is also a great flavor. Nothing about this Ice Cream place is out of this world but what it does right it does very well. I have always loved Purity and was so disappointed when I thought I could no longer eat there due to lactose intolerance. To my amazement they have the most delicious mint chip soy ice cream!
