If you're looking for someone who truly knows how to clean fine rugs -- Martin at PetPeePee is the…read moreperson to call. I recently had four rugs cleaned, including a large Turkish rug that had developed a terrible dog odor. I was convinced it was a lost cause, but Martin completely removed the smell and restored the rug beautifully. What makes his process so effective is that he doesn't use harsh brushes or agitation that can damage the fibers. Instead, he thoroughly wets the rug and then pulls the water through the fabric, flushing out dirt, debris, and odors from deep within. It's such a smart and gentle approach -- and it really works! Martin is professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. I appreciated how he sent me a video of my rugs being cleaned in his warehouse -- it gave me so much confidence in the process. I can't recommend PetPeePee enough. My rugs have never looked or smelled better!

My grandmother took EXCELLENT care of her things, this rug included but my mother inherited the rug and had it for 20 yrs and almost ruined it by letting her pets go to the bathroom on it and not pro cleaning it for the 20 yrs she had it. When she (my mom) passed, I was heartbroken at the idea that the rug could not be properly saved/cleaned and would suffer from the 2 decades of neglect. Watching Mr Martin's videos on YT I KNEW I didn't want anyone else to clean my beloved grandmother's rug. He helped me save this rug that is not only valuable as a hand-knotted antique rug but invaluable to me as a family heirloom. He even sent a vid of the disgusting dirty water that came off of the rug. Im a chef and a "super smeller," and the rug did have a slight odor when he brought it back but it did dissipate in 2-3 days. Back were the vibrant colors of the rug. I actually cried tears of joy and thanked my hubby for letting me spend the $ to save He is an "artist type" and therefore has what some might consider a "strong personality" but one should not let that come in between them getting their rug cleaned by a guy who cares passionately about the cleaning and maintenance of these HANDMADE works of ART that take YEARS to weave. If well maintained a wool/silk/natural fiber rug dyed with vegetable dyes will last 100s of yrs. Cheap is expensive in the end. Yes, rugs like these are not cheap. Neither is Mr. Martin's cleaning service but if you look at the cost of wall to wall carpeting (made out of man-made garbage that could be poisonous) or cheap rugs from Wayfair or Amazon, it doesn't make $ sense over the long run. $ for $ antique rugs are not only gorgeous to look at but a pleasure to own and walk on. When well maintained, they can be handed down from generation to generation.
