I would not recommend this company to anyone! It is the worst experience that I have ever had. The whole process was frustrating and I suffered a big financial loss. I just cannot believe that they could easily take back what they promised to their customers and even threaten to sue me after I told them that I would share my experiences online! I do see some good reviews about them, but I just simply cannot relate any of those to my experience. As a first time homebuyer and a customer, I found mold in our basement. All I need is to have a waterproofing company to help find the root cause and fix it. Long story short, they convinced us that the interior French drain would solve our basement moisture issue permanently. We trusted him and signed the contract the same day. It was very unfortunate that I got laid off 3 days after and we really wanted to walk out of the contract, since we just cannot afford this expensive French drain, but it says in the contract that they will charge us a 20% cancelation fee, which is also a significant amount of money. We have to do it in the end! Back to the topic, now the truth is that we don't really need the French drain, at least not immediately (it's always good to have one. Of course, but under the condition that you have a lot of money to spare) and it does not help with our particular moisture issue at all. It's the cracks on the wall that caused the water issue. This makes me feel that they just want to take advantage of us by selling something extremely expensive but not what we actually need. Can you believe that a jobless me just spent $14000 for a French drain that does not even solve the problem??? I had several very unpleasant conversations with our inspector Andre and he argued that the French drain does what it's supposed to do and there is no way for him to tell wall cracks. A lot of excuses! As a customer, I don't care about the French drain. All I want is to have the problem solved! It is you who recommended us to do the French drain that would help with the moisture issue. And now we found the root cause. They refused to take responsibility and tell me that they will only take care if anything goes wrong with the French drain! What I asked for is not under the contract and they will not provide any services for free. And you know what, this guy promised me to install the vapor barrier for me with no additional costs after my first complaint. The only thing is that I will have to tear down the entire drywall at my cost. Fine, as long as they are still willing to solve my problem. After my second complaint, he told me that the office decided not to provide me any services for free, including the vapor barrier even after I already tore down the entire drywall for $600. What really pissed me off is that he even threatened to sue me and said that I insulted him? I may indeed need to watch my attitude, but for someone who just purchased a house and got laid off during this unusual time. Long-term Review: Months later Unfortunate end. Key takeaways: 1.) The sale and the execution did not match. Be cautious of the scope and "warranty" on the contract. 2.) Watch who does the work. Andre is knowledgeable but we dealt with severe miscommunication with those actually doing the work. 3.) Questionable quality with fast work going from job to job. We had a French drain system installed. Once we got rain and snow in the fall/winter we find the drain collecting and pumping water nonstop. Andre suggests to install a flowell/drywell to collect the heavy water discharge underground. A week after install (with questionable fixes needed due to mistakes by their team) the well over flows and has water flood right next to the foundation of the house. Andre came the morning to inspect but we were left with "nothing we can do". After requesting some refund we get texts blaming gutters and claiming we're in a better position than before. I had the job done last Thursday. It was done, I spoke to Andre about a permit that was needed. He said I did not need one. But after he spoke with the town, a french drain and sump pump need a permit if installed on side of radon system. When I spoke to Andre on Friday about submitting the permit, he said he would do it Monday. Nothing sent Monday. I texted him several times. No response. I checked with the town Tuesday, still no permit. My radon permit did not pass because the workers did not seal the pump. Mind you, they did the job before knowing I needed a permit. That is not ok. But because the inspectors need to look at the pump, for now that is ok, but they need to come and seal it once inspection is done. It is their responsibility. I called 4 times Tuesday, and all I get is someone will get back to you soon, hours later! I still have yet to get a response and now my radon permit is open. All Andre had to do was his job!
