Backing up, we ended up using Solar Energy Solutions because metro government (Louisville) has a program called Solar Over Louisville, in which an independent board helped select a provider that would offer solid service, transparency, and reasonable pricing on hardware and installation. And that's pretty much what we got. The Solar Over Louisville program was given a green light for another year, and I believe they endorsed two providers (including SES) this time around. They gave us quotes for the cost and timeline and they also gave us estimates about the benefits we'd see, based on information about the pitch of our roof, our historical electric usage, and so forth. A year later, I can tell you that they were spot on with the savings estimate. They worked out all the communication with LG&E to set up the permits and the contracts and the net metering. No, we're not off the grid. They can do that sort of thing, but energy storage is still expensive, and that wasn't the point for us. The 30% federal rebate helped a lot too. We're not going to recoup our investment for quite a few years, but rest assured, that will happen. Your situation may be different. The whole process from estimates to actual panels took about three months. So if you want something on your roof before the hot months come along, plan accordingly. Either way, I highly recommend this company based on our experience.

For 5 months I've been trying to get a resolve to this and nothing. They have so many inefficient units that when you try and have a service tech out it's a crap shoot as to when they show. The last excuse I received from their office to a late service tech was that they didn't get my message until he was already on a call. Mind you I left the message at 7 the day before and again at 7:45am the day of. The building maintenance man called repeatedly throughout the day with no answer till around 1 pm Then the service tech left with the system still not up to par with the excuse that he didn't have time to fix it.
