I paid a $25 copay and left work for this appointment. They had me come in 30 min early to fill out all of this paperwork just for the doctor to tell me she's going to order an exam for my other doctor to complete and that the exam was not for now but for in two weeks. Just in case it's needed/I'm still experiencing breast pain. When asked if Dr. Champagne could write a doctors note regarding taking an extended breaks to relieve my pain from the breast discussed in the appt. She said to follow up with Dr. Poku. I'm like what is your purpose then? because the breast exam, Dr. Poku could have done. I wasted an hour of my time leaving work just for her to defer everything back to my OB. Terrible service and experience. Would not recommend.

As far as the callback option, you may or may not be called back. I suffer from severe chronic back and SI joint pain from an unhealed pelvic fracture, so sitting in the waiting room sometimes over an hour past my appointment time is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to take a dose of morphine to get through the waiting process. I have left a couple times because of unbearable pain. Front desk agents are rude and seem uncaring. When I come in for an infusion the room is never more than 1/2 full but wait time to even be acknowledged is way too long. Dr Batra doesn't seem to care about my extenuating circumstances. I have mantle cell lymphoma which is all the stress I can bear without what I have just described added to it. Mantle cell is an incurable and aggressive cancer so time precious.

However, this particular clinic transforms a challenging necessity into an experience of profound care and attentiveness. The staff's professionalism and bedside manner never waiver, setting a gold standard for healthcare. Absolute Unwavering Commitment from Start to Finish! The commitment to patient well-being starts immediately. The receptionist staff are consistently friendly and welcoming upon check-in. This lighthearted, attentive approach continues with the Medical Assistants (MAs) who prepare you for your infusion, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed. This entire team excels at personalized care, making the effort to remember your name and treating you with genuine concern. Dr. Stephanie Lindauer (medical oncologist), Dr. Naomi Sigalove (breast surgeon)! A special commendation must go to the nurses who are the heart of this center. My absolute favorites--Carmel, Susie, Linda, and Kelly--consistently make patients feel like the MVP (Most Valuable Patient). Watching this dedicated group work together as a seamless team, welcoming every patient with kindness, is truly inspiring. From warm greetings to comforting hugs as you leave, their compassion is boundless. Despite the serious circumstances, this clinic is filled with laughter and love. They go above and beyond, providing snacks for long infusion days and fostering a remarkable sense of community. This supportive environment extends to the patients themselves, who become a network of friends, advisors, and therapists, sharing helpful tips and recipes to boost immunity, your spirit and navigate treatment. The staff also understands the importance of marking milestones. They celebrate the completion of treatments with joy, providing confetti and an award, making a difficult ending feel like a hard-won victory. Knowing you are in such capable, caring hands, where there is a general concern for your health, treatment, and overall well-being, makes all the difference in the world. If you are ever unfortunate enough to need care at a cancer center, this is, without question is the one you want by your side. You can even take your infusion on the patio! Which is wonderful when you need to feel the sun on your face, the trees that are close to the building give you a level of serenity with just the touch of nature the birds, the bees, and an occasional spider. Ohhh and they will give you as many warm blankets you need!

Since then, other ladies have told me of its effects with them. I didn't notice much the first couple months, then it hit me in my right leg and forearm. Would never had taken it if I knew. I had to get physical therapy for 6 weeks to help my foot and leg, and it still isn't the same. I am very disappointed in Dr. Lindhaur for not warning me about the side effects of this medication.

In the middle I was called by someone named Vonda from the Boswell office who tried to get me to continue with my 2024 health insurance into 2025 for their convenience, using various lies involving illegal practices she said were employed by new insurance companies. Then I endured a painful "simulation" without information regarding what to expect, music, blanket, or, most importantly, regard for my slightly dislocated shoulder joints. No alternative to standard positioning was offered or tried, and I was treated like a child. Be advised there are no female technicians at this site, so women with breast cancer have to be subjected to rough handling and breast manipulation by males. After another two hours of attempted positioning for treatment in a painful position due to my shoulders, I had still had no radiation treatment. I then transferred to the Boswell location, and was very effectively and compassionately cared for by a radiation therapist named Danielle, who completed the treatment very efficiently.

I've read many of the reviews about Ironwood and I can tell you that most are spot on. I'm writing…read morethis review on behalf of my wife, who has been battling stage four clear cell carcinoma for the last three years. She was suppose to start her fourth round of chemo on June 4. Her last chemo was over three weeks ago. She saw Dr Mario Pineda on May 21. He canceled her current chemo as her cancer had spread. We went over my wife's next course of action and decided which drug she would be using for her chemo. She went the following week for an echocardiogram the Dr ordered. On May 28 a nurse from Ironwood called me to make sure I had received the Rxs they had sent in and we went over them. Nothing else was discussed. We went for her pre chemo labs on June 2. On June 3, less than 34 hours before her chemo treatment, a lady called me and said, "this is just a reminder of her appointment tomorrow and that her copay $2500. Less than a day away. This is the third time that Ironwood has done this to us. They had over two weeks to find these things out but did nothing. The lady that called me had obviously been selected as the gopher. She told me they were way behind and she was told to call me. I told her I didn't care and her problem wasn't my problem. I was beyond pissed. This wasn't about the money, no other options were discussed and I know if I were to pay $2500 I would never get my money back after patient assistance paid. This is a perfect reason why I always wanted to be the contact person because I didn't want my wife to have to go through more. I can tell you this isn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. I got in my car and drive to the Chandler office. I told the lady at the front desk I was there to sign papers for patient assistance for this drug. After waiting fifteen minutes the lady said there were papers and asked me if I had a POA. I told her that I had brought the POA there at least three times. I asked her what did they do with them? I told her that all Ironwood is concerned with is $$$$. They never call to see how my wife is doing they only call to tell us how much money to bring to her appointments. I have had Simone, an office manager, help me with several issues recently. She is one of the few bright spots at Ironwood. I took another copy of a POA and signed the Patient Assistance form last Thursday. I haven't heard anything yet, just waiting and the clock is ticking. It will be at least 4 weeks between treatments. They called Friday that the Dr had ordered another echocardiogram test? She just had one two weeks ago. She went last week for labs that were never needed. That will have to be rescheduled too. Trust me when is say, I've thought many times about changing from Ironwood but when you read the reviews it doesn't get much better. My wife even got a call from a nurse that told her, "maybe you'd be better off going somewhere else." Who says that to a patient with terminal cancer? I'm done but I hope if you're concerned for your loved one that you seriously consider your choices first. Thanks Simone for all you help, you're the best!
