I've been coming regularly for five months and I definitely feel stronger and notice the difference! For the first class just pay attention to your form and do what you can. Had a good free lesson today with coach Meaghan. She really kept the energy going and was helping me with my posture. Everyone in the class seemed quiet and focused. I expected stares but everyone was feeling focused on getting through the workout. It was very hard. I didn't feel like this was beginner or tail bone injury friendly. So tips from a newbie like me 1. Stretch before you get there. 2. Drink water. 3. Just do the best you can. I modified a lot of my moves but got through it. I would come again. I was sooo nervous to try Pure Barre and finally bit the bullet in February... since then I am a Barre FIEND. The Napa Team is inspiring, friendly and motivational - they remembered my name after my first class, and my name is a tricky one to remember! I've never been so excited to get up every morning for my 6am class. Each day is a different technique, so you'll never get bored - just stronger! What a great find! I accidentally found this place. I had searched google and Yelp for gyms and yoga studios and came across this place. I was surprised that no one had written a Yelp review about it so I was a little skeptical at first. The website said you could pay for one visit or $99 for your first month special so I thought why not give it a try. I am sure glad I decided to give this studio a try! It is very clean and the instructors are a delight! I have been back a few times now and enjoy my workout every time! The instructors always make you feel comfortable. They are encouraging and helpful when you can't seem to get a position they will walk you through it. After every workout the equipment is cleaned! Be sure to wear long pants and non-slip socks. This would be a great place for women on vacation that want to get a workout in since you can pay for one class at a time and there are no membership fees. P.S. Expect to feel your workout in a day or two! They work on building lean muscle! read more

This is a great studio to get your barre fix in, especially when you're traveling. They offer a first class free but only if you're a local resident. They don't offer small class packages which I found strange due to the fact that it is an area of high tourism and a 3-5 class package seems more appropriate than a 10 class pack. A drop in is $30 for a 50 minute class so while a great burn, a bit hard to justify going more than once. The staff is nice. No place to fill up water - you can buy a $1 bottle. read more

I have become completely obsessed with this workout! I have no dance experience so I was a little hesitant about trying pure barre out but a friend of mine raved about her experience so I decided to try it out. As soon as I entered the studio, my hesitation went out the window. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Your classmates are encouraging and friendly. My lack of experience was not an issue as the instructors fixed my form throughout the class! My preconceived notions about Pure Barre were dead wrong. This was not a workout for stick thin ballerinas that don't want to work up a sweat. This is a kick butt workout that at times will have you pouring sweat and begging for the instructor to announce the last ten seconds of any given move. I can see myself toning up and I haven't even been attending class for a full month. Even my family has noticed that I've lost weight. However, the weight is not the most important change I have seen. I am stronger! I am more confident! I am more energetic! I can't wait for class each morning. The retail area is adorable and I want to buy everything! The workout is safe, low impact and 55 minutes. You focus on every aspect of your body by doing these small movements. I never write yelp reviews but I feel that have to write one for PureBarre Napa. I started at Pure Barre in June with the Groupon special and was hooked from the moment I walked in the studio. The staff was welcoming and helped me get acquainted with the studio and the exercise program as a whole. I am now on almost my 60th class and feel incredible. I am so thankful for Pure Barre Napa! I have been taking classes since January 2020, and I am have completed close to 250 classes at Pure Barre! I have been loving the livestream barre classes and the supportive/friendly community. All the workouts are so efficient and fun! Before I started Pure Barre I had an old knee injury that would flare up, muscle imbalances, and a hard time with balancing. After taking around 250 classes, my body is so much stronger than before and I no longer deal with old injury flare ups. When I first started PB, the classic barre classes were so helpful for me to learn how to isolate muscles, balance, and focus on proper form. Every time I would take class I would have more body awareness, strength, and endurance. I also love that the classic classes are low-impact (great for my joints and also great if you live in an apartment!)! Even though there are low-impact moves, they will still make you sweat and shake like crazy! The instructors always have great music playlists that makes class time fly by. I highly recommend Pure Barre to anyone who wants to have fun while getting in-shape! Their livestream classes are awesome! read more

I love Pure Barre! Shelley and her team of teachers are amazing. They are always willing to spend time helping you and making sure you get the best workout possible. There are multiple classes each day so you can workout whenever is best for you. They have special classes each month if you want an extra challenge or to learn how to perfect your moves in class. I had my first class ever on Sunday with Hannah. I've been wanting to try pure barre forever, but I sweat profusely and have always been embarrassed to be seen in working out due to that-anyway, hannah was really nice and welcoming. I am not going to lie, class was HARD. I felt like a baby giraffe who was just born-awkward, clumsy, and I didn't really know what the heck was going on! I can say that this has been the only time I have enjoyed being that confused! Hannah told me it would take a few times to learn all the terminology and get the hang of things, so it didn't make me feel bad that i was a bit confused during class. This is a clean small gym. Everyone is very kind. It feels a bit like a sorority. The work out is hit or miss, depending on the class you schedule. It would be helpful to have a beginner class at least once a week, intermediate once a week as well, and advanced for majority of the classes. The first time I tried it I felt great afterwards but really was not a happy camper during the class. A dear friend was going a lot and started looking really amazing. I asked her what she was doing and she said Pure Barre 3 to 4 times a week. I thought I am going to give it another try. I did and once again it was a challenge. Since I have been spinning a long time I thought it would be a no brainer. Now 15 classes later I am in love, still feel challenged, love the results and appreciate how wonderful all the teachers have been. I started pure barre through a great groupon deal my friend talked me into getting! I was super nervous and totally unsure about this "barre" thing assuming I needed to have a dancers body, great flexibility, or some sort of ballet background. I have always been into fitness, weight lifting, cycle, but nothing like this before. None of that matters though and after giving it a try my first night, I walked out of there feeling on top of the world flowing with endorphins and knew I found my latest fitness addiction. The class was challenging in its own way and I was certainly little confused about the whole tuck thing, felt a little out of place with movements but the wonderful instructor Paulina, made me feel great, helped me out and even when correcting me, didn't make me feel like a totally idiot. I love taking her classes and so far every other instructor I've had I love! They all bring something different to class and are challenging in their own ways but after every workout I am a sweaty yet happy endorphin flowin gal waiting for the next one! After a month with my groupon, I definitely saw results and just could not get enough of pure barre! Even my boyfriend noticed a more toned figure and loved how happy and excited I was after every class! Eventually the groupon expired but I just couldn't stop coming so I signed up for a 12mnth commitment and could not be more thrilled! This studio is fantastic and pure barre overall has become my latest fitness go to obsession! I can't stop talking about it to all my friends and family and trying to drag more people into it! I HIGHLY recommend it! But don't take just 1 class and expect to be great at it or fall in love instantly, it's challenging and hard but it only gets "easier" after your first class! I've been a gym rat since I was 15. I'm 40 now and not as young as I used to be but fitness is and always be a part of my life. I've tried a lot of things from Cross Fit, running, trail running, mountain biking, kick boxing,step aerobics, weight lifting, jump roping, spin, and other barre type classes. My boyfriend bought me as a gift a one month membership to this place and thought that I would like it. Surprisingly after my first class I hated it. I didn't ever want to go back but I thought I would just give it another try and I'm glad I did. Even as someone who has taken fitness classes most of my life Pure Barre is totally different. About the only ballet inspired thing about this work out is the ballet barre. You won't be doing twirls or jumping across the room in a center split. Pure Barre utilizes your body weight and small dime sized movements to lift, tone, and shape your body. The instructor does not do the class with you instead she describes and tells you what to do. This wouldn't be so much of a problem if there were other teachers sprinkled throughout the class so you could see what they mean when they say 3/4 bend in your knee, supporting leg slightly bent, legs hip width apart, bring your knee behind the standing leg and move one inch. That's a lot to throw at a girl who walks in for the first time. With that said the instructor constantly prowls the room making sure you are in the right form. Don't take it personally its awesome and a little tweak here or there can make all the difference in the world. A few words of advice in my humble opinion for those of you thinking about this joining this studio. Bring socks. You don't have to have the expensive sticky kind but socks are required and you might get stuck having to pay $15 for a pair if you don't have them. Also long leggings or capri's no booty shorts or short shorts. You want your legs warm and no one wants to see a butt crack or other parts when your bending. No cell phones in the studio. The class moves fast. I mean fast and it might be intimidating but stick with it. No one cares about what you look like but YOU. Trust me. This is YOUR time and YOUR work out. YOU do YOU. There are people of all different sizes and shapes and ability. With that said. Modify, Modify, and Modify....and take a break when you need it. Trust me you will need it. If you try too hard too fast you will get discouraged. I've been doing Pure Barre for almost 4 months and I still can't do a stupid teaser and get anxiety over that part of class. It gets easier over time and you will love what this work out does for your body.You will use every single muscle in your body. It's low impact but it is challenging and if you've tried it and didn't think it was hard I promise you that you were not doing it right. Oh and the weight work in the beginning is high rep light weights. Don't get cocky. 2lbs adds up real quick! To help me on form and some of the moves Pure Barre has a You Tube channel check it out. Mostly have fun. The studio is small but trust me all the instructors are freaking amazing. Shelly is the Queen Bee kick booty (literally speaking) Pure Barre champion of the world..no universe. No lie there she's got the biceps and the body to wear that crown. Hannah, just makes you smile cause she's always dancing around the class don't let that smile fool you she is tough. Laura is so personable and kind. The person who never fails to give you that gentle push of encouragement. GiGi is everyone's best friend. I just adore her. Always friendly and is the fashionista. I swear the girl would look good in a potato sack but if you are ever in need of some workout wear inspiration she always has the cutest outfits on. Chelsea is like Audry Hepburn reborn. She literally floats around the studio like a beautiful swan on water and Paulina what can I say. She was there for my very first class and was so supportive and encouraging. I can honestly say she made me come back. You can't help but love Paulina. These instructors are beautiful, motivating, supportive, and have humbled me time and time again. This place is amazing. I am in my 50's and decided to try Pure Barre Napa after my 26 year old daughter said she saw great results doing it in another city. It was intimidating to go by myself for the first time, having no dance or yoga or pilates background, but Kayleigh (teacher) made me feel so welcome. I considered myself in pretty good shape when I started(I had been doing spin and large weight classes) but I could not believe how challenging it was. The music and lights and format of the class make it fly by and nothing has changed my body's shape more than Pure Barre in a matter of months. I now have over 100 classes under my belt and still find each workout challenging. The teachers are professional and make sure you are using proper form to get the results. My core has never been stronger. The women, and few men that attend, have all been very welcoming and a pleasure to sweat with first thing in the morning.
