When my mom came down from Philadelphia to visit me, Krissy was great making sure she felt comfortable and ready for her first PB class.

There didn't seem to be any kind cliquishness or snobbery, as I feared there might be in a boutique fitness setting. I have done mat Pilates for over 15 years, but mostly in the vein of video tapes or YouTube Blogilates. I have a love for pilates, but didn't have much experience with the equipment. I tried one reformer class at a studio in Durham that mostly did private instruction and had a terrible experience with the instructor making me feel ignorant, like I was going to hurt myself doing mat pilates at home, and even body-shamed me. HOWEVER, that was far from my experience at Club Pilates! The intro class I tried had us on the equipment right away. The class sizes are limited due to the fact that everyone gets their own station with a reformer, a mat, and lots of other bars and things that I don't yet know the names of. The instructor Amy was encouraging and very detailed in her instructions. I had so much fun, and definitely learned that Pilates with equipment is a much different animal than mat Pilates. The price is, sadly, not in my budget for their unlimited monthly deals, but I do plan on returning to treat myself every now and then! And if my situation changes in the future, you'd better believe I'd be there several times a week!

I did not send email, I was not able to see account online and thought she was right. On February 18 my account was debited by Pilates Chapel Hill South, so if emailed them concerning debit. I got phone later from the manager. She told me I was a member and I must have called wrong studio. I don't think she even spoke to sales rep concerning call just told me it was my mistake. I have proof, call log showing 3 minute call to her studio and I emailed to her. She will waive final monthly fee since I was cancelling my n February 18 within 30 day payment window and I could attend classes thru end of month. REALLY... after proof sent and it's still my mistake. I won't ever go there again. I was taught the customer is always right and I know that isn't always true. However, if the customer sends proof, you apologize for the error, you don't keep defending your sales rep.

A fun, diverse group of clients and teachers. Very focused on safety, proper positioning and getting the most out of your time there. I've done private sessions, but now do semi-private classes at $25/each. A HUGE bargain for the attention I'm given! I especially love Amy's work outs... cardio and strengthening... all pilates.... and they are fun!! (btw they have 2 Amys... the owner - who also has great classes, but I mainly workout with the other Amy who does private sessions and semi-privates Mondays around noon). I haven't seen any teachers I wouldn't trust and love to work out with here.

The equipment and studio is spotless and comfortable. My trainer is the best and very well educated regarding the body and proper movement. The work out is properly tailored to challenge and strengthen. I love going here and only wish I'd started sooner. Working around my busy schedule has never been a problem. The owner is always present either training or leading a class, she hires the best trained/educated staff. She asked thorough questions to match me to the right trainer. I've never been so happy to exercise or enjoyed it so much. My background includes ballet, gymnastics (floor, balance beam and parallel bars) and tap dance. I've always been active either speed walking or swimming. Working with equipment is new to me and intimidating, no fear here the training is well supervised.

Early 2020, I went to a pop-up workout class in Durham where a new instructor was teaching a Barre3…read moreclass. I didn't know what Barre3 was at that time, but I thoroughly enjoyed that class. At the end of the event, I purchased a 5 class pass and was hoping to use it throughout 2020... which ended up not happening. By the time the gym was re-opening, I barely had enough time to use any of the passes. I contacted Barre3 - Chapel Hill, and they honored my purchase and extended it for one more year. So I got to use the passes this spring! Like a lot of people, I gained some weight through pandemic as I was moving a lot less: So I'm pretty out of shape. I only went to Sunday classes as I live in Durham, and this place it a bit of a drive for me. The receptionists are always friendly. I think I've met at least two different ladies, but they were all friendly and made me feel welcome although I'm not a regular. The instructors! I've worked out with two different instructors, and they were all friendly and all super fit & strong. They gave me many modification options throughout the classes which I appreciate so much since I'm very out of shape. Every single class, I left feeling sweaty but refreshed. I usually bring my own water bottle and a towel, but there are lots of towels for you to grab by the receptionist desk. I love that Barre3 is a combination of cardio and muscle work out. After going to classes consistently for couple weeks (only once a week though), I feel stronger. I really wish this location was closer to home (almost 30 minutes from where I live), so I could come here more often. I'm hoping to get random drop in classes as I loved it so much. Thank you, Barre3!

I was a client of this studio and have recently been in complete shock due to their service. This…read morestudio is constantly changing its rules, and they only notify you about it in emails along with advertisements. There are no notifications about these changes in the client's personal account. Recently, I was 5 minutes late for a class due to traffic (I was coming from a neighboring town), and I was not allowed in! The door was closed. It was just terrible! Previously, I had been late for classes, as had other clients, and everyone was let in. But it turns out the rules suddenly changed. I wrote to the manager, and she said that "I had opened the notification emails." It's simply disgusting to scold a client about whether they read the promotional emails to explain a rule violation. Yes, I opened the email, saw it was an advertisement, and deleted it. Barre sends notifications at the very end of the email, which is not obvious at all. What's even worse - I was late to the next class, and since I had already had a negative experience, I decided to skip it. The next day, I saw that I was charged for the missed lesson! The studio took money from me for a class I had already paid for!!! This is simply unacceptable. I'm punished both for being late and for not showing up. Checkmate! As a client who got held up at work, I'm in a no-win situation! I have never seen such terrible rules. They are constantly changing, and you never know what to expect. I have completely lost all desire to continue with barre.
