Small family business with top quality customer service. My 2007 Honda Pilot's A/C was blowing warm air. A friend who has several of his vehicles serviced by Pure Automotive highly recommended them. Pure Automotive specializes on servicing Hondas. My state inspection was due so I added that to my request. The owner, Jim called me with the results and what a great feeling when a business gives you straight answers to your questions on the options you have. I chose Pure Automotive after reading their stellar reviews on the internet. So, I was expecting good service but I found that they go above and beyond expectations! I have never had a better experience with a repair shop. Jim, who has been a Honda mechanic for many years, only performed necessary repairs and recommended what I might want to get done in the future. He spent a lot of time explaining what work was done and why it was needed. He did not try to sell me any unnecessary repairs. The bill was quite reasonable and I feel you get excellent quality and value for your money here. So glad to have found a good, honest repair shop! I will definitely use them for any future repairs. I had initial car problems with my Acura RDX that ended up being much more serious. Everyone at pure automotive took the time to properly diagnose and explain what the issue was. I was quoted less from Jim and without hesitation chose Pure Automotive because of the way they treated their customers. Even if their price was higher I would still choose them. My husband and I have both had only the most positive of experiences with Pure Auto. Both Jim & Cheryl have been great to work with. Today I was informed that scheduled work on my Lexus RX would actually cost about 40% LESS than initially quoted (saving over $300!). The reason - the initial quote was based on what Toyota/Lexus indicated was involved in the work, however, the team figured out a way to do it (properly) for way less time/cost! Here I am on vacation and my alternator dies. It's now Friday morning and I'm desperate to get it fixed before we head home the next day. I call Pure Auto and explain my situation. Despite being busy, they understand what is at stake. They order the alternator while I'm on the phone with them and I agree to drop the car off. They also laid out the costs/options up front, so that there would be no surprises. Not only do they get the new alternator installed that day, but also check my battery, reset my radio and adjust my driver's side window, at no extra charge. Given how involved replacing the alternator was, what I paid was not unreasonable at all. The owner, Jim, and his wife, Cheryl, were really nice to deal with. Brought my bf there to get his sons car AC fix. Jim and Cheryl are great. Very friendly and made you feel at ease. The office area is very clean and well decorated. Most car repair shop we've been to is expected to be a bit dirty and messy, but Jim's shop is very well organize and very clean. We were kind of unsure in bringing it all the way to Virginia Beach since we live in Yorktown, but well worth it. By far, Pure Automotive is the best in Hampton Roads; so much so that practically our entire family takes their cars here. Their quality of customer service and vast automotive knowledge are top notch. Jim and Cheryl are extremely friendly, hospitable, and professional. The facilities are always clean and well-organized. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure our cars are running well. I really appreciate that Jim takes the time to explain what's going on in the car, what to look for, and the measures taken to solve a problem. And if they're unable to solve a problem, they'll send it to someone who does, but not before doing everything they can on their end to figure out what's going on. Plus, they are very reasonably priced considering the extreme care and expertise they put into their service. I took my CRV in for a check up before going out of town in early Nov. and I can't say enough nice things about Jim and Cheryl and their team. They're just nice people, every one of them. Cheryl was so accommodating and Jim explained exactly what they did and even more importantly, what they did not need to do and why. As a single lady, I've had some very shady experiences at local "big dealerships" and my bill there was more than my car payment. I always felt they were taking advantage of me..UGH!
